Hogwarts in the shadows

Chapter 154 Snape and the Baby

Fox gave a low cry and spread its wings to fly towards Hephaestus.

The unique song of the Phoenix echoed in the air.

The voice was dreamy, ethereal and mysterious, and full of joy.

There was suddenly a slight movement in the huge pile of ashes on the ground.

A white and tender little hand stretched out from the ashes.

Then there was a series of sounds like a baby coughing, and Hephis's little head popped out from the ashes.

He shook his head and was about to speak a complete sentence in standard Mandarin, but all that came out of his throat was an indistinct babbling sound.

Even his saliva couldn't be controlled and flowed out from the corners of his mouth.

Hephis was completely confused this time, he stared at his hands blankly.

He hurriedly brushed away the ashes around him, revealing the tiny body.

He actually returned to his infancy, with a petite body and a little brother that was so small that it was almost impossible to even see.

And just the simple action of clearing away the ashes made him feel a little tired.

Hephis looked around hurriedly and found that it was still the dormitory he was familiar with.

And Fox was looking at him curiously with his bright eyes.

Hephis breathed a sigh of relief in his heart, "Fortunately, fortunately, there is no second penetration."

But then he began to worry about his current situation.

He just swallowed the shadow of a phoenix. Was it necessary for him to be reborn into nirvana directly?

Besides, he was reborn, and he returned to his infancy. What should he do?

Hephis tried to move his arms and legs.

It’s okay. Although the strength is not great, at least I can control it.

He tried to speak again, but all he made was babbling sounds and he couldn't utter a complete word.

Hephis took a deep breath and felt the magic power in his body.

Although the magic power was still there, it was completely different from what he had before, and he couldn't mobilize it at all.

He was going crazy. He had spent so much effort to evolve his body, but now it must be ruined!

Hephis tried to mobilize the power of the Shadow Fruit again.

Fortunately, fortunately, Shadow's ability can still be used.

Fox chirped at him a few times, as if asking, "What's wrong with you?"

Hephis rolled his eyes helplessly. He also wanted to know what was going on.

He shook his head slightly in response.

Fox came closer and sniffed him.

Hefeth was in no mood to care about Fox right now.

His biggest problem now is to ensure his own safety.

He separated a small piece of his own shadow and found that this body was already a little tired.

Hephis resisted the urge to fall asleep and controlled his shadow to quickly go to the Potions Office.

The shadow reached the door, but it was enchanted and the shadow could not enter.

Hephis was extremely anxious. He used up his last bit of strength to control his shadow and knocked frantically on the door of the Potions Office.

Just as he was about to fall asleep, he saw Snape, wearing light green pajamas, open the door.

Snape had just finished brewing a complicated potion and tiredly changed into his pajamas, preparing to go to bed.

He heard a slight knock on the door.

He originally thought that it was some ignorant student who dared to mess with him.

So he opened the door angrily, but saw only a black thing jumping weakly.

Then the dark thing quickly left in the direction of the Slytherin common room.

Snape frowned, but he soon realized that the black thing might be a shadow, which meant that something might have happened to Hephesus.

So he didn't even bother to change into his pajamas, and rushed straight to Hephis's dormitory.

As soon as he opened the door, he was stunned by the scene before him. He saw a slightly wrinkled baby lying in the ashes.

Next to the baby, there was a phoenix that turned its head and looked at him with its big, bright eyes.

Although he had no impression of the baby, Snape immediately identified that the baby was Hephaestus.

He quickly waved his wand, conjured up a soft blanket, and gently wrapped the baby.

This simple action was extremely difficult for Snape, and sweat soaked his forehead.

He wanted to pick up the baby, but he found he had no idea how to start.

He also found that his hands, which were usually nimble, were now so stiff that he could hardly move them.

After several attempts, he finally found a posture that he thought was reasonable and carefully picked up Hephes.

However, Hephes' head drooped back, and it was obvious that this posture made him uncomfortable, so he woke up again.

When Hephes opened his eyes, he saw a huge face.

Fortunately, the bottom-up perspective allowed him to recognize that it was Snape, and a feeling of security suddenly surged in his heart.

He buried his head in Snape's arms, found a comfortable position, and fell asleep again.

Snape also noticed that Hephesus had woken up, but his whole body was stiff and he didn't dare to move at all.

When he wanted to speak, he found that Hephes had fallen asleep again.

There was still a hint of a smile on Hephis's wrinkled little face.

He noticed that Hephis's saliva had soaked his pajamas.

Not only did he not feel unhappy, but he felt unprecedented satisfaction in his heart.

Snape's IQ finally returned to normal.

He stared at Fawkes, "Fawkes, could you please stay with me for a while and not disturb Dumbledore?"

Fawkes looked at Snape, then at Hephaestus, and seemed to be hesitating.

Snape tempted, "I have plenty of herbs."

Fox gave a crisp chirp and nodded.

Snape finally felt relieved.

He struggled to pull his wand out of his pajamas and cast a Disillusionment Charm.

He then took Hephis back to the Potions office.

Fox didn't fly, but instead used Apparition to instantly appear in the Potions Office.

Snape carefully placed Hephis on the soft bed in the bedroom behind the Potions Office.

He stood by the bed, lost in thought.

Although he had not communicated with Hephis, he was able to analyze some situations through some details.

Even though Hephis still possessed some abilities, this must be his most vulnerable period.

For example, the faint sound of Shadow knocking on the door just now. If he hadn't gone to rest yet, it would have been difficult to detect.

Now he faces two important problems.

First, keep it confidential.

It was unclear what Dumbledore was thinking at this point, though it was unlikely that he would harm a baby.

But Snape didn't dare to risk Hephes' life.

Second, the issue of support.

Snape raised the child himself, for he was worried that Hephesus would kill him.

He certainly wouldn't harm Hephes, but he really had never raised a child!
