Jiu Lama also tilted his head, staring at him with his deep red eyes, as if thinking about something.

"Do you remember I told you I had other brothers and sisters?"

Naruto nodded. "Yeah, I remember. Like Ushiki, Shukaku, Isobushi and the like, right?" Kurama nodded, motioning him to continue. "What happened to them?"

“I feel like I’m losing them.”

Naruto's eyes widened as big as copper bells.

"What do you mean? What happened? What do you mean by 'lose them'?"

"As the eldest of the nine tailed beasts, I can sense the presence of the others, know where they are, and what state they are in. But over the past few years, they have disappeared from my perception one by one."

"But...but how is this possible? Didn't you say that you are unkillable? Aren't you more powerful than those Kages?"

Kurama shook his head and Naruto's heart sank.

"Our existence is tied to the Jinchūriki. If the Jinchūriki dies, we will disappear with him. Similarly, if the tailed beast is forcibly torn from the Jinchūriki's body, the Jinchūriki's soul will dissipate. Even we are not invincible. Anyone with enough power can seal us away."

"So...are they all dead?"

The nine-tailed fox's ears drooped.

"I'm not sure either," it admitted. "I can still feel their chakra, but it's very weak and bound by some force. I don't know if they were sealed, or if only their chakra remains in the world."

Hearing this, Naruto suddenly felt how insignificant the troubles and pains he had encountered before were.

He had never felt the warmth of family love, but he tried to imagine how he would feel if one day, Teacher Iruka suddenly disappeared from his life.

Just thinking about this possibility made him feel extremely heartbroken.

"Which ones..." Naruto asked, but he didn't know how to express his question.

"Which tailed beasts are you talking about?" Kurama asked for him.

Naruto nodded.

"It's the Four-Tailed Sun Wukong, the Five-Tailed Mu Wang and the Seven-Tailed Chongming." Jiu Lama said in a deep voice.

That was the monkey, the stag beetle, and the beetle, if he remembered correctly.

He held his cheek with his hand and asked in a low voice:

"Can you tell me about them?"

A hint of surprise flashed across Jiu Lama's eyes, but it was quickly replaced by a hint of tenderness.

It began to tell ancient stories about those companions who had once fought alongside it but whose fate was now unknown.

Later, Naruto learned that the man who insulted him on the street that day was just a drunk who took his anger out on Naruto over some trivial matter.

Aunt Calamus heard his yelling and stepped forward to protect him from harm.

Although she was short, she was extremely brave and was not afraid of the tall drunk man.

He would never know that just when the drunk was about to attack Aunt Calamus, a tall figure suddenly appeared behind him, and a strong hand tightly grasped his shoulder, and the cold fingertips were like the fangs of a poisonous snake, piercing deeply into his flesh.

The man fell to his knees in agony, trembling like a dying insect.

But he still couldn't break free of the iron-like hand and could only groan helplessly. Kakashi looked down at him with a cold smile on his face, like a messenger from hell.

"Take care of yourself," he said coldly, "If I see you getting close to that kid again, you'll have to bear the consequences."

That night, Kurama sat cross-legged in the sealed space as usual, looking at Naruto quietly.

His brows were furrowed, as if he was thinking about something extremely serious.

If Jiu Lama had not been in a heavy mood at the moment, he would have laughed at him, because he looked like a frowning little monkey, which was extremely funny.

"Who on earth could do such a thing? Hunt the tailed beasts?" They had been arguing about this topic for several hours, and Kurama was beginning to get impatient.

The thing he hated most was admitting his own incompetence, especially in front of this weak human cub.

"Probably a ninja," he said unhappily, but Naruto didn't seem to notice his tone, as it was something he was used to.

Naruto was silent. He sat there with his chin in his hands, his brows furrowed, as if he was lost in thought.

The way he thinks about problems is not like an eight-year-old child, but rather like an old man who has experienced many vicissitudes of life.

He looked so weak and helpless, but there was a firm light in his eyes.

He raised his head, looked directly into Jiu Lama's eyes, and said in a firm tone:

"I don't care who they are, I will stop them!"

Jiu Lama laughed loudly, his laughter was full of ridicule and disdain.

"What can you do? Those guys are monsters, standing at the top of the ninja world!"

"I will become stronger!" Naruto said firmly, his tone calm, as if he was stating an established fact, as indisputable as the sky is blue, the grass is green, and the blood is red. "I will become stronger than anyone else!"

Jiu Lama's laughter stopped abruptly.

It poked its huge head in front of Naruto and stared at him with burning eyes, as if it wanted to see through him.

Naruto met his gaze fearlessly, a determined gleam in his eyes.

He means it.

"Are you sure you want to make such a promise, boy?" Jiu Lama asked in a deep voice.

Naruto shrugged, as if the question didn't even require thought.

"I always wanted to become Hokage and protect the people I love." He opened his mouth and showed a bright smile. "Now, I just need a stronger reason, a reason that is enough for me to give everything."

His tone was so firm and his eyes were so clear that Jiu Lama could feel that he was serious.

Although he already knew the answer, he still couldn't help asking:

"Even at the cost of your life?"

Naruto just smiled even more brightly. He stretched out his little hand and gently touched the hair on Kurama's nose. The soft touch made him feel extremely reassured.

"Yeah! Trust me!"

Jiu Lama chose to believe him.

It exhaled softly, ruffling Naruto's golden hair.

"Maybe I can help you." It whispered.

Although this human cub is weak and naive, he has a pure heart, a firm will, and a strong spiritual power, which are exactly what Jiu Lama lacks.
