Rocot: Reborn

Chapter 323

Roccod felt as if his brain was about to explode. Countless fragments of memory surged in his mind, but he could never piece together a complete picture. He held his head in pain and let out a low roar.

"Do you remember? My child, do you remember how you were born?" The voice of the man in black robe echoed in his ears like the whisper of a devil.

"Shut up! Shut up!" Rocot screamed in pain. He didn't want to hear, nor did he want to know. He would rather believe that he was the unique King of the Night than to believe that he was just a plaything created by others.

"Haha, poor child, do you think you are really the master? You are just a chess piece in my hand, a tool to destroy the world!" The voice of the man in black robe was full of malice. He stretched out a skinny hand and strangled Rocot's neck.

"Ahem..." Roccod was strangled and couldn't breathe. He struggled desperately, but to no avail. He felt his strength was rapidly fading, as if he was being swallowed by something.

"Who do you think you are? Do you think you are qualified to control my destiny?" Roccod uttered a few words with difficulty, his eyes filled with anger and unwillingness.

“Because I am your creator!” The man in black robe raised Rocot high up with force in his hands. “Now, surrender to me, child. Become the sharpest blade in my hand and tear this world apart!”

"Dream on!" Roccod suddenly gathered up the last bit of his strength. The black light gathered in his hands, forming a black blade, which stabbed fiercely at the man in black robe.

The man in black seemed to have anticipated his resistance. A sneer appeared on the corner of his mouth, and his other hand shot out like lightning and grabbed Rocot's wrist.

"You don't know your own limitations!" The man in black robe snorted coldly and squeezed his hand hard.

“Crack!”

The sound of bones breaking was heard, and Roccod's wrist was crushed, and the black blade in his hand disappeared.

"Ah!" Rocot let out a shrill scream. The intense pain made his eyes go black and he almost fainted.

"This is what happens when you resist me!" The man in black robe threw Rokod to the ground and looked down at him with coldness and ruthlessness in his eyes. "Now, do you have any last words?"

Locot was lying on the ground, gasping for breath. His consciousness was beginning to blur, but he was still staring at the black-robed man in front of him, his eyes filled with flames of hatred.

"Even if I die, I will never let you succeed..." Roccod uttered a few words with difficulty, and then fainted completely.

"Haha, what a strong willpower. Unfortunately, you no longer have a chance." The man in black robe looked at the unconscious Rokod, with a cold light in his eyes. "I will let you see with your own eyes how this world is destroyed!"

After saying that, he turned and walked towards the French window, looking at the brightly lit city below, with a cruel smile on his face.

"The game begins..."

……

At the same time, on the other side of the city, in a hidden underground laboratory, an old man in a white coat was staring at the instrument in front of him anxiously.

"How could this happen? How could the energy fluctuations suddenly disappear?" The old man was puzzled. He kept adjusting the instrument but could not find the cause.

"Professor, is something wrong?" a young researcher came over and asked.

"I don't know either." The old man shook his head, his face solemn, "I hope I'm worrying too much..."

However, as soon as he finished speaking, the entire laboratory suddenly shook violently and the alarm sounded throughout the underground space.

"What's going on? Was there an earthquake?"

"No, this is not an earthquake!" The old man's face changed drastically. He suddenly looked up at the ceiling, his eyes full of fear. "Yes... yes..."

Before he could finish his words, the ceiling collapsed, burying the entire laboratory in ruins...

"It's... it's an energy shock!" The old man shouted at the top of his lungs, but his warning was drowned out by the deafening roar. The ceiling collapsed in a violent twist, and rubble and steel fell like raindrops. The young researcher didn't even have time to scream before he was swallowed by the destructive force.

The old man was knocked over by an invisible force and hit the wall heavily. His eyes went dark and he lost consciousness.

After an unknown amount of time, the old man woke up from his coma. He struggled to get up, but found himself trapped in darkness. The laboratory had been razed to the ground, with twisted metal and broken glass everywhere, and the air was filled with a pungent smell of burning.

"Cough cough..." The old man coughed violently. He tried to call for help, but found that his voice was terribly hoarse.

"Is there anyone? Help..." He groaned weakly, despair surging in his heart like a tide.

Just then, he heard a faint groan.

"Who? Who is there?" The old man forced himself to stay awake and groped towards the direction of the sound.

In the ruins, he found the young researcher, whose legs were crushed by a huge rock, with a pale face and blue lips, obviously seriously injured.

"Professor...save me..." When the researcher saw the old man, a glimmer of hope ignited in his eyes.

"Don't be afraid, kid, I'm here to save you!" The old man moved the boulder with great effort and pulled the researcher out of the rubble.

"Professor...what on earth happened? Why was there such a powerful energy impact?" the researcher asked weakly, his eyes full of fear.

The old man shook his head, his mind was in a mess and he couldn't explain this sudden disaster.

"Stop talking for now, kid, save your energy." The old man helped the researcher up and walked out of the laboratory with difficulty.

They stumbled through a messy corridor, each step was like walking on a knife's edge. The power system of the laboratory had completely failed, and the entire underground space fell into a dead silence and darkness. Only the faint sound of the alarm in the distance reminded them that the disaster was not over yet.

"Professor, look!" the researcher suddenly exclaimed, pointing ahead.

The old man looked in the direction of his finger, and saw a dazzling purple light at the end of the corridor. The light was beating like a living thing, emitting a frightening energy fluctuation.

"What is that?" the old man muttered to himself, with an ominous premonition coming to his mind.

They approached the purple light cautiously, and as the distance shortened, they felt a strong sense of oppression coming towards them, as if an invisible giant hand was strangling their throats, making them unable to breathe.

When they finally reached the end of the corridor, they were completely stunned by the sight before them.

A huge circular gap appeared on the originally closed wall. The edge of the gap was as smooth as a mirror, as if it had been cut instantly by some powerful energy weapon.

Through that gap, they saw an incredible scene——

A huge black sphere was suspended in the air, with strange purple arcs flashing on the surface of the sphere, like an evil heart from hell, exuding a breath of destruction.

"What the hell is that?" the researcher's voice trembled, his eyes filled with fear and despair.

The old man did not answer. He stared at the black sphere intently. Suddenly, a terrible thought flashed through his mind.

"Could this be the reason why Lord Rocot fell?"
