Rocot: Reborn

Chapter 290

"Betrayal?" Roccod pondered the word as if he were tasting a sour grape. "Alicia, you seem to have made a mistake. From the beginning, you were not qualified to betray me."

He stood up, his golden eyes flashing with a cold light, as if he was looking at a humble ant. Alicia shrank, the "masterpiece" that was once full of wildness and power in her eyes, now became her lingering nightmare.

"You created me and gave me life, that's true." Rocot's tone was calm, but like a sharp blade, slowly cutting open Alicia's heart, "But what you gave me was never a gift, but a chain, a chain that tried to bind me."

He suddenly tightened his claws, and Alicia groaned in pain, and the blood on her cheek became more obvious. She looked at Rocot in horror, her eyes full of regret and despair. She wanted to beg for mercy, but found that she had difficulty breathing.

"I was once the king of the night, ruling over an area, and making clouds and rain with a wave of my hand." Rocot's voice was low and hoarse, like a whisper from hell, "But you, you tried to turn me into a knife in your hand, a puppet at your mercy."

The laboratory was dead silent, with only Alicia's rapid breathing and Roccod's cold words echoing. He looked at the trembling woman in front of him, without a trace of pity in his heart, only endless ridicule and disgust.

"You think you understand me, my ambitions, and my desires?" Rocot chuckled, his laughter full of mockery and disdain. "You are wrong, Alicia. What you see is just what you want to see. What you create is just a monster in your imagination."

He loosened his claws, and Alicia collapsed to the ground, gasping for breath, cold sweat soaking her clothes. She looked at Rocot in horror, as if she was looking at a demon from the abyss.

"What do you want?" Alicia's voice trembled. She had given up resisting and could only let Rocot do whatever he wanted.

"What do I want?" Roccod repeated this sentence, with a cold arc on his lips. "I want the world to surrender to me, I want those who betrayed me to pay the price, I want... you to pay the price for your stupidity!"

He approached Alicia step by step, and every step seemed to step on her heart, making her almost unable to breathe. There was a cold murderous intent flashing in his eyes, as if he was going to tear her into pieces in the next second.

"No, don't kill me! I can help you, I can give you everything you want!" Alicia screamed in horror. She struggled to retreat, but to no avail.

"You? Help me?" Rocot stopped and looked down at her, his eyes full of sarcasm, "What qualifications do you have to help me?"

"I know a secret, a secret about your past." Alicia seemed to have grasped the last straw, she said anxiously, "I know why you were betrayed, I know who planned all this behind the scenes!"

There was a glimmer of interest in Rocot's eyes. He narrowed his eyes slightly and stared at Alicia, as if he wanted to see through her soul.

"Speak, tell me everything you know." His voice was low and dangerous, as if warning Alicia not to try his patience.

Alicia swallowed her saliva, suppressed the fear in her heart, and said slowly: "Do you still remember that woman? The woman you once loved deeply, but who eventually betrayed you..."

Roccod's body shook violently, a trace of pain and anger flashed in his eyes, and a vague figure emerged in his mind, a woman who left a deep impression on him...

Alicia's voice was as soft as a mosquito, as if she was afraid of disturbing a sleeping demon. Roccod didn't say anything, but stared at her intently, his eyes like a red-hot knife, slowly and cruelly cutting her body. He knew that the woman Alicia was talking about was the scar that tore his soul apart, and was also a taboo in his heart that could never be touched.

"Go on." His voice was hoarse and low, as if squeezed out from the depths of his throat, with a creepy chill.

Alicia shuddered, feeling a fear from the depths of her soul. She knew that she had no way out and could only bite the bullet and continue to speak, otherwise what awaited her would be a fate more terrible than death.

"Her name is..." Alicia's voice trembled, as if every word exhausted all her strength, "Her name is Lilith..."

Roccod's body trembled violently. The name was like a bolt of lightning that instantly split the seal deep in his memory. Countless images came flooding in like a tide, drowning him.

Lilith, the beautiful and dangerous woman like a poppy, the woman he once loved deeply and was willing to give up everything for...

"Shut up!" Roccod was suddenly furious. He grabbed Alicia's neck and lifted her up like a rag doll. "Who allowed you to mention her name? Who gave you the courage?"

Alicia's feet left the ground and she struggled desperately, but to no avail. Roccod's hands were like iron pliers, tightly gripping her throat, making it impossible for her to breathe and she could only make a "ho ho" sound.

"Lockold... please..." Alicia uttered a few words with difficulty, her eyes filled with fear and despair, "I know... I know what you want to know... I can tell you... just please... let me go..."

Roccod looked at her coldly, with no mercy in his eyes, only endless anger and hatred. He knew that Alicia was taking advantage of his weakness in order to gain a chance to survive.

"Do you think I will believe your lies?" Roccod's voice was icy cold, like the cold wind from hell. "Do you think I will let you go for a woman who betrayed me?"

"No... No... Everything I said is true..." Alicia shook her head desperately. She knew that she had walked to the edge of a cliff. If she said one wrong word, she would be doomed. "I know... I know who killed her... I know who planned all this behind the scenes..."

Rocot's hand loosened slightly, and a hint of doubt flashed in his eyes.

"What did you say?" There was a hint of disbelief in his voice, "Do you know who killed Lilith? This is impossible. Her death..."

"I know this sounds incredible, but..." Alicia seized the opportunity and said hastily, "But what I know is true. I can tell you, but you have to promise to let me go..."

Rocot was silent. He stared into Alicia's eyes, as if he wanted to see into her soul and judge the truth of her words.

Alicia's breathing became more and more rapid. She knew that this was her last chance and success or failure depended on it.

"Okay, I promise you." Rocot finally spoke, his voice low and hoarse, "Tell me everything you know, and I can consider letting you go."

Hearing this, Alicia seemed to have grasped the last straw. She took a deep breath and said slowly: "Do you remember that before Lilith died, she left something for you?"

Roccod's body shook violently, and a gleam of disbelief flashed in his eyes...
