Rocot: Reborn

In the smoke-filled control room, everyone's eyes were focused on that familiar yet unfamiliar face.

"Locod?!" Dr. Li exclaimed in shock. She could hardly believe her eyes.

The man in front of him was thin and covered with scars. His once invincible aura was gone, replaced by a frightening silence. But his eyes still flashed with a familiar cold light, like a wounded beast. Even if he was dying, people dared not underestimate him.

"It's really you..." Dr. Li's voice trembled slightly. The fear, resentment, and doubt he once had turned into indescribable complex emotions.

"It's me..." Roccod pulled the corners of his mouth with difficulty, revealing a bitter smile, "I didn't expect that we would meet again in this way."

"You... you are still alive? What is going on?" Dr. Li's mind was full of questions. She couldn't understand how a dead person could suddenly appear here and walk out of the time tunnel.

"It's a long story..." Roccod took a deep breath, and the violent cough made him spit out blood again. "Now is not the time to talk about this. Dr. Li, you have to believe me, the other end of the time tunnel... connects to destruction!"

Although Roccod's voice was weak, it was full of unquestionable determination. His eyes swept over everyone in the control room and finally fell on Dr. Li. "Only I can stop this, but... I need your help."

Dr. Li was silent. She clenched her fists tightly and struggled internally. She could not forget what Rocot had done, nor could she completely believe what he said. However, looking at the miserable state of this once arrogant man, she felt an indescribable sympathy in her heart.

"Dr. Li, don't hesitate!" a researcher shouted anxiously, "The space-time tunnel has begun to collapse. If it is not closed, we will all die here!"

"Shut up!" Dr. Li turned his head sharply and glared at the researcher. "I have the final say here!"

The researcher was frightened by Dr. Li's aura and dared not speak anymore.

Dr. Li took a deep breath and forced herself to calm down. She looked at Roccod and said word by word: "Roccod, why should I believe you? You used to be..."

"Dr. Li!" Roccod suddenly interrupted Dr. Li. He struggled to stand up, his eyes becoming more serious than ever before. "I know you hate me, but now is not the time to say this. If I wanted to destroy the world, there would be no need to go through so much trouble! I came back to prevent a bigger disaster!"

Dr. Li looked into Roccod's eyes, trying to find a trace of lies, but in the end, she gave up. She could feel that Roccod was not lying, his eyes were full of sincerity and... fear.

"Okay, I'll trust you for once." Dr. Li took a deep breath and made a decision. "What do you want us to do?"

"Immediately evacuate everyone in the institute and close the space-time tunnel!" Roccod's voice was filled with an unquestionable command, "Then, prepare the fastest spaceship for me. I want to go somewhere..."

Although Dr. Li still had many questions in her mind, she still followed Locot's instructions and began to direct the staff in the institute to evacuate.

However, at this moment, a more violent explosion suddenly came from outside the control room, the entire control room shook violently, the lights on the ceiling went out completely, and the entire control room fell into darkness.

"What's going on?!" Dr. Li exclaimed.

"Damn it! They're breaking in!" a researcher yelled in horror.

"Who are they? The Obsidian Legion?"

"No! They... they are not human!"

In the darkness, a researcher's terrified scream suddenly stopped, replaced by a creepy chewing sound...

The sound of the sticky liquid dripping was particularly clear in the darkness, like some kind of terrifying countdown. Dr. Li felt her heart pounding in her chest, and she groped the wall, trying to find the switch for the backup power supply.

"Damn, what on earth is that?" A researcher's voice trembled with obvious fear, "Is it the biological weapon of the Obsidian Legion?"

"No! Although the Obsidian Legion is crazy, it is not to the point of..." The other voice stopped abruptly, replaced by a scream and a horrifying tearing sound.

"ah!!"

Dr. Li shuddered. She seemed to be able to feel the invisible fear spreading in the darkness, devouring everyone's sanity. She touched the switch and pressed it hard, but the expected light did not come on. The entire control room was still shrouded in suffocating darkness.

"The backup power supply has also failed... We are trapped here!" a researcher growled in despair.

Roccod coughed violently several times, holding his chest, blood seeping out from between his fingers, which was particularly shocking in the darkness. "Don't panic, they... are afraid of light!"

"Are you afraid of light? The entire control room is out of power. Where are we going to find a light source?!"

Roccod did not answer. He struggled to stand up. In the dim light, Dr. Li saw him take out a metal ball from his arms. The surface of the ball was engraved with complex patterns, emitting a faint blue light, illuminating his pale and cold face.

"What is this?" Dr. Li asked with a slight tremor in his voice.

"This is..." Before Rocot finished his words, the metal sphere suddenly burst into a dazzling light, instantly illuminating the entire control room.

Dr. Li closed her eyes subconsciously, and when she opened them again, the scene before her made her gasp.

Those creatures that were originally hiding in the darkness were now exposed to the strong light, revealing their hideous true faces.

They were like monsters crawling out of a nightmare, with twisted bodies and sickly gray-green skin covered with pus and festering wounds. They had no eyes, only a huge mouth full of sharp teeth, which was now dripping with disgusting mucus.

"What the hell is that..." a researcher muttered to himself, his legs went limp and he fell to the ground.

"They... came from the other end of the time-space tunnel..." Roccod's voice was low and hoarse, with a hint of fear that was difficult to conceal, "They are... void creatures!"

"Void creatures?" Dr. Li exclaimed, "What are those?"

"A kind of creature... from the void. They live by devouring life energy. Wherever they go, no grass grows..." Roccod's tone was filled with despair. "I came back to stop them from invading this world..."

"Then why did you open the time tunnel?!" Dr. Li roared.

"I..." Roccod was about to explain, but was interrupted by a roar.

Those void creatures seemed to be angered by the strong light. They let out deafening roars, opened their bloody mouths, and pounced towards everyone!

"Run!" Roccod roared, and the metal ball in his hand burst out with dazzling light again, blasting a void creature in the front into pieces.

The control room suddenly became chaotic, and the researchers fled in panic. However, where could they escape to in such a small space?
