Rocot: Reborn
Chapter 265
The laser beams drew dazzling arcs of light in the air, and swept towards the soldiers with a whistling sound of death. Claire's pupils suddenly shrank. He had never seen such a strange scene. It was as if the laser beams had their own consciousness and turned into sharp blades in Roccod's hands, harvesting lives wantonly.
"Get out of the way! Get out of the way!" Claire screamed at the top of her lungs, but it was too late.
Screams, wails, and the creaking of twisted metal intertwined into a terrifying symphony of hell on earth in an instant. Before the soldiers could even react, they were torn apart and burned by the laser beams, turning into charred pieces of flesh that scattered on the cold laboratory floor.
"Hahaha, see? This is the power of you ants! You are so weak!" Rocot laughed arrogantly, his laughter was full of the pleasure of revenge and contempt for life. He was like a bloodthirsty beast, greedily enjoying the bloody scene in front of him, as if only this could wash away the endless hatred and humiliation in his heart.
Claire fell to his knees helplessly, his hands trembling. He tried to hold the gun tightly, but found that he had lost all his strength. The desperate eyes of the soldiers before they died appeared in front of his eyes, and their painful cries echoed in his ears. His heart seemed to be tightly grasped by an invisible big hand, and he was almost suffocated.
"Why? Why do you have to do this? They are just following orders, why do you want to kill them all?" Claire's voice was hoarse and weak, like a question, but more like a plea.
Rocot slowly walked up to Claire and looked down at him, his eyes flashing with a cold light. "Following orders? What a ridiculous excuse! Since they have chosen to stand on your side, they should be prepared to bear the consequences. This world is a world of the jungle, where the winners take all. Don't you understand?"
He suddenly raised his foot and stepped hard on Claire's chest. Claire felt a sharp pain, as if his ribs were about to break. He coughed painfully a few times, a trace of blood flowed from the corner of his mouth, but he was powerless to resist.
"Claire, who do you think you are? Do you think you really understand me? I tell you, everything you see is just what I want you to see! Do you think I am really angry because of your betrayal? You are wrong, I am just using you to help me complete my plan!"
Rocot's voice was cold and ruthless, like a sharp blade, piercing into Claire's heart and completely tearing apart his last hope and fantasy.
Claire looked at the devil-like man in front of him in disbelief. He once trusted him so much and regarded him as his best friend. He was even willing to give everything for him, but what he got in the end was such cruel betrayal and hurt.
"Why? Why are you doing this?" Claire squeezed out these words from between his teeth with difficulty. His voice trembled, full of pain and despair.
"Why?" Rocot suddenly burst into laughter, his laughter full of sarcasm and disdain, "Claire, you are so naive! There is no such thing as a why in this world, only success and failure! I succeeded, so I am righteous! You failed, so you are a sinner!"
He suddenly tightened the force on his foot, and Claire groaned in pain. Everything went dark before her eyes, and her consciousness gradually blurred...
At this moment, the door of the laboratory was suddenly pushed open from the outside, and a group of people wearing black combat uniforms and holding weapons rushed in.
"Stop! Rocot, you're surrounded!" The leading woman shouted loudly. Her voice was cold and firm, as if carrying an irresistible force.
Rocot slowly turned around and looked at the group of uninvited guests at the door, a cold smile on his face.
"Interesting, it seems there are quite a few guests tonight. But, do you think you can stop me?"
The metal door of the laboratory made a teeth-grinding twisting sound and a group of men in black rushed in like a black torrent. They were well-trained and moved quickly. The energy weapons in their hands emitted a faint blue light, instantly illuminating the originally dim laboratory as if it were daytime.
The leading woman had neat short silver hair, a stern face and sharp eyes that left no doubt about the weight of her words. She was wearing a tight black combat uniform, with two peculiarly shaped energy pistols on her waist. She exuded a dangerous aura, like a hunter from the abyss, locking onto her prey.
"Stop! Rocot! You're surrounded!" Her voice was as cold as metal, echoing in the spacious laboratory, and every word struck Rocot's nerves.
Rocot smiled contemptuously, turned around slowly, and looked down at the uninvited guests. There was no fear in his eyes, only ridicule and disdain. He elegantly brushed off the non-existent dust on his sleeves and said in a nonchalant tone: "Hey, isn't this our 'Ice Queen' Miss Elena? Why, you are here to join in the fun too? I thought you would hide in your headquarters, trembling and waiting for my judgment."
Elena looked at Rokod coldly, her eyes filled with disgust and anger: "Rokod, stop pretending! The crimes you have committed are too numerous to list, today is the day for you to be brought to justice!"
"Crime? Hahaha..." Rocot laughed as if he had heard a big joke, his laughter full of madness and ridicule, "There is no justice or sin in this world, only the strong and the weak! I, Rocot, am destined to be the master of this world! And you, these ants, are only worthy of crawling at my feet, trembling and begging for my mercy!"
"Arrogant!" Elena shouted angrily, and the energy gun in her hand instantly shot out a dazzling blue beam, heading straight for Roccod's forehead.
Roccod was prepared and dodged Elena's attack easily with a flash of his body. The blue beam of light flew past his cheek and left a charred mark on the wall behind him.
"Is that all you can do? Elena, it seems that your strength is just this level." Roccod laughed contemptuously, his tone full of mockery.
Elena didn't say anything, but just looked at Rokod coldly, with a dangerous light flashing in her eyes. The men in black behind her also raised their weapons and aimed at Rokod, and a battle was about to break out.
"Locked, surrender! You have no way to escape!" Elena warned again, but she felt vaguely uneasy in her heart. There was always that creepy smile on Locked's face, as if everything was under his control.
"No way to escape? Haha, Elena, you underestimated me." Roccod's smile suddenly became weird. He slowly raised his right hand, and a dangerous red light flashed in his palm. "Let me show you what real power is!"
At this moment, the huge experimental device behind Roccod suddenly made a deafening roar, and a dazzling red light gushed out from the core of the device, covering the entire laboratory in a blood-red light. A powerful energy wave quickly spread out from the laboratory to the surroundings...
"No! Stop him!" Elena's face changed drastically. She realized what Rokod was going to do, but it was too late...
