Rebirth in a Book: The Road to Breakthrough

Chapter 116 Yu Congcong's decision and Su Ting's discharge from hospital

Yu Congcong was silent after hearing this. Her beautiful eyebrows slightly frowned, and a trace of worry was revealed in her eyes. She fell into deep thought, racking her brains to think of solutions to these thorny problems. She knew very well that the only way to solve the problem might be to open a factory. However, she was particularly unhappy when she thought about letting the greedy and corrupt officials in the town take this opportunity to make money.

I returned home in lush thoughts and confusion.

Seeing Yu Congcong frowning, Liu Dani asked with concern, "Congcong, what's wrong?"

She said to Aunt Liu distressedly: "Aunt Liu, I am really confused and don't know what to do."

"What's so tangled?" Liu Dani wondered if there was something Cong Cong couldn't solve.

Yu Congcong talked about the troubles the cooperative soy sauce company in the village had encountered over the years and the solutions she had come up with now.

"Aunt Liu, turning the village soy sauce cooperative into a factory may take a lot of effort and may fail. It may also lead to some loss of profits in the short term."

Aunt Liu looked at her admiringly and said firmly: "Congcong, just go for it. No matter what decision you make, Aunt Liu will fully support you. You will succeed too." Yu Congcong looked at Liu Dani with emotion, and felt more warmth and strength in her heart.

Xiaocao also heard their conversation.

Grandma asked with concern: "Congcong, why are you still so entangled?"

Yu Congcong frowned and said, "Grandma, I'm worried that I will encounter many difficulties if I return to the village to run a factory. I don't know if I can handle it."

Grandma smiled and said earnestly: "Congcong, there will always be difficulties, but as long as you are determined, you can overcome them. Moreover, your return to the village to set up a factory is also for the good of all of us." After listening to her grandmother's words, Yu Congcong gradually untied the confusion in her heart.

She knew very well that if she cooperated with these officials, the interests of the factory would be difficult to protect and might even be plundered by them.

After careful consideration, Yu Congcong realized that in order to avoid official corruption, he must seek cooperation with higher-level governments, which might reduce some unnecessary troubles and risks.

However, new problems arose. The factory must be managed by villagers to better protect their interests. But who else could she find to manage it except herself?

This series of problems intertwined together, making Yu Congcong feel extremely difficult. For a moment, she felt that her head was about to explode. Her heart was full of contradictions and entanglements.

After saying goodbye to Yuan Zhe, Feng De and Hou Bao headed straight toward the village. Along the way, they discussed how to discuss with the team leader about picking up Su Ting from the hospital.

"The captain is always reasonable. I think he will understand our request," said Feng De.

"Yes, Su Ting's condition does require her to rest well, and the environment in the village may be more suitable for her recovery." Hou Bao nodded in agreement.

After arriving at the village committee, they met the team leader.

"Captain, we have something to discuss with you." Feng De said.

"Oh? What's the matter?" asked the captain.

Hou Bao continued, "It's like this. Su Zhiqing has been in the hospital for surgery for two or three days. The doctor said she can be discharged and return to the village to recuperate. But we need to use the village mule cart to pick her up."

The captain thought for a moment and said, "Is Su Ting's condition serious?"

Feng De replied: "I heard from Yuan Zhe that her wound has not yet fully healed and she needs to rest well."

The captain frowned and said, "Then we have to arrange a stable mule cart to ensure that she will not be bumped on the road."

Hou Bao nodded quickly and said, "Captain, you are very thoughtful. Let's go pick her up tomorrow."

The team leader agreed to their plan and told them to set off early and take good care of Su Zhiqing on the way.

After thinking hard all night, Yu Congcong finally made a decision - to return to the village to set up a factory.

Early in the morning of the second day, Yu Congcong told her grandmother and Aunt Liu about her decision. Xiaocao and Liu Dani both expressed their support.

When Zhang Yun rode his bicycle to take Yu Congcong to work, the morning sun shone on them, casting long shadows. Yu Congcong hesitated for a moment, and finally mustered up the courage to tell Zhang Yun his decision.

Zhang Yun pedaled his bicycle and was silent for a while. Then he said slowly, "Congcong, have you thought about it? Your decision may not be appreciated by the villagers, especially those who come later."

"Brother Zhang Yun, I don't want their gratitude. It's enough for me to have a clear conscience. Doing this may cause some villagers to not understand, and there may be losses in the short term. But I promise that in the long run, the villagers will get more benefits." Yu Congcong looked ahead with a firm gaze and pedaled the bicycle harder.

She turned her head to look at Zhang Yun, and continued, "Besides, it's impossible for a human being to satisfy everyone and be liked by everyone. The support and gratitude of some people are enough." Her voice was clear and firm, as if this decision had already taken root in her heart.

Zhang Yun listened attentively, his eyes revealing admiration and appreciation for Yu Congcong.

"Since you have made up your mind and thought it through so clearly, Brother Zhang Yun will fully support you. I will do my best to help you." Zhang Yun said with a smile.

"Thank you, Brother Zhang Yun!" A happy smile appeared on Lu Congcong's face.

The two smiled at each other, their hearts filled with warmth and strength. They pedaled their bicycles hard and rushed towards the town. The breeze blew on their faces, as if cheering for their determination and courage.

Feng De and Hou Bao got up at two or three in the morning and rushed to the hospital early. Yuan Zhe had already made preparations for Su Ting to be discharged from the hospital.

"Su Zhiqing, we are here to take you back to the village." Feng De said with a smile.

Yuan Zhe looked at them gratefully and said, "Thank you, thank you for your trouble."

Hou Bao quickly said, "Don't be polite. We are all educated youth from the same village. It's only natural for us to help each other."

Along the way, villagers saw the mule cart and asked curiously.

"Who are you picking up?"

"It's Su Ting. She had surgery and her wound hasn't healed yet, so she came back to recuperate." Feng De replied.

"Oh, is Su Ting's condition serious?" asked another villager.

"The doctor said the wound hasn't healed completely yet," said Hou Bao.

The villagers expressed their sympathy and urged them to take good care of Su Zhiqing.

Finally, the mule cart arrived at Widow Wang's house, and Yuan Zhe carefully helped her off the cart.

"Su Ting, have a good rest. Just let me know if you need anything." Hou Bao said.

"Thank you, I will take good care of myself." Su Ting said gratefully.

Yuan Zhe gratefully sent them out and thanked them again: "Feng De, Hou Bao, thank you for your time!"
