Hogwarts: The Savior's Strong Cousin

Chapter 9 The most touching episode, who can sign an unbreakable oath right away?

"So, Dudley Dursley, how do you know all this?"

In the office of the Headmaster's Tower, Dumbledore looked at the young man in front of him and rubbed his head in distress.

"A hallucination? Or a dream? It's hard to tell, dear professor."

Dudley shrugged, sat down on the chair very familiarly, and looked at the decoration in the office curiously.

After all, this is the wizarding world. Such "prophecies" would definitely be exposed in the Muggle world, but in Hogwarts, they are undoubtedly the universal answer to all problems. Moreover, Dudley knows Dumbledore's style very well. He will never use some forbidden black magic to spy on his thoughts.

"Some time ago, your bedroom in Privet Drive was destroyed by a bolt of lightning."

"After that, your attitude towards Harry changed drastically."

"So who are you anyway?"

Dumbledore's tone became serious. He could not allow any variables to occur in Hogwarts.

“One has one’s sources, and you can trust me completely.”

"At least, I'm not that... bald guy's subordinate."

Dudley untied the system's constraints, and then his bones began to make a clacking sound. Soon, a sturdy man about two meters thirty-four meters tall appeared in front of Dumbledore.

"Ah... Giant bloodline, that's not hard to understand."

Dumbledore hesitated for a moment, then nodded quickly. Although he didn't know what means Dudley used to conceal his giant bloodline, at least he took good care of Harry. As for his fighting ability...even a wizard like Malfoy was knocked down by him with one punch. Perhaps for the lifeless magic world, such a new student could also help the future development?

"Well, can you promise? Can you make an unbreakable vow?"

After thinking for a moment, Dumbledore held out his hand to Dudley.

Dudley certainly knew what Dumbledore was talking about. Just like that year, he "witnessed" Severus Snape swearing an oath to Draco's mother Narcissa. In short, this was a true magical contract, and the rarest of the four major magical contracts.

No one can guarantee what will happen in the future, and no one can guarantee whether they will break their oath in the future. After all, if the "unbreakable oath" is violated, the person who breaks it will die immediately.

with no exceptions.

"Although it is an unequal treaty, I accept it."

"Does it require a third person to be present?"

Dudley's tone was beyond Dumbledore's expectations. It was light-hearted, humorous, and even had a kind of urging impatience.

"You have to think carefully. The power of the contract cannot be violated by any external force. If you... have to violate it, I still have other opportunities."

Dumbledore's expression remained calm, but his heart was in turmoil.

From Dudley's tone, he knew clearly how the contract was drawn up, so he also naturally knew that the severe punishment behind this contract was far more powerful than the "blood contract" he had signed with his former friend.

"I probably understand a little bit about what happened back then."

"To protect Harry, right?"

"In terms of kinship, he is my cousin. As his older brother who is one month older than me, I have the obligation to take care of him."

"From other perspectives, I don't have a good impression of green and dark magic."

"So, what are you waiting for? Is the witness Professor McGonagall? Or is it Severus?"

Dudley still kept that smile, but he kept looking into Dumbledore's eyes. They looked at each other for a moment, then Dumbledore sighed and clapped his hands gently.

The door opened and Professor McGonagall, looking worried, slowly walked into the office.

"Ah, dear Mrs. McGonagall, thank you for your concern for Harry's life. You know, grey tabby cats are not very common."

Dudley made a playful joke, and Professor McGonagall stared at Dumbledore with wide eyes in surprise. The old headmaster just nodded and motioned her to take out her wand. Dudley knelt on one knee and held Dumbledore's old right hand.

"So, Dudley, will you look after Harry Potter until he comes of age?"

Dumbledore almost trembled as he asked this question.

"I am willing."

Dudley answered quickly, and a flaming oath line spurted out of the wand, wrapping itself around the hands of Dumbledore and Dudley with heat.

"Are you willing to do your best to protect him from harm?"

"I am willing."

The second tongue of fire was entwined, and the chain of red light flashed, hooking the two people who had taken the oath. The wand in Professor McGonagall's hand trembled slightly, and she looked at Dudley with disbelief.

"If necessary...if Harry, for whatever reason, has to fight the Dark Lord..."

"Are you willing to assist Harry Potter in fulfilling his mission?"

After a long silence, Dumbledore uttered the last oath. He looked deeply at the tall boy in front of him, as if he was looking directly into his soul.

"I am willing."

Without hesitation, Dudley said this quickly.

The third oath chain was particularly dazzling, and it made Professor McGonagall's face red, as well as Dudley and Dumbledore's. The three oath chains were entangled together, like a fire-breathing snake.

"The oath is made, Dudley Dursley. On my honor, I believe you."

Dumbledore breathed a sigh of relief, as if he was freed. He waved his hand, signaling Professor McGonagall to take Dudley away.

He has seen too many shocking things today.

Whether it was the flattery of the Sorting Hat or his understanding of himself and Severus, it proved that there were many things about Dudley that he did not understand. Even with his experience, he could not understand why Dudley Dursley, a boy from a Muggle family, who was only one year older than the eleven-year-old Harry Potter, knew so much about him.

However, he no longer wanted to ask.

Out of politeness and trust, Albus felt an unprecedented hope in his heart.

Maybe a Muggle "wizard" can really bring miracles?

"I'm not going to ask what Albus said to you."

"But...Merlin's beard, how did you know that I was observing Harry's life?"

Walking in the dark corridor, Professor McGonagall couldn't help but ask the boy beside her out of curiosity.

"It's very simple."

"Because Dudley used to kick dogs whenever he saw one."

"Under such circumstances, how could such a bold stray cat appear near Privet Drive?"

Minerva McGonagall couldn't help but smile at the boy's answer.

This was her first encounter with "Muggle wisdom".

Of course, it won’t be the last time.
