The Witcher: Son of the Planes.

Chapter 17: Attack of the Emerald Territory

A month and a half later, Jade Leader.

Simon, who had purchased supplies, also came back and brought support from Marquis Johnson's mansion. During this period, the slave trader Barto also sent several batches of slaves.

The island is developing very rapidly. The castle has been basically built, and the walls are no longer made of wood. Most of them have been replaced with stone walls. Two new shops have been opened, the blacksmith shop (run by Eric, who has the strength of a low-level knight squire) and the alchemy shop (run by Ivan, who has the strength of a low-level magician apprentice).

The Emerald Territory has 5 low-level knight attendants, 3 mid-level knight attendants, 1 high-level knight attendant, 1 low-level magician apprentice, and 1 mid-level magician apprentice.

Military strength: 120 spearmen (in charge of the brothers Gavin and Gary, both are low-level knight squires), 30 archery scouts (only good soldiers are qualified to learn archery, Joshua is in charge, low-level knight squire; archery instructor of the militia), 30 musketeers (Kino is in charge, low-level knight squire; musketeer instructor of the militia), 25 cavalry (all are above the strength of apprentice knight squire, Alex is in charge, senior knight squire), 30 castle guards (Matthew is in charge, intermediate knight squire; equestrian instructor of the militia), 1200 militia training team (including 1000 slaves, who will be gradually supplemented with various arms or reclaimed farmers after the basic training is completed. Robert August is the chief instructor, an intermediate knight squire; the resident instructor of the training team is Knight Gary).

Internal affairs structure: The castle has an administrative office, which is headed by Gandalf, and is under the jurisdiction of a 100-person trade and transportation team (headed by Simon), an additional military supply and logistics department (headed by Knight Gawain), and 600 reclaimed farmers (headed by Robert August). Based on the existing development areas, two villages are planned around the castle. One is located between the castle and the forest to the east, named Giant Wood Village; the other is located between the castle and the pier, named Sand River Village.

……

Three months was not a long time, but Colin had completely adapted to life on the island. He was growing very fast, and he had already felt the Qi a few days ago. His skillful application of the Knight's Breathing Method had allowed Colin to grow into an apprentice knight squire.

Colin knew that his days in the training team were numbered and he would be reassigned soon. He hoped to join the archery scout team or the cavalry team, but where he would be assigned was not up to him.

A few days ago, I met Nora again. The thirteen-year-old Nora has grown up to be a graceful person. It is a bit strange to say that people in this world mature very quickly. It is said that girls can get married at the age of fourteen, and Colin himself is only fifteen years old, which is no less than a 20-year-old man in his previous life.

Nora was very happy about Colin's growing strength, and she kept talking to Colin about things like "the young lady is making trouble in the Baron's study again, Benny and Master George are getting closer, or Aunt Mary's cooking skills have improved again."

Listening to Nora's story, Colin was very relieved. Nora had completely gotten rid of the sadness of her mother's death and integrated into this place.

"By the way, brother, Miss Helen seems to be reading some magic book recently." Nora said suddenly.

"Hmm? Magic? A new path to transcendence?" Colin thought.

"Nora, if you have a chance, take a look in the Baron's study to see if there are any books introducing this world, or any books on the history of the Principality. We still know too little."

"Okay, brother, I'll tell you what I see." Nora responded in Colin's ear.

Looking at Nora who was very close to him, whose figure had already taken shape under the maid outfit, and as the unknown pleasant fragrance emanating from Nora entered his nose, Colin touched his nose a little embarrassedly.

"Isn't it too evil? Nora is my adopted sister, and she is only thirteen years old..." Colin has been practicing the Knight's Breathing Method recently, and his strength has increased a lot, but he always has a feeling of having strength but nowhere to use it.

"What's wrong, brother? Are you not feeling well? If you're fine, I'll go back first." Nora said innocently.

"Nora, you go back first. I'll sit for a while before leaving." Colin waved his hand and watched Nora leave.

……

Castle study.

"My lord, Simon has brought a letter from the Marquis," Gandalf said, handing the letter to Richard August.

"Call Simon in," Richard said after reading the letter.

……

"Master, you are looking for me?" Simon said.

"Simon, does the Marquis have any other instructions?"

"There's nothing else, except that Master Joseph seems to have angered the Marquis, and Count Terry seems to be helping Master Joseph select noble ladies from the capital... Master Joseph seems to be still blaming you for marrying a lady that year." Simon replied.

"Ha, Lilibet and I are in love freely, how can it bother him? In recent years, the principality has been at war constantly. Instead of fighting with your brothers, you go to the empire to fool around, and you still have the nerve to blame me." As he spoke, Richard recalled the past when he and Joseph practiced hard together when they were young.

As a knight of the Cavendish family, Richard and a group of other young men of the family were trained and raised together with Joseph since childhood, and they had a very good relationship. However, due to the war in the Principality, they were separated for many years. Joseph went to the Empire to study for a few years, while Richard won the heart of Joseph's sister Lilibet. Joseph had always been brooding over this matter.

"It's nothing. I'll be downstairs, sir." Simon said after seeing that Baron Richard didn't say anything for a long time.

Seeing that Richard didn't move, Gandalf waved his hand and let Simon go.

Richard came back to his senses, "Is Simon gone?"

"I see, sir, you have no other orders, so let him go," Gandalf replied.

"What is Helen doing these days?"

"Miss seems to be very interested in magic recently."

"Have you tested your qualifications?"

"I have never tested her. With my level, I can only teach her some basic common sense. If she wants to learn magic systematically, she must at least go to the capital. The atmosphere of the academy is good and suitable for her to study."

"...Let's talk about it later. She's still young. Besides, Lilibet and I are reluctant to let her go. Please take some time to give her a test to see if she has the qualifications in this area." Richard said.

"Okay, sir."

……

"What is this? Grandpa Gandalf." Helen August asked, looking at the crystal ball in front of her.

"Crystal ball, Helen."

"What is it for? It's pretty."

"Haven't you been reading a book about magic recently? This is a tool to test whether you can learn magic."

"Is there really magic?" Helen asked curiously.

Looking at Helen's curious expression, Gandalf didn't recite any spell, but soon a ball of fire ignited in his hand.

"It's so magical." Helen said and wanted to touch it.

Gandalf quickly extinguished the fireball, "This is very hot, let's test it first."

"How to test."

"Put your hand on this crystal ball, let your mind go, and you will get the result in a moment."

Helen did as she was told, and soon the crystal ball lit up with blue light.

"It's the affinity with the water element." Gandalf thought to himself.

"Okay, Helen, that's enough."

"Grandpa Gandalf, do I have this talent?"

"You can focus on water magic. You can also study other magic, but the effect won't be as good as water magic. Unfortunately, I majored in mysticism and fire magic, but some basic knowledge is still the same. If you are interested, I can teach you."

……

"Nora, Benny, do you know? Grandpa Gandalf said that I have a talent for magic and can practice magic." After returning to her residence, Helen happily said to the two maids.

"What is magic?" Benny asked casually.

"I'm not sure, but it looks very powerful. Grandpa Gandalf created a fireball in an instant." Helen replied.

"Will it be dangerous, miss?" Nora said.

"That shouldn't be the case. Besides, Grandpa Gandalf is here. He will take care of me."
