Gu Ning opened her eyes and saw Gu Jing grabbing her arm and shaking her. Gu Lin was standing beside her, looking at her with red and swollen eyes.

Great! I saw my brothers and sisters right after entering the underworld.

My younger brother and sister still look the same as they did when they were eight years old, but the scene before me seems a little familiar.

"Sister, I'm hungry too." Gu Lin said.

Gu Ning turned around and looked at the room. Wasn’t this the time when he just moved into his new home?

She looked down at her hands. They were not skinny, dark and wrinkled hands, but a pair of tender, white and slender jade hands.

She ran to the table, picked up the mirror and looked at herself in the mirror.

Fair skin, straight nose, black hair, and eyes red and swollen from crying, doesn't this look like a teenager?

"I'm reborn! Back to 1994!" In the Internet age, Gu Ning used to read online novels to kill time in his spare time. He never thought that one day he would be reborn.

She remembered the lamp He Feng lit for her in the Taoist temple, and the charity he did in her name. Was this the rebirth that He Feng had prayed for by accumulating merit for himself?

I never thought that my casual act of kindness would bring me such a huge reward from He Feng.

"Sister, sister."

Gu Ning came to his senses after hearing the screams. It should have been the third day since his parents had the car accident. Unfortunately, he came back too late and was unable to prevent his parents' death.

"Sister will make breakfast for you now."

Holding one child by hand, Gu Ning asked the twins to sit in the living room while she went to the kitchen to cook.

There was a bag of noodles, a few eggs, and a bunch of wilted vegetables in the kitchen. Gu Ning cooked a pot of noodles and brought it out, serving a bowl to each of his younger brothers and sisters, and putting a poached egg on each of them.

The two children were indeed very hungry. They picked up the noodles with chopsticks, blew on them, and stuffed them into their mouths, unlike usual when they would talk nonsense while eating.

In just a cup of tea, all the soup in the two large bowls was gone.

"Are you full?"

"Sister, I can eat some more." Gu Lin looked at the noodles in Gu Ning's bowl eagerly.

Gu Jing's eyes also fell on the noodles.

"Eating too much at once is bad for your stomach. Your belly will burst, and you'll have to go to the hospital for surgery, and sew it up little by little with needle and thread." Gu Ning threatened them.

Remembering the fear of the injection, the two of them stopped insisting on eating and took their bowls to the kitchen to wash them and put them away.

Gu Ning remembered that the car that was involved in the car accident in his previous life would be taken away by Gu Jianshan to be destroyed tomorrow, so he had to keep the car before he destroyed the evidence.

She found the police officer's phone number on the desk in the room. It was left to her by Uncle Jiang Ze. She could call him anytime if she had any questions.

I entered the phone number on my home landline, and after two beeps someone answered the call.

"Hello! This is the Yichang County Public Security Bureau. How can I help you?"

A male voice came from the phone.

"My name is Gu Ning, I'm looking for Police Officer Jiang Ze."

Someone on the other end of the phone called Jiang Ze to answer the phone. After a moment, someone picked up the phone and said, "This is Jiang Ze."

"Uncle Jiang, I'm Gu Ning. Can you come to my house? I have something important to tell you about my parents' car accident."

"Okay, I'll go there with a colleague now, you wait for us at home."

"Okay!" After Gu Ning hung up the phone, she saw two little ones standing beside her, staring at her without blinking.

"Sister, will the police come to our house later?" Gu Jing asked.

Gu Ning nodded, "Let's go sit on the sofa and wait for the police to come."

Half an hour later, the doorbell rang and Gu Jing ran to open the door.

Jiang Ze came in with another colleague, and Gu Ning poured a cup of brewed tea for each of them.

"This is my colleague Xie Wen. Come on, tell me something important." Jiang Ze said, and Xie Wen took out his notebook to take notes.

"Uncle Jiang, I suspect my parents' deaths were planned and the car was tampered with."

"Why do you say that? Do you have any evidence?" Jiang Ze asked.

Xie Wen next to him was writing down the notes quickly in his notebook.

"Two days before my parents got into the car accident, my uncle came to my house to borrow money, but my dad refused to lend it to him, and the two of them started arguing."

"Do you know how much to borrow?"

Gu Ning replied, "One hundred thousand! He said he wanted to invest in some business, but my father refused. Our own factory still lacks funds to expand production."

"My dad and my uncle had a big fight, and my mom finally persuaded them to stop. My mom had already prepared dinner, but my uncle refused to eat, so he borrowed my dad's car, saying he was going to pick up a friend and would drive back the next day."

Gu Ning discovered that his memory had suddenly improved. When he recalled the past thirty years or so, it seemed as if it had just happened.

"My uncle drove the car back the next morning. My parents drove to the factory in the afternoon and the accident happened on the way."

Jiang Ze knocked on the table. "Do you suspect that Gu Jianshan tampered with the car and harmed your parents?"

"Uncle Jiang, if you check the car, you will know if my suspicion is correct. The car will be handed over to the scrapyard tomorrow, and I'm afraid Gu Jianshan will destroy the evidence." Gu Ning said.

"Sister," Gu Lin, who was sitting next to us, suddenly said, "Yesterday my eldest cousin came to our house to burn incense for my parents. He told me that my parents had died and that our house, factory, car, and money all belonged to them."

Gu Lin tilted his head, thought for a moment, and then said, "He also said that he would sell my sister for a good price after she graduated from junior high school."

"He also said that grandpa and grandma would take us to live in the countryside.

He would take my second sister and me to play in the river and let us accompany our parents.

My eldest cousin also said that grandma called our family bastards and said we didn’t deserve to live in a good house and deserved to die.”

Gu Ning felt a chill run down her spine after hearing this. She knew that her grandparents didn't like her family and had never treated them well since they were young.

But I never expected that they would hate them so much and want to kill them. As grandparents, their hearts are really set on them.

Gu Ning subconsciously wanted to escape with his younger brother and sister, so he stood up and tried to pack his things.

Jiang Ze looked at Gu Ning who was in a panic, "What do you want to do?"

"Run for your life. If you don't, after my parents' seventh-day mourning, my uncle's family will come and kill us three siblings, some of us will sell our betrothal gifts, and some of us will drown.

They even dared to kill my parents, would they let us three little ones go?

I want to take my brothers and sisters and run away far away so that they can’t find us.”

Jiang Ze pinched his forehead and said, "Gu Ning, sit down. Do you think Uncle Xie and I are just decorations?"

Gu Ning ran over and hugged Jiang Ze's thigh, "Uncle Jiang, help!"

Gu Jing and Gu Lin also ran to Xie Wen, holding one of his legs each, howling, "Security officer, help us, we are still young, we don't want to die."

Jiang Ze and Xie Wen looked at each other, then peeled the three siblings off their legs.

"If this is true, we will never let a bad guy go. We will go back and investigate the evidence now. You guys stay at home."

Gu Ning watched the two policemen go downstairs before turning around and closing the door.
