The Adventures of the Crying Princess

Chapter 24: The Secret of King Mu

In order to find out the truth about Princess Suihua's coma, Su Beichen followed the tunnel to the backyard of Prince Mu's mansion after nightfall. He wanted to visit Princess Mu to find out the truth.

As soon as he walked out of the tunnel, Su Beichen realized something was wrong. He came to the door of the woodshed and saw that the broken wooden door was locked.

I peeked through the crack in the door and found that there was no candlelight inside. It was pitch black from the outside. A thin figure was leaning on the firewood.

Su Beichen looked around and confirmed that no one was there. He then gently knocked on the wooden door and said, "Little Princess, are you in there?"

After knocking a few more times, there was still no response. Su Beichen felt something was wrong and shook the iron lock to break it open, but he was worried that the noise would be too loud and attract the secret guards in the mansion.

Just when he was in a dilemma, a man in black suddenly appeared. He walked forward, pulled out a silver needle from his head, and stirred it in the keyhole for a few times. With a "click", the lock opened.

The wooden door opened, and the man in black took out a fire starter and handed it to Su Beichen. Su Beichen hesitated for a moment, took it, lit it, and pushed open the wooden door. Suddenly, the pale face of Princess Mu came into view.

Su Beichen hurriedly stepped forward to pick him up and walked out without thinking. After a few steps, he was stopped by the man in black.

Worried that the identity of the man in black might be suspicious, Su Beichen dodged and jumped onto the treetops on tiptoe while holding the man.

Su Beichen carried Princess Mu and headed straight to Prince Yi's mansion. He forcefully knocked on Yuwen Ji's bedroom door.

Yuwen Ji finally managed to coax Bai Yimeng to sleep, but he was woken up just as he fell asleep. He yawned, squinted his eyes, and glanced at Su Beichen, "Aren't you going to sleep at this late hour?"

"Hurry up and wake up, look who I brought here?" Su Beichen excitedly put Princess Mu down, "You said King Mu is so cruel that he locked up his own daughter.

Today I wanted to know about Princess Suihua, but unexpectedly, I found out that Princess Mu was locked up."

After listening to Su Beichen's narration, Yuwen Ji immediately came to his senses and said, "Please, how a father and daughter get along is none of your business.

However, the situation of Princess Mu before and after she was abducted was somewhat similar to that of Xiaobai. If it is as you said, Princess Suihua fainted, it might also be related to King Mu.

But no matter what, you brought people to my palace. If King Mu knew about it, I would be speechless. Aren't you trying to harm me?"

Yuwen Ji felt helpless and waved his hands, "Send the person back quickly before King Mu finds out."

"Your Highness, you didn't see where Princess Mu lived. It was a woodshed where even servants wouldn't live." Su Beichen looked down at the unconscious Princess An Min, "If Your Highness is afraid of being implicated, I will take her back to the Imperial Tutor's Mansion."

"Don't do that. With Master Su's temper, he can beat you to death." Yuwen Ji had no choice but to keep the man. Perhaps out of fear that Bai Yimeng would be disturbed, he pulled Su Beichen up to the second floor and said, "Yitong, go and ask your brother Long to come over for a midnight snack."

The second floor of Lanyue Pavilion was originally a small study room of Yuwen Ji. Bai Yimeng was still dressed as a man, which made her look a little silly. She looked chubby and cute. She looked around at everything in front of her.

Yi Tong and others guessed Bai Yimeng's identity and called her Brother Long to others.

Not long after, Bai Yimeng walked into the study, tilted his head, and looked at Princess Mu lying on the couch, "Who is she?"

"Little Princess Mu's Mansion, have you seen her before?" Yuwen Ji observed Bai Yimeng's expression.

"You saw it when you were a kid, right? I don't remember. I'm sleepy, Big Tail Wolf, I want to sleep, I don't care, I just want to sleep."

Bai Yimeng felt guilty and didn't dare to give a direct answer.

In fact, she also knew that the prank she played on the Crown Prince and the King of Qi a few days ago was most likely exposed.

Right now she was just playing dumb. As long as she didn't admit it, no one could expose her.

Su Beichen didn't pay much attention to Bai Yimeng's expression, but he was almost hurt by the name "Big Tail Wolf". "Your Highness, your nickname is quite unique."

"Go away, stop talking nonsense." Yuwen Ji glared at Su Beichen fiercely, turned his head and patiently comforted Bai Yimeng, "Xiaobai, be good, go to sleep later. Think about it first, have you seen this young lady recently?"

"Your Highness, have you forgotten that Xiaobai disappeared just after Princess Mu was found? How could they have met each other?" Su Beichen seriously suspected that Yuwen Ji had also been infected by Bai Yimeng recently and his brain was obviously not enough.

"I have seen her. I think I saw her once in a small dark room. She was sitting in the room. There were a lot of people there and I didn't dare to get close to her." In an instant, Bai Yimeng remembered the little princess whom he had met recently.

However, the light was dim at the time and she couldn't react immediately.

"Yes, it's the little house you lived in before..." Su Beichen described the furnishings in the wine cellar one by one, hoping to evoke more memories of Bai Yimeng.

Bai Yimeng lowered his head, buttoning the corner of his clothes and thinking, "Maybe, I can't remember it clearly, I just vaguely feel that I have seen it before."

Perhaps sensing that Bai Yimeng was in a bad mood, Yuwen Ji took off his fox fur and draped it over Bai Yimeng. "Xiaobai, are you sleepy? If you are, sleep here. I will take you back to your room after I finish my business."

"I'm not sleepy now. I want to play with this sister. Is that okay?" When asked by Yuwen Ji, Bai Yimeng was also very curious and wanted to know why this little Princess Mu appeared in the wine cellar.

Su Beichen had taken the pulse of Princess Mu. Although he was not good at medicine, he had a rough understanding of the basics. He could tell the difference between a sick person and a healthy one. Princess Mu was clearly not sick, which meant she was just pretending to be stupid.

At this moment, the person on the couch suddenly stood up and grabbed Bai Yimeng's neck, "Get away, stay away, or I will crush her to death."

"Are you Princess Mu?" Su Beichen's eyes were slightly surprised, and it was hard for him to believe that this was true.

“Hahaha…” Princess Mu laughed. “Lord Su, how are you? The sweet-scented osmanthus cake you gave me is delicious, but… I don’t like sweets, so it’s a bit of a waste.”

"It turns out that Princess Mu is the instigator of human trafficking. Perhaps Princess Suihua's fainting is also related to you, am I right?" Yuwen Ji looked at the little princess of Mu Palace with a sneer.

"Suihua? Human trafficking? Prince Yi, you've read too many storybooks." Princess Mu laughed so hard that she fell backwards, "Now that things have come to this, I might as well tell you.

My only goal is to cultivate the poison. Women are the purest beings in this world, and they use their pure souls as containers to raise poison worms. Your Majesty, do you think it would be possible to refine a more domineering poison worm? "

"So, Xiaobai and Princess Suihua were both poisoned by your Gu?" Su Beichen couldn't believe it. He couldn't accept that the pitiful little girl a few days ago had such an ugly face.

"Yes, this Brother Long is a girl. You should have known this a long time ago. It's good this way. We don't have to hide it. It's easier to talk." Princess Mu squeezed Bai Yimeng's neck again. "The poisonous insect I planted in her is very interesting. It's the kind that can kill people."

Yuwen Ji was stunned and could not help but step forward, "You, quickly release him and hand over the antidote."

"Release him? Antidote? Prince Yi, you are too naive. Not to mention I don't have it, even if I do, I can't give it to you. As for releasing him, that's even more impossible."

Yi Tong's voice came from outside the study, "Master, Prince Mu is here, and he wants us to call her Little Princess."

"Oh, interesting, that old guy still has the nerve to come to me?" Princess Mu's facial features were obviously distorted. "Okay, I just want to talk to him about my mother's death."

As he was speaking, Prince Mu came to Yuwen Ji's study. Just as he was about to call him to task, he was shocked by the scene before him.

"Wan'er, why are you here? It's so hard for Daddy to find you." Prince Mu looked a little upset, pretending to be calm, "Let this guy go, stop playing around, and go home with Daddy."

"Prince Mu, your son is really good at martial arts. Long Ziyin is the best guard in my palace, and she has captured him. Your Majesty really has a good way of educating his daughter." Every word of Yuwen Ji's words was sonorous, like a stone hitting Prince Mu's face.

"Prince Yi, I'm sorry. My daughter was rude today. Please forgive her for my sake." Prince Mu turned his head and looked at Princess Mu. "Wan'er, come home with daddy."

"Old Deng, don't be so hypocritical. Let's talk about how my mother died tragically back then."

Prince Mu seemed a little embarrassed, and glanced at everyone in the room, "Wan'er, things are not what you think. You were young at that time..."

"Bah!" The little princess interrupted Prince Mu, "What do you mean I was young then? Do you think I really don't remember anything?

My mother was killed by Sun. You have been protecting her all these years. In order to cover up her crimes, you have harmed me again and again.

When I was ten years old, everyone thought I had fallen into the water accidentally, but is that really the truth?

Poisoning is commonplace. Not only that, in order to cover up your crime of favoring your concubine and killing your wife, you even sent someone to kidnap me in the street and claimed to the public that I was intercepted by bandits.

If I hadn’t secretly learned Kung Fu, I would have been killed long ago…”

"Wan'er, what nonsense are you talking about? Your mother is still alive, how can you say such things?" King Mu was so anxious that he turned around and looked at Yuwen Ji for help.

Seeing that Princess Mu was very emotional, Yuwen Ji quickly pulled Prince Mu to his side and said, "Prince Mu, why don't you sit down and tell me in detail?"
