HP Princess bravely enters Hogwarts
Chapter 48 Draco Joins the Quidditch Team
The sunlight shone through the bottom of the Black Lake and onto the windows of the Slytherin dormitory, sprinkling on Draco's excited face. He jumped back and forth in front of the door of the girls' dormitory like a puppy eager to show off his new skills.
His fists pounded on Cygnus's door like raindrops, and his voice was full of impatience.
"Sister, you promised me that you would come to watch my training today!" Draco's voice came through the crack in the door, full of the boy's eagerness.
Before Sensei could respond, Pansy Parkinson opened the door in a hurry.
Draco had a smug smile on his face, and he was eager to pull Sigma away.
But he could only stand outside the threshold, stamping his feet anxiously - according to the college's rules, boys were prohibited from entering the girls' dormitory.
Segnus had just put down a heavy magic book, gently touched his forehead, and showed a helpless yet doting smile.
She knew that Draco's eagerness was not only because he wanted her to witness his training, but more because he wanted to show off his achievements in front of her.
She knew him well. He was ambitious and always wanted to be the best in everything.
"Here I am, here I am, my little star." Segnus responded in her characteristically gentle tone while adjusting her shawl.
"But you have to wait and let me, a little witch, dress up a little. After all, I can't let my brother embarrass himself in front of his classmates, right?"
As soon as Cygnus stepped out of the dormitory door, she was surrounded by Draco's warm hug.
There was a gleam in his eyes and the smile on his lips couldn't hide the excitement of what was to come.
"Sister, today!" he said excitedly, "I'm going to have my first training after joining the Quidditch team!"
As he spoke, he waved his arms as if he was already flying on the court.
"You'll see my heroic side in the audience, and I promise you'll be incredibly proud of me!"
Draco looked up, and his smooth golden hair seemed to be dancing with stars under the swaying candlelight.
Segnus smiled slightly, her eyes full of fondness and understanding, and she patted his shoulder gently.
"Well, Draco," she said softly, "we have to get going, don't we?"
In the Slytherin common room, Flint and his teammates sat together, exchanging uneasy glances.
They were all waiting for someone - Cygnus.
The last incident with Greengrass made Flint realize how powerful Segnus was. Since then, he has been in awe of this classmate.
He thought silently in his heart, God knows his family was almost expelled from the 28 Holy Families because of that incident.
Cygnus raised an eyebrow at Flint and nodded slightly. Flint nodded in understanding and led the Slytherin Quidditch team out of the bustling common room and headed towards the Quidditch pitch.
Before they even reached the pitch, they could hear Colin Creevey's excited voice from a distance: "Harry, please, just one, that move you just made was so cool!"
Colin, with a red face, was like an enthusiastic little bee, buzzing around Harry and taking pictures.
Harry felt a little helpless.
"Ha, Harry, looks like your little fan is pestering you again." Draco said jokingly.
Harry knew that Colin was famous for his obsession with him, but during this period, he was really frightened by Colin's enthusiasm.
You never know when this little guy will suddenly pop out from some corner and give you a big surprise.
"Signus, are you here to watch me practice Quidditch?" There was a hint of surprise in Harry's voice. He never expected that Signus would appear on the training ground.
Before Sensenas could speak, Oliver Wood was already striding towards the Slytherin team with an angry look on his face. His brows were furrowed, and he was obviously very angry.
"Flint, this is our Gryffindor training time! We get up early in the morning, not to compete with you for the venue." His voice was full of anger.
Marcus Flint just chuckled, a smile that reminded people of a cunning troll.
"Don't be so stingy, Wood, there's plenty of room." He waved his hand dismissively.
This attitude completely infuriated Oliver, and his face turned red.
"We occupied this place first!" he protested.
At this moment, Marcus Flint slowly pulled a piece of paper out of his robe and waved it triumphantly in front of Oliver.
"Sorry, we have special permission from Professor Snape. Look, Snape signed it himself, allowing us Slytherins to train new Seekers here."
"New Seeker?" Oliver immediately grasped the point, and his eyes quickly swept outside the field, "Not Higgs anymore? Where's your new guy?"
He thought that person had not arrived yet, and could not help but sneer: "It seems that your new Seeker needs to improve his sense of time."
"Hey, do you hear me?" Draco's voice carried a hint of anger at being ignored. "I, Draco Malfoy, am now Slytherin's new Seeker."
Wood looked at him sideways, his eyes full of suspicion, which made Draco, who always cared about his reputation, feel ashamed in an instant.
"Humph, it's more than just a seeker!" Draco was not to be outdone and raised his voice, "My dad also funded our team. Everyone has a Nimbus 2001, the latest model!"
As soon as he finished speaking, the Slytherin team members all took out their brooms and lined up in a long snake formation.
Wood's eyes sparkled as he looked at the shiny new brooms and imagined how thrilling it would be to ride them.
"so cool!"
At this time, Segnus interrupted the conversation at the right time, breaking the impending tension: "Thank you for the compliment, Senior Wood."
She walked towards Wood, tilted her head slightly, and suggested with a smile: "How about we have a friendly match between Slytherin and Gryffindor? What do you think, Senior Wood?"
Facing the gentle and beautiful school girl, Wood couldn't help but blush, secretly happy in his heart:
Great! Finally a chance to show off his skills on the Quidditch field! He had always wanted to dampen the spirit of his arch-enemy Flint.
After all, Oliver Wood is the undisputed first goalkeeper of Hogwarts!
At the tense moment when the game was about to begin, Gilderoy Lockhart's confident voice broke the silence.
"Hey, Harry, Cygnus, can you two come with me for a moment?" he said, waving his gorgeous robes, his golden hair gleaming in the sun.
His blue eyes slyly glanced at Wood and Flint.
"You know, popularity can be troublesome sometimes."
He shrugged, with his signature smile on his face. "I have a mountain of fan mail on hand now, so I wonder if you two celebrities could do me a favor and help me deal with these enthusiastic greetings?"
Harry seemed a little helpless, and the two looked at each other, both seeing the other's reluctance.
"Oh, Professor Lockhart, it's really... an honor." Segnus tried to make her tone sound sincere, although she felt a little unhappy. "But, we have a competition soon, you see..."
Lockhart didn't care and waved his hand to interrupt her, "Don't worry, don't worry, this won't take you too long. Right, Harry?" He patted Harry's shoulder as if he had already made up his mind.
Harry frowned, but nodded.
Well, now the unlucky ones may be Cygnus and Harry.
