HP Princess bravely enters Hogwarts
Chapter 39 Let’s go to Knockturn Alley!
In the early morning, the Hogwarts owl gently landed on Seconas's windowsill, holding a letter in its mouth.
Cygnus gently stroked the owl's soft feathers and smiled as she took the envelope from its beak.
She walked to the table and carefully opened the envelope. A piece of parchment with densely written words slid out.
The letter read: "Dear Cygnus
The second year of school at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry is about to start. Please take the Hogwarts Express to return to school at King's Cross Station before 11:00 on September 1st.
The following are the books needed for the second grade, please be sure to prepare them:
The Standard Book of Spells, Level 2, by Miranda Goshawk;
The Break with the Ghost, by Gilderoy Lockhart
Running with Ghouls, by Gilderoy Lockhart
Holidays with a Hag, by Gilderoy Lockhart
Walking with Trolls, by Gilderoy Lockhart
"Sailing with Vampires" by Gilderoy Lockhart
Wandering with Werewolves by Gilderoy Lockhart
"A Year with the Tibetan Yeti" by Gilderoy Lockhart
Cygnus looked at the pile of Lockhart's books speechlessly and couldn't help sighing.
She recalled the posters she had seen in Diagon Alley, a man with blond hair and blue eyes grinning, with the words "Gilderoy Lockhart, Your Guide to a Magical Life" written on them.
I shook my head and thought, “With so many books, can anyone really read them all?”
At this time, Lucius walked into the room, looked at his daughter's joyful expression, and asked, "A letter from Hogwarts?"
Cygnus nodded and smiled, "Yes, Dad. We are going to buy some books."
Lucius patted her shoulder and said, "Then let's go to Flourish and Blotts in Diagon Alley. Draco will come with us."
He thought for a moment and then said, "But before that, there are some things we need to deal with."
Lucius led Cygnus and Draco to the living room, grabbed a handful of Floo powder from the fireplace, and said seriously, "Before we go buy books, we have to go to Borgin and Burke's in Knockturn Alley to take care of some business."
Cygnus frowned, while Draco was eager to try. The three of them held each other's hands tightly, and Lucius sprinkled Floo powder into the fireplace, and the flames instantly turned emerald green.
"Knockturn Alley!" Lucius cried.
In a blink of an eye, they appeared in front of the fireplace of Borgin and Burke's wizarding shop.
The shop is filled with all kinds of magical items, and the air is filled with a mysterious atmosphere.
Lucius held Cygnus and Draco's hands tightly and warned them seriously: "Draco, remember, don't touch anything here, understand?"
Draco nodded, a hint of curiosity in his eyes.
A hunched man was busy sorting magical items on the shelves.
Seeing Lucius and his group coming in, he immediately put down the work in his hands, smiled and said: "Oh, Mr. Malfoy, it's so nice to see you again! What do you need to buy?"
Lucius shook his head slightly and whispered, "Mr. Borgin, the Ministry of Magic has stepped up its searches recently. I have some things at home that may cause me inconvenience. I want to sell them first."
Borgin Burke spread his hands and said sympathetically, "Don't worry, the Ministry won't bother Malfoy. But I also understand your concerns. Things are really tense recently."
He carefully took a package from Lucius, which seemed to contain several precious magical items.
Lucius nodded slightly, a sneer flashed across his face: "No one has come to raid my house yet, after all, Malfoy still has prestige.
Only, I'm sure it was stupid, poor, slovenly Arthur Weasley who suggested it, because he loved dealing with Muggles."
At this time, Draco's eyes kept turning, full of curiosity about the rare treasures in the store.
He suddenly pointed to a withered arm and asked Borgin Burke curiously: "What is this, Mr. Borgin? Can you let me see it?"
Borgin Burke's eyes lit up. He picked up the withered arm and said with a smile, "This is the Hand of Glory. It is a very useful magical item. Put a candle in it and only the person holding it can see the light. It is a good companion for thieves and robbers."
Draco's eyes sparkled with curiosity, as if he was imagining himself holding the Hand of Glory.
Seeing this, Borgin Burke praised: "Master Draco, you have a unique vision. This is one of the most precious items in my shop."
Lucius frowned, a trace of displeasure flashed across his face, and he said to Draco coldly: "I hope you can be better than thieves and robbers, and not be interested in these messy things."
Draco shrank his neck and dared not speak again.
At this time, Segnus gently pulled the corner of Lucius's clothes and comforted him, "Dad, Draco is just curious, don't be angry."
Lucius frowned and glared at Draco, his tone harsh: "If your grades don't improve, maybe you can only do this. That Muggle girl scored better than you!"
He paused, turned his gaze to Segnus, and said in a slightly softer tone, "It would be great if you could be like your sister and always get first place in the exam."
Draco's face flushed instantly, he lowered his head and bit his lips tightly.
Lucius turned to Borgin and Burke, raised his chin slightly, and asked calmly: "So, Mr. Borgin, what price would you give for these things?"
Borgin Burke's eyes flickered, he calculated shrewdly, and then he gave a number.
Lucius frowned, obviously not satisfied with the price, and the two began a shrewd bargaining.
Cygnus looked at the uneasy Draco, smiled, took his hand, and said softly, "Come on, Draco, let's go look somewhere else."
Cygnus and Draco were wandering around the other side of the store, and Draco's eyes were caught by an opal necklace that was shining with a mysterious light.
He grinned and couldn't help but want to touch it.
Just then, Cygnus noticed a familiar figure hiding in the corner of the cupboard - Harry Potter.
She immediately pulled Draco's hand and motioned him to look over there.
Draco followed Cygnus's gaze and was surprised to see Harry.
The two of them walked over quietly.
"Harry, why are you here?" Cygnus asked in a low voice.
Harry looked around nervously, making sure no one noticed them, then he breathed a sigh of relief and said, "I wanted to use the Floo powder to go to Diagon Alley, but I may have pronounced the name wrong, so I ended up here."
Draco couldn't help laughing: "You are so careless, Harry."
"Shh, keep your voice down!" Harry quickly stopped Draco and walked out of the corner of the closet carefully.
Cygnus asked with concern: "Are you okay? Have you been discovered?"
Harry shook his head, "Luckily, I don't think anyone here noticed me, but I'd better leave quickly to avoid getting into trouble."
At this time, Lucius' voice came from the other side of the store: "Signus, Draco, we can go now."
"We have to go, Harry, are you okay on your own?" Cygnus asked worriedly.
Harry smiled and said, "Don't worry, I'm fine. Thank you."
Cygnus and Draco followed Lucius out of Borgin and Burke's.
Harry walked out of the shop carefully, looking for the right path to Diagon Alley.
After leaving Borgin and Burke's shop, Sigman and the others passed by Gringotts Bank, which is the safest and most reputable financial institution in the wizarding world.
Suddenly, Cygnus saw Hermione Granger and her parents at the exchange office in Gringotts, exchanging Muggle currency for wizard currency.
Her parents looked a little uneasy.
Cygnus said to Lucius and Draco, "You guys go to the bookstore first. I saw Hermione. I'll go say hello to her and come find you later."
Lucius nodded slightly, and Cygnus walked quickly towards Hermione.
Hermione's eyes lit up immediately when she saw Seconas.
"Hermione!" Cygnus shouted happily.
Hermione turned around with a relieved smile on her face. "Signus, you're here! I was just wondering how to explain this wizard currency to my parents."
Cygnus walked over, took Hermione's hand intimately, smiled at her parents and said, "Hello, uncle and aunt, I am Hermione's friend at Hogwarts, Cygnus Malfoy."
Hermione's parents looked kind and nodded to Cygnus.
Hermione's mother asked curiously, "Are you a wizard too? Hermione often mentions you."
"Yes, auntie," replied Cygnus.
At this time, Hermione's father looked around curiously and asked, "Is this your wizard bank? It's amazing!"
Cygnus smiled and nodded, "Yes, Gringotts is the most famous bank in the wizarding world. It is very safe."
At the door of Gringotts, Cygnus warmly invited Hermione and her parents to go to Flourish and Blotts to choose books.
"The bookstore is not far from here. We can walk there together. By the way, I can introduce Diagon Alley to you." She said with a smile.
Hermione's parents readily agreed, and the group headed down the narrow alley.
On the way, Segnus and Hermione walked side by side, chatting about interesting things during the summer vacation, while Hermione's parents observed everything around them curiously.
