HP Princess bravely enters Hogwarts

Chapter 129 Neutrality is the best choice

Not long after, Lucius Malfoy hurried here with his wife Narcissa and Draco.

They walked in a hurry, obviously they had heard something and were eager to find out what was going on.

As soon as they saw Segnus's red eyes from crying, anger immediately appeared on their faces.

Lucius walked quickly to Barty Crouch, his face so gloomy that it seemed like water was dripping out of it. He asked sharply:

"Crouch, what the hell are you doing? Why is my daughter here, and crying like this?"

Barty Crouch frowned upon seeing this. Facing Lucius's barrage of questions, he knew he had to explain himself, so he answered as calmly as possible:

"Mr. Malfoy, please don't get excited. The thing is, we happened to find Miss Segnus at the scene when we were dealing with a magical accident. In order to clarify the situation, we just followed the prescribed procedures and questioned her as a routine matter."

Narcissa nervously held Cygnus's hand and asked worriedly, "Are you okay, dear? Tell mom what happened?"

Cygnus threw himself into Narcissa's arms and choked up, "Mom, I'm fine. I'm just a little scared. I don't know why this happened."

Draco, who was standing aside, frowned and his eyes were full of displeasure.

He turned to Barty Crouch, his tone reproachful: "How could you do this to a girl? Seeing her so scared, don't you feel any guilt at all?"

Amos Diggory stepped forward to smooth things over: "Everyone, I believe this is just a misunderstanding. Miss Sensenas is a kind-hearted child. She cannot be related to this magical accident. The most important thing now is to find the real culprit."

Lucius Malfoy's cold eyes swept towards Barty Crouch, and his tone was firm and unquestionable:

"Let me say this here. If the Ministry of Magic can't get to the bottom of this as soon as possible and we are wronged, then I can't guarantee that I will stay quiet."

Faced with Lucius's undisguised threat, a trace of dissatisfaction flashed across Barty Crouch's face. That feeling was as disgusting as if he had eaten a fly.

He sneered and replied, "Mr. Malfoy, the 'glorious deeds' of you and your family in the past, following the man whose name must not be mentioned, are no secret in the circle. It is not easy to get rid of the name of a Death Eater. Although the wind has changed now, our suspicion of you is not entirely unreasonable."

As soon as the words fell, the atmosphere on the scene suddenly became tense.

Narcissa and Draco frowned at the same time, with obvious anger in their eyes.

At this moment, Amos Diggory realized the awkwardness of the atmosphere and quickly stepped forward to smooth things over.

He frowned, with a hint of dissatisfaction in his eyes, and said to Barty Crouch: "Barty, don't say such things casually. At this critical moment, we should work together to face the real threats together. The Malfoy family has already made their attitude clear. There is really no need for us to bring up the past. What do you think?"

Barty Crouch knew that what he said just now was a bit inappropriate, but he still responded stubbornly: "Well, I will pay attention to my wording, but we still have to continue the investigation of this magical accident. After all, finding out the truth is the most important thing."

Lucius snorted disdainfully, his displeasure evident on his face.

He glanced at Barty Crouch who was standing beside him, with a cold look in his eyes.

Then he turned around and waved to Narcissa and Draco: "Let's go home, back to our manor. This kind of place is not worth wasting our precious time."

Narcissa and Draco followed closely behind, and the family surrounded Cygnus and left this unpleasant place.

As soon as he walked into the gate of Malfoy Manor, Lucius immediately frowned, looking like he was worried about something.

He didn't even give himself a chance to breathe, and immediately called Segnus to the study.

Lucius frowned and asked seriously, "Signus, what do you mean by this? Have you decided to stand on Dumbledore's side?"

Facing her father's questioning, Segnus seemed calm and even smiled.

She shook her head gently and said in a soothing tone:

"Dad, don't be so anxious. How could I forget the fundamental interests of our Malfoy family? I just think that the current situation is a great opportunity for us. We can remain neutral for the time being, sit back and watch Dumbledore and Voldemort fight each other. When they are exhausted, we will take action. Wouldn't it be easy for us to reap the benefits?"

Lucius' frown relaxed slightly. He was a little surprised by Segnus' answer, but he had to admit that the idea was indeed tempting.

He had never thought that his daughter would be so cunning. He looked at her in confusion and asked, "Do you really think so?"

Segnus nodded, "Yes, father. Why should we sacrifice our lives in vain in this war? As long as we use this opportunity skillfully, we can not only preserve our family, but also potentially raise our status to a higher level."

Hearing this, Lucius' eyes gradually became hot.

He knew that what Segnus said made sense.

As a shrewd family leader, he certainly knows how to find the most advantageous position in a complex situation.

Just as Lucius was lost in thought, the portrait of Abraxas Malfoy on the wall suddenly spoke:

"This is what our Malfoy family is like. We know how to control our own destiny in a turbulent situation." There was a hint of appreciation in his voice, as if he agreed with Cygnus' strategy.

Then, the portrait of Abraxas glanced at Lucius with a hint of regret in his eyes:

"Lucius, it's a pity that you didn't inherit my intelligence. However, Cygnus really impressed me. Her wisdom and strategy are enough to make our Malfoy family invincible in this war."

Lucius frowned, somewhat dissatisfied with his father's accusation, but the fear in his heart prevented him from refutation.

He knew that Abraxas had been the pillar of the family during his lifetime, and his wisdom and skills made the Malfoy family prominent in the wizarding world.

Now, he could only listen to the teachings with gritted teeth.
