Mirror World
Chapter 129: Desperate Ice Continent
On the other side of the world, in this different world, the cold is raging, and ice and snow cover every inch of the ice continent. Looking around, there is an endless expanse of white, as if there is no end. There is no warm sunshine shining through the clouds, nor lush vegetation dotted in between; there is only the boundless snowfield and the vast ice continent composed of huge and hard ice blocks.
In this extremely cold, snowy world, there is a huge iceberg that towers into the clouds. This iceberg is like a crystal clear castle, emitting a heart-pounding chill. Deep inside the iceberg, there is a mysterious ice cave filled with biting cold and a strange atmosphere.
There are two huge ice coffins placed side by side in the cave. The two ice coffins are transparent, as if they were carved from countless ice blocks, emitting a bone-chilling cold. Inside the ice coffins are a pair of men and women.
However, surprisingly, one of the ice coffins was empty and the woman who was supposed to be frozen inside was nowhere to be found.
The remaining ice coffin was still intact, and inside it lay a man. He closed his eyes tightly, his face was peaceful, and he seemed to have fallen into an eternal sleep. The clothes he wore were not gorgeous, and some of them did not belong to this era.
……
In this freezing cold and desolate ice world, on the top of a snowy mountain, suddenly, a dazzling, pure white and incredibly fast beam of light streaked across the sky like lightning and landed directly on the top of a towering snowy mountain.
When the beam of light came down, the impact caused the surrounding snowflakes to flutter and dance, forming a colorful snowstorm. When the snowflakes gradually dispersed, two figures appeared clearly - they were Tang Huan and Nian Po!
At this moment, Tang Huan seemed to be still immersed in a deep sleep, unaware of what was happening in the outside world. He closed his eyes tightly, breathing steadily, as if he had entered a dreamland isolated from the world. However, in sharp contrast to him was the Anaconda, whose face was stern and cold, and whose eyes were as sharp as an eagle, vigilantly examining the surrounding environment.
The Anaconda stood tall, exuding a majestic aura. She frowned slightly, and her eyes swept over every inch of the snow, not missing any abnormal movement. After confirming that there were no dangerous monsters around, she looked coldly at the sleeping Tang Huan, then took out the rectangular long column again, injected the mirror spirit into it, and ascended again to leave this ice world. She left Tang Huan alone without hesitation.
The cold wind whistled across the land like a sharp blade, mercilessly whipping Tang Huan's sleeping face. Tang Huan's eyelids trembled slightly, as if he felt the biting cold, and slowly opened his eyes. When his vision gradually became clear, what appeared before his eyes was a white world, as if he was in a kingdom of ice and snow.
Tang Huan's eyes widened, his face full of astonishment and confusion. "Where is this place?" he muttered to himself, his heart full of confusion. He tried to recall why he came here, but his mind was blank. With a heart full of doubts, Tang Huan stood up with difficulty, staggering around. However, the scene around him was despairing - there was nothing but cold and hard ice; the world seemed to have lost all its vitality.
Faced with the sudden change, Tang Huan fell into extreme panic. He knew nothing about this unfamiliar environment, didn't know how to move forward, and didn't know if he could find his way home. At this moment, a deep sense of loneliness surged in his heart, making him feel helpless.
In a panic, Tang Huan suddenly thought of Modona, the woman who was inextricably linked to him. He shouted anxiously: "Modonna! Where are you? Can you hear me? Answer me!" The voice echoed in the empty ice field, but no response was received.
Time and again, Tang Huan called out Modona's name with all his strength, hoping to get a clue or a response. However, every time he called out, it was like a stone falling on the sea, leaving only a silent echo. As time went by, Tang Huan's mood became heavier, and his worry about Modona became stronger. Where is she? Is she in danger? These questions kept lingering in his mind, making him anxious.
Tang Huan was extremely anxious. He ran down the cliff like an arrow, calling out Modona's name.
"Madona! Where are you? If you can hear me, answer me now!"
"Madona!..."
However, he did not receive any response until he reached the foot of the mountain. Looking at this desolate world, Tang Huan was completely hopeless at this moment, as if the whole world had collapsed.
Tang Huan could not accept this sudden change. He would rather believe that this was all just a nightmare than to believe that he was really separated from Modona.
Anger and despair intertwined in his heart. He clenched his teeth tightly and made a creaking sound. He knelt on the ground helplessly. His fists also hit the ice fiercely, making a crisp sound: "Damn it! If this is a dream, please let me wake up quickly! I must find Modona, she must not make any mistakes again!" Every punch was filled with his unwillingness to be manipulated by fate and his deep concern for Modona.
Tang Huan's eyes were filled with pain and determination. They had only known each other for three months! Modona was willing to sacrifice her life to protect him from Ya. This deep friendship shocked and moved Tang Huan, and it also became a rare warmth and comfort for him in this suffocating and oppressive fate.
However, it was because Modona came to rescue him without hesitation that she eventually went missing and her life or death was in danger. Thinking of this, Tang Huan was filled with endless self-blame and regret. He knew that if it weren't for him, Modona would not have encountered such a dangerous situation; and the news of losing Modona at this moment made him feel heartbroken and in great pain.
As his fists hit him one after another, his voice also kept roaring!
Tang Huan's fists continued to hit the cold and hard ground. The skin began to break and blood began to bleed. The scarlet warm blood flowed out from the broken wounds and slowly soaked the ice under his feet. The pain also poured into his body like a tide.
Tang Huan raised his bloodstained fist with difficulty and looked at it carefully. He stared at the injured part with wide eyes - white mist was rising from there, as if it had life, trying to repair the damaged skin. At this moment, a thought struck Tang Huan like lightning across the night sky: all this was not a dream, but a cruel reality!
Tang Huan was unable to accept this fact, and a raging rage burned in his chest. His eyes were wide open, and he let out a deafening roar towards the sky!
"Ah! . . . Ah! . . . "
Then, without hesitation, he swung his fist again, and with a heart full of unwillingness and resentment, he smashed it madly at the ruthless ice ground like raindrops.
"Why! Why do you want to separate us? What did I do wrong? Why should my fate be controlled by others!" Tang Huan's roar echoed in the air for a long time. His eyes were full of anger, pain and despair, as if he wanted to vent the resentment, helplessness and sadness that had been accumulated in his heart for a long time in this way.
……
Time passed by, night gradually fell, and a mysterious aurora quietly emerged in the sky. However, at this moment, Tang Huan was still struggling forward in this cold and windy night, and he could not find a shelter that could protect him from the wind and rain.
Tang Huan raised his head and gazed at the colorful yet mysterious aurora in the night sky. This was undoubtedly the first time he had ever seen such a spectacle. However, at this moment, his mood had already fallen to the bottom, and his heart was shrouded in endless sorrow and loss. Even in the face of such a wonderful and strange sight, it was difficult to arouse the slightest interest.
As night fell, the cold wind became more and more biting, lashing at Tang Huan's body like sharp arrows. The wind became stronger and stronger, as if it was going to tear him apart. Tang Huan felt that his body was gradually being eroded by the cold, and every inch of his skin lost its original temperature and gradually became stiff.
Finally, he could no longer hold on, his legs softened, and he fell to the ground uncontrollably. He fell heavily on the hard, cold ground, making a dull thud. At this moment, his consciousness began to blur, and his eyelids slowly closed as if they were weighed down by a heavy weight.
Just as his eyes were about to close completely, a faint and unfamiliar female voice reached Tang Huan's ears. The voice was as erratic as a ghost, sometimes high-pitched and passionate, sometimes low and hoarse, as if shouting something hysterically, like a crazy mental patient.
Tang Huan tried hard to hear clearly, but his consciousness became increasingly tired and blurred.
