Marvel: Why should I save you? We are close friends.

Chapter 172: Strange and Master Mordo's First Meeting

"I've been waiting for you until all the flowers have withered. Do you know that my time is precious?" Chen Ye heard Strange's dissatisfied complaints as soon as he went downstairs.

"Don't be anxious. Good things should always be tasted at the end. Let me eat something, then we'll go." Chen Ye comforted him with a smile, picking up the breakfast on the table as he spoke.

Strange looked at Chen Ye helplessly. If anyone else had asked him to wait, he would have walked away. But Chen Ye was different. He was not only his college classmate, but also his long-time friend.

More importantly, only this guy can give him superpowers. Strange knows very well that if someone else told him that he could have superpowers, he would probably ignore it directly, or even ridicule the other person as a liar and extremely brainless.

But Strange knew that Chen Ye could really give him superpowers.

He had to postpone a lot of surgeries today before he was able to stay here for a day. God knows how many people called him after he took two days off, asking him to go back to perform surgery.

Chen Ye finished his breakfast quickly and didn't even have time to make tea. Strange next door kept staring at him, making him feel helpless.

"Let's go, let's go," Chen Ye said helplessly as he stood up.

After hearing Chen Ye's words, Strange stood up and walked out of the restaurant.

Seeing this, Chen Ye asked, "Where are you going?"

"Drive, my car is not outside," Strange said as a matter of course.

He felt puzzled. If he didn't drive, could he just walk there?

That Kamar-Taj looks very far away from the Big Apple. Could it be that Kamar-Taj is in Hell's Kitchen, just a few steps away?

At this moment, Strange still had the thinking of an ordinary person and would never think that he could not reach Kamar-Taj by driving.

"Driving to Kamar-Taj? Strange, you have such a rich imagination." Chen Ye thought secretly in his heart.

Seeing Strange about to walk towards his car, Chen Ye immediately stopped him and said, "No need to drive, just follow me."

After saying that, Chen Ye quickly drew circles with his hands, as if drawing a mysterious pattern in the air.

Soon, a golden halo appeared out of thin air in front of Strange.

The aperture flashes with dazzling light, as if leading to another mysterious world

Looking at the circle of light in front of him, Strange was stunned. He totally couldn't understand what was going on.

"This should be the skill you used when blocking it," he said, pointing at the portal, and was even more looking forward to where to go next.

"Hurry up, I'll take you there, I still have a lot of things to do in Hell's Kitchen." Chen Ye said and entered the portal.

Seeing this, Strange hurriedly followed.

This was also Chen Ye’s first visit to Kamar-Taj, the legendary holy land of mystic magic.

The ancient and solemn building stands tall and majestic.

However, Chen Ye was mentally prepared after all, and Strange looked around in surprise. This ancient and mysterious atmosphere immediately gave Strange more confidence that he could learn super powers.

"Chen Ye is so reliable," Strange thought to himself.

"Where is the person you said you wanted me to meet?" Strange couldn't wait to have super powers.

"How should I know? This is my first time in Kamar-Taj too. Why don't you just ask someone?" Chen Ye shrugged.

After hearing what Chen Ye said, Strange decided to take back his evaluation of Chen Ye's reliability.

As the two walked deeper into Kamar-Taj, they came to the martial arts field.

Here, a group of trainee monks in plain clothes are practicing horse stance.

Strange watched their actions with envy glittering in his eyes.

"Wow, this is so cool! Is this Chinese Kung Fu?" Strange exclaimed.

"You will soon become one of them," Chen Ye said

"Ah? Do you need to practice Chinese Kung Fu to acquire super powers?" Strange asked with a puzzled look on his face.

"Who told you it's a superpower? It's a secret method, or it could be magic," Chen Ye explained.

"Ah? In this world, one can really learn magic and there are magicians, but why do they dress like monks?" Strange asked puzzledly. He had thought about qigong and superpowers, but never thought of magic.

These monks were different from the magicians he had imagined.

Just then, a black monk walked out from the crowd.

His eyes were serious and deep, as if he could see into people's hearts.

He walked up to Strange and said, "Do you think we should wear black robes and a big cowhide hat and fly around on broomsticks?"

Strange was a little embarrassed by the question, and he quickly waved his hands to explain: "No, no, that's not what I meant."

The monk nodded, then turned to Chen Ye and Strange and asked, "Who are you? Why did you come to Kamar-Taj?"

Chen Ye immediately replied: "We are here to look for Master Ancient One. My name is Chen Ye, and this is my friend Strange."

Chen Ye answered while looking at the black monk.

He was guessing the monk's identity while also observing his expression and movements.

When the monk heard Chen Ye's name, he smiled and introduced himself: "It's you, Mr. Chen Ye. Hello, I'm Mo Du."

Chen Ye nodded slightly. He felt that there seemed to be a hint of malice hidden under the smile of Master Mordo.

He couldn't help but become alert. Could it be that someone wanted to harm him as soon as he arrived in Kamar-Taj?

He quickly used the telepathy he gained from Professor X to read Mordo's mind.

"So this is Chen Ye. I wonder why the Supreme Sorcerer would let an outsider maintain peace in the multiverse!"

"Let an outsider be the Supreme Sorcerer! I am stronger in terms of qualifications and magical power! Why give him the position instead of giving it to me?"

After Chen Ye finished reading the mind, he realized that he was being blamed for no reason. It was obvious that Strange next door was the candidate for the Sorcerer Supreme.

However, it is not surprising that Chen Ye would have such an idea about Mordo. The Mordo in Marvel movies is like an ascetic monk, but the comic version of Mordo is a smiling tiger who always wants to become the Sorcerer Supreme.

In some parallel universes, Mordo did become the Supreme Sorcerer and even joined the Illuminati.

At this time, Strange on the side also came forward and said to Master Mordo: "Master Mordo, please take us to see Master Ancient One. We have important matters to discuss with her."

Strange's words made Mordo's smile become a little stiff.

He observed Strange carefully, and for some reason, his sixth sense told him that he hated this pretentious guy very much.

Even from Strange, he felt a sense of inexplicable crisis.

"Could this arrogant guy be my future competitor?" Mordo thought to himself.

After all, ordinary people are not qualified to meet Master Ancient One directly.

However, the Ancient One chose to meet both of them at the same time, which made Mordo begin to doubt his own status.

Mordo took a deep breath and tried to keep himself calm.

"The Supreme Sorcerer has been waiting for you for a long time, please follow me," Mordo said, then turned around and led the way for Chen Ye and the others.
