Yu Ran walked through the back garden and finally arrived at Concubine Jin's residence.

As the snowstorm intensified, she did not send anyone to pass on the message. She simply knelt down in the courtyard and said loudly, "Your servant Yu Ran, begs to see the Imperial Concubine!"

Concubine Jin's courtyard was very large, and because it was snowing, the servants all hid in the warm room. The female officials who entered the palace with her were all frightened and hurried in to report.

Not long after, when Concubine Jin came out, Yu Ran looked like a snowman, but he knelt respectfully, his forehead buried in the back of his hands, and kept shouting: "Your servant Yu Ran, begs to see the Concubine!"

Concubine Jin was stunned for a moment. Without even having time to change her boots, she lifted up her skirt and ran towards her, motioning to the maid beside Yu Ran to help her up.

Yu Ran's face was red from the cold, with snow on her cheeks and red eyes. When she saw Concubine Jin squatting beside her and rushing to support her, two lines of hot tears rolled down her cheeks. She held Concubine Jin's hand and cried, "Your Majesty! Your Majesty! I heard that he was locked up. Please! Please!"

The words sounded intermittent and unclear, but Concubine Jin understood. She helped her up and comforted her, "Go into the house quickly, or you'll get frostbitten!"

The two of them supported each other as they entered the inner hall. Yu Ran shivered. She was wearing very little and her face was haggard. She knelt in the snow outside for a while, then suddenly entered the cabinet and fainted.

There was a panic in Concubine Jin's palace. Some looked for the imperial physician, some helped others. Concubine Jin held on and after settling Yu Ran, she asked the female official beside her quietly, "Where is His Majesty now?"

"To answer your question, His Majesty is in the imperial study right now," the female official responded quickly.

"Go and ask His Majesty to come over." Concubine Jin flipped her hands, sat down in front of the bed, touched the beads of sweat on Yu Ran's forehead, and cried, "My poor child, it's rare that you still care so much about this scoundrel!"

There was a commotion outside, accompanied by the sound of rustling footsteps, and a maid came in to report that the prince's concubine had arrived.

Concubine Jin frowned and ordered someone to take care of Yu Ran. She came out of the inner room and saw Huaizhu standing there in white. She hadn't seen her for a few days and her belly was getting bigger and she couldn't move easily. She hurried forward and stopped her from bowing to her. She shook her head and sighed, "You shouldn't go out in such bad weather and you're not feeling well!"

The sharp-eyed maidservant took the hand warmer and handed it to Huaizhu.

Huaizhu chuckled and said, "I shouldn't have come to disturb Her Majesty, but now the Sixth Prince is working for the Crown Prince. Now that this disaster has come so quickly, there is absolutely no reason for the Eastern Palace to sit idly by."

Concubine Jin smiled gratefully and held her hand: "You are so considerate, it is really a blessing for our prince."

"Your Majesty, please stop praising me! My sister should have come here for this matter, but she caught a cold these past two days and has a splitting headache. She can't go out, so I had to come here anyway." Huaizhu had an indifferent expression and smiled at Concubine Jin, very humble.

Concubine Jin nodded repeatedly and said, "Your sister's health has not improved since the death of the Crown Prince. It's pitiful."

Huaizhu said sadly, "Who says it's not true? His Royal Highness the Crown Prince is particularly worried about her. He often keeps her company and talks to her about history books and military strategies. She seems to be getting better! I can't help her much, so I just make some snacks every day to cheer her up."

Concubine Jin smiled, took Huaizhu's hand, and sighed softly, "Good child, the Crown Princess is dignified, virtuous, gentle and kind, and you are well-behaved, sensible and considerate. Our Crown Prince is the most blessed."
