Operation Red Book

Chapter 44 The Last Words 1

Holmes was so angry that he spat out blood when he saw Jacob holding the Bible tightly in his arms.

He bit his back teeth, which were stained bright red with blood.

Holmes said to Jacob fiercely: "You are such a wicked person who has no sense of propriety. Why don't you help me stop him and go to pick up your broken Bible?"

Arnold threw Jacob next to Holmes, and Jacob mumbled something unclear: "My gold pocket watch is gone, there is no time, I can't stop it!"

"Son of a bitch!"

Holmes's mouth was filled with blood foam, and no one knew who he was cursing.

Arnold put on the hood of his robe, covering half of his yellow eyes. His long golden hair fell in front of his chest, and his whole body exuded a strong murderous and mysterious aura.

Arnold walked slowly in front of the two men, slowly squatted down, and his yellow eyes scanned their faces.

"I have a habit of listening to their last words before harvesting souls."

"The last time I was moved was when the prison warden Jerry Day said, 'My life is wasted, my pride is broken, I don't want to go to hell, I was born in hell'. I gave him a chance to live."

"Now, I want to hear...your last words."

Arnold's sickle was within reach. Holmes and Jacob looked at each other, constantly squirming their bodies and leaning back.

Holmes spoke first: "Your hair is like chicken feathers, your teeth are really ugly, and your eyes are like the urine buckets that Mrs. Hudson cleans every day."

Jacob opened his mouth in surprise, looking at Holmes who was talking nonsense, and kept muttering "Merciful Heavenly Father".

The more Arnold listened, the colder his eyes became, like a pool of icy dead water.

Glowing black streaks crept up Arnold's neck and swept across his face from all sides.

“I hope I shall die telling the truth,” rejoined Holmes.

Arnold's smile did not disappear, and a deep voice came out from between his teeth: "I should kill you now, but I can't wait to hear Mr. Duran's last words."

He turned to Jacob and licked his sharp teeth with his tongue.

Jacob had given up praying. He held the Bible tightly in his hands, his black eyes fixed on Arnold.

Suddenly, he raised the thick Bible in his hand and smashed it hard on Arnold's head.

"boom--"

The Bible and Arnold made a heavy thud, and the Bible fell to the ground.

The flames of anger burned and swelled in Arnold's eyes, and he raised the sickle in his hand high.

"Now, hurry up!"

Holmes shouted, and Jacob picked up the quartz watch in his hand.

The dial of the watch was suspended over Jacob's palm, and the hands on the dial were spinning rapidly.

Arnold's expression froze, and the sickle in his hand froze in mid-air again.

In a flash, Holmes and Jacob in front of him had disappeared.

Arnold turned his head and looked at the stairs 50 meters away, and the figures of two people flashed.

Holmes sneered, gave him the middle finger, and disappeared at the end of the corridor.

Arnold stood up and looked at the mess in the prison. The corners of his mouth curled up, but he quickly put it down.

He turned and walked into Dalton's cell, waved the sickle in his hand, and the entire wall collapsed in an instant, revealing the white world outside.

Arnold walked to the edge, jumped, and his body fell rapidly.

Joshua held the sleeping Thomas in his arms, and Bell, who was resting with his eyes closed, leaned on his shoulder.

At this moment, he didn't dare to move at all, for fear that any movement would wake them up, even though Joshua had already felt back pain and numbness in his legs and feet.

Joshua didn't want to think about the pain in his body. Loud noises and rustling sounds continued to come from the black building not far away.

Joshua couldn't help but worry about Holmes and Jacob, and was also anxiously waiting for support from SCO and Scotland Yard.

The noise in the black prison gradually became quieter and finally settled into silence.

The iron gate was opened and a short figure walked out.

Joshua looked at the figure and fully expected it to be Jacob, who was slightly smaller in stature.

He shook Bell happily and pointed ahead and said, "Ms. Bell, Mr. Duran is coming out! Look... But where is Mr. Holmes?"

Bell stood up when she heard the sound. She rubbed her eyes, blinked twice, and looked at the black figure in front of her.

The figure seemed to have noticed them as well and was running towards them.

"No, that's not Jacob, that's... Dalton!"

Dalton's eyes were bloodshot, and his two sharp blood-sucking teeth shone coldly. He held a dagger in his hand and his face looked ferocious.

"Ms. Bell, protect Thomas!"

Joshua gently put Thomas down, straightened his body crookedly, and protected Bell and Thomas behind him.

He took out the broken flashlight, and stared at Dalton who was running towards him with his eyes as sharp as a torch.

Joshua lightly pressed the button at the bottom of the flashlight, and a blue-purple electric light instantly shot out from the top of the flashlight, like a lightsaber in Star Wars.

Dalton raised the silver dagger in his hand and stabbed Joshua, and Joshua also raised his lightsaber and hit back.
