The Chosen System: Counterattack with Husband

Chapter 483 Miss Fu’s Reminder

An hour later, the warm yellow light of the little yellow duck night light was turned off, and the conference room fell into darkness again.

Four figures of different heights filed out of the conference room. Except for Fu Wei who walked in first, the other three put on their masks.

The young man, whom Xu Yiyu called "Second Young Master Liang", politely apologized to Xu Yiyu and Lu Sanshi first, then casually said goodbye to his cousin Fu Wei, put on a baseball cap and walked towards the elevator hall.

Seeing the figure of her second cousin, who she was usually quite close to, disappear from the office area, Fu Wei, who had always had a somewhat arrogant look on her face, seemed to be slightly relieved, and her shoulders slumped slightly.

As soon as she relaxed, Fu Wei's eyes began to unfocus a little, as if she finally had room to breathe. Her originally tense facial features gradually relaxed, and her whole body showed a rare state of emptiness.

Xu Yiyu and Lu Sanshi looked at Fu Wei's appearance, neither of them said anything, intending to let Fu Wei adjust herself.

After two or three minutes, Fu Wei's somewhat unfocused eyes finally regained their spirits, and her standing posture changed from sloppy to the upright state when Xu Yiyu saw her before.

"Xu Yiyu."

The first thing Fu Wei said after she came to her senses was to call out Xu Yiyu's name.

"What's wrong? Miss Fu."

Xu Yiyu looked at Fu Wei with good temper, his eyebrows slightly curved, and his lips covered by the mask seemed to be smiling.

"When you discuss important matters like this from now on, don't allow outsiders like me to be present."

Fu Wei kindly reminded Xu Yiyu in an unusual way. There was no smile on her face, but she seemed to be worried about something.

When Xu Yiyu heard Fu Wei's reminder, the curve of her brows curved even deeper, and her response did not confront Fu Wei head-on.

"Okay, thank you Miss Fu for the reminder. I'll remember it."

Fu Wei felt a little uncomfortable with Xu Yiyu's humble and teachable look. She still liked the Xu Yiyu she met at the Imperial Capital Auction before.

She was sharp, bright and confident, as if she could glow by herself, and the light around her was so bright that she dared not look directly at it.

But when they met again under the sky of Lucheng, Xu Yiyu seemed like a different person, just like a hedgehog that had shed all those sharp thorns that no one dared to touch, and turned into a ball of cotton that would not hurt no matter how hard you hit it. His warmth and tolerance made Fu Wei a little uncomfortable.

But neither of these two sides of Xu Yiyu made her feel the slightest bit out of place.

"To be honest, if you hadn't asked me to ask my second cousin out for you this time, I wouldn't have known that he, who has always had such a low sense of presence in the company, actually had so many thoughts in his mind."

Fu Wei and her second cousin did not meet often. Every time they met, he was noncompetitive and seemed to have no interest in all the fame and fortune in the company. Unlike her eldest cousin who treated her with politeness and distance, this second cousin seemed to regard her as the embodiment of all his affection and always spoiled her like his own sister.

"Miss Fu, aren't you still on good terms with your uncle? But has he ever let you know even a little of his deepest secrets?"

As if answering Fu Wei, or as if reminding Fu Wei, the smile in Xu Yiyu's eyes faded a little, and he looked at Fu Wei with a serious tone and spoke.

Fu Wei's back stiffened, and her mind flashed back like a revolving lantern of memories of the kindness that her "kind" uncle Liang Ju had shown her and the trap he had set for her before the Imperial Capital Auction. She couldn't help but feel a chill in her heart.

I am the one who bears the responsibility, and the one who benefits is my good uncle.

Fu Wei asked herself whether she had been alert enough to the intentions and implications of everyone around her's words and deeds, but she did not expect that she was still one step behind and was taken advantage of and fell into the hands of her own uncle.

"I want to ask you this question, Xu Yiyu."

"My second cousin Liang Ze is not a simple person. If you cooperate with him, or make a deal with him, it would be like trying to get the skin of a tiger."

"Are you really not afraid that he will betray you?"

After Fu Wei asked this question, Xu Yiyu and Lu Sanshi who was standing next to her both laughed.

"Let me answer Miss Fu's question in another way. I've had some issues with you in the past, but this time you helped me even though you knew you might be implicated. Aren't you afraid that Liang Ze and I will turn against each other the next day?"

When Xu Yiyu asked this question, he looked back at Fu Wei meaningfully, as if hinting at something to her.

"How come this is the same!"

When asked this question, Fu Wei stumbled in her reply, which was unusual, and answered with a clear lack of momentum.

Fu Wei didn't want to admit it at all. What she was thinking just now was that even if her second cousin Liang Ze would turn against her, Xu Yiyu, whom she once disliked, would never do that.

“Essentially, it’s all the same.”

Xu Yiyu sighed softly, and spoke in a persuasive tone as if he wanted to teach Fu Wei something.

"At this stage, we have not done anything to violate the bottom line of each other's interests. The same is true for the transactions and cooperation between Liang Ze and me."

"The conditions I proposed can help him get what he wants, and the rewards he makes can help me achieve my own goals. It's nothing more than an exchange of interests. At this juncture, whether I or he pushes the other party out to take the blame, or involves you as the matchmaker, it will not benefit my and his plans in any way."

"On the contrary, the interests of both him and me will be harmed, so there is really no need for such an act of betrayal."

Xu Yiyu finished what he wanted to say, glanced at Fu Wei, who seemed to be thinking about what he had said, and a smile appeared in his eyes again.

"Thank you so much for helping me this time. I will thank you after I finish what I want to do."

Although Xu had other channels to get in touch with Liang Ze, it was better to choose Miss Fu Wei, with whom she had some small connection, to help her instead of establishing contact with a stranger.

In short, there is no life-and-death relationship between her and Fu Wei. She took the initiative to ask Fu Wei for help. Doing so can resolve the feud that they had in the imperial capital before, and also give the arrogant Miss Fu a way out. For herself who needs a sincere partner now, this is definitely a win-win solution.

"Today, Miss Fu, please help me with the matchmaking. If you don't mind, I will leave with my fiancé."

Xu Yiyu and Lu Sanshi entered the office building as visitors of Fu Wei. The fact that they were brought in by Fu Wei was already a bit eye-catching. If they let this young lady send them down as well, then their actions would be too high-profile.

"Okay, I understand. You guys go first."

Fu Wei, who grew up with an elite education, is not a brainless person. She pretended to be a reserved young lady and waved casually at Xu Yiyu, then her face returned to its expressionless state.

When Xu Yiyu and the other person disappeared from this floor, the expression in Fu Wei's eyes changed several times, and no one knew what she was thinking.

She thought Xu Yiyu was quite handsome just now, but she would never let Xu Yiyu know in this lifetime.
