Reborn with a smile, I protect you in military uniform
Chapter 20: Summer and Winter Vacations Are Gone
Chi Wan slept so soundly that she missed breakfast the next morning. Thinking that there was nothing to eat at home, she decided to go out for a meal.
When Chi Wan had just packed up and was about to go out, her father and mother, who were drinking tea in the teahouse, saw her and stopped her.
Chi Wan didn't expect her parents to be at home. She thought they had gone out for something, so she didn't pay much attention.
"Wanwan, here are some pastries to fill your stomach. Mother Zhang will be back soon, so you can only hurry for lunch." said Chi's mother.
Chi Wan took the snacks on the table. That was good. It saved her the trouble of going out.
"I just talked to your mother about your recent affairs. Wanwan, is there anything you want to say to your father?" said Father Chi.
Chi Wan poked at the cake in front of her, not reacting for a moment. She wanted to say something and looked at Chi's father in confusion.
Father Chi understood her expression and said directly: "I already know what happened during the military training."
"I also know that you were implicated by Dad in this matter. Dad is very sorry for causing you such trouble."
"Dad" Chi Wan called softly.
What they heard made them think that Chi Wan really felt wronged.
"Dad, Wanwan has grown up and has to learn to deal with these things. We are a family, and some things are unavoidable. I understand."
"I will be proud to be your daughter, but I also have to take responsibility as your daughter." Chi Wan raised her voice and said as if she had made a definite decision.
"Yes, Wanwan has grown up." Father Chi replied with relief, "But Wanwan, your ability is not yet able to support you to take on these responsibilities."
"So I will work harder to make up for my shortcomings." Chi Wan affirmed.
"Of course, Mom and Dad believe you can do it." said Chi's mother.
"Dad has an idea in this regard and would like to ask if you agree. If you think it is inappropriate, you can refuse." Father Chi said.
"Dad, you say." Chi Wan said.
"I've talked to the army and learned that given your situation, you can go to the military camp for training during the winter and summer vacations to enhance your abilities," said Father Chi.
"Do I have to go? Wouldn't it be better to learn Taekwondo?" Although Chi Wan thought about how to improve her self-defense ability after her rebirth, she had never considered joining the military camp.
"I've talked to your Grandpa Feng this time. We also need to strengthen our ability to deal with danger, and training before joining the army is also essential. I hope you understand what dad means, Wanwan."
"Okay." It sounded like this might be what his father discussed with his superiors yesterday. The higher-ups all supported it, and he would also like to go down this path in the future. Now it was just early contact. Chi Wan had no objection.
"In a family like ours, some dangers are inevitable. Dad hopes Wanwan will be able to protect herself."
"Dad, I understand." Chi Wan replied seriously.
"So am I starting this winter break?"
"Yes. Once you've made your decision, I'll contact them to make the arrangements. You can go there after you finish your exams."
"Ok."
Just two days into the short holiday, Chi Wan's future winter and summer vacations were gone.
At this point, Chi Wan asked, "By the way, there will be a parent-teacher meeting after this short vacation. Who will go to help me this time, mom or dad?" In the past, Chi Wan's mother always went to parent-teacher meetings. This time, it was a rare occasion that she saw her father at home, so she wanted to ask again. After all, she had a feeling that she had done very well in the exam, and she felt a little happy.
Thinking of this, Chi Wan smiled knowingly. This life was just like her previous life, always thinking about getting her father's praise.
"Your mother should go. Dad is going to Samu Country in two days."
"Okay." Still within expectations.
The short holiday passed quickly, and apart from attending a banquet, nothing special happened to Chi Wan.
When I returned to school on the first day, the test papers for various subjects came one after another. Looking at the test scores in front of me, they were more or less within my expectations.
The science subjects were slightly worse than the liberal arts and the points deducted were slightly more, but the liberal arts and the three main subjects were incredibly good, almost all of them were full marks, except for the Chinese language which was deducted two points, the rest were full marks.
The teacher did not announce the class rankings and grade rankings until the last class when the classroom was being decorated, at which time the teacher posted the ranking list.
This is equivalent to a survey of the performance of students in the entire class, so that students can clearly understand where their own learning situation is.
Chi Wan took first place in her class and third place in her grade with her absolute advantage in liberal arts. Unfortunately, her science scores were deducted more.
Chi Wan’s deskmate is also very good. He is not particularly good at any subject and ranks eighth in the class and in the top 30 in the grade in terms of total score.
When Lv Xinran saw Chi Wan's bright 100, she couldn't believe it. Her liberal arts scores were also good, mostly over 90, but she hadn't gotten a perfect score yet. But her science scores were terrible, ranking in the middle of the class and in the top 100 in the grade.
Lv Xinran was very unwilling to go to the class teacher and asked to change seats. Since he was so good at liberal arts, he should study hard with Chi Wan.
The head teacher was already annoyed that she kept asking him to change seats, so he finally gave in and said, "Study hard, and if you can stay in this class after the class division, I'll still be your head teacher and help you change seats."
"Okay." Lu Xinran got the answer and went back happily.
The teacher looked at her and shook her head, "Silly child, the classes will be divided into different levels in the second year of high school, so there is still a long time to go. But at least you can have some peace and quiet."
Lu Xinran smiled and thought that since he had let go this time, he would be able to let go even more next time. No rush, just take it slow.
Chi Wan's score did not win much praise from her parents, but they became more relieved to let Chi Wan go to the military camp for training so that her studies would not be affected.
The military camp was so far away. Chi Wan was looking forward to it. This place that she had never been to in her previous life had changed since she woke up early.
Time passed quickly. After a semester of fighting wits and courage with the head teacher, Lu Xinran still failed to change his position. Every time he returned to the classroom angrily and saw Shi Xiaoqin still smiling at him, Lu Xinran became even angrier.
Chi Wan maintained a stable performance and firmly sat first in the class. He said goodbye to the two of them, went home to pack his luggage, and waited for the soldier that Chi's father had mentioned to come and pick him up.
