Qianqianjie, kidnap a reborn prince back to the modern era
Chapter 5 See you in Kyoto
Five-year-old Qian You held onto Mother Chu's sleeve and took the only donkey cart in the village to Anxi Town, where she sold handkerchiefs embroidered and cloth shoes sewn by Mother Chu herself, and used the copper coins she earned from the sales to buy food necessities for a month.
It's a small street in the town that isn't very busy, with sparsely populated shops and people coming and going. Most of them are people like Mother Chu who come from surrounding villages to barter, as well as merchants who come from all over the country and stop by to rest.
Two hours passed quickly. Mother Chu bought daily necessities and took Xiao Qianyou to find a donkey cart in the village.
In front of a shop, dozens of people gathered, pointing and sighing.
Little Qianyou was short and squeezed in between the legs of the crowd, making Mother Chu so anxious that she stamped her feet outside.
Xiao Qianyou saw a thin boy about ten years old, holding a dying little girl in his arms.
The girl was so thin that her age could not be determined. Her face was sallow and her lips were purple. She showed obvious signs of poisoning and her vital signs were rapidly fading.
There is a piece of grass stuck on the boy's head, which means he is selling himself in exchange for the opportunity to save the girl.
The crowd around sighed. Someone told the boy that the little girl could not be saved and to quickly find a place to bury her. A kind-hearted person threw a copper coin and left with a sigh.
The boy stared at the little girl in his arms with a stubborn and caring look. From time to time, he used his hands to block the not-so-hot winter sun. His lips kept moving, as if he was whispering something.
Xiao Qianyou looked at the little girl for a while, made a preliminary assessment of her condition, and came close to the boy, whispering, "She must have been poisoned. I'll try to save her. You carry her and come with me."
The boy immediately raised his head and saw a little girl beside him. He glanced at the crowd of people standing there, then lowered his head in confusion, still holding the little girl motionlessly.
"She will die if she doesn't get treatment. It will take less than two hours. You can't delay any longer." The little girl whispered in his ear again.
The boy quickly looked up, and this time his eyes were fixed on Xiao Qianyou with a questioning look.
Xiao Qianyou nodded affirmatively, with a look of determination beyond her age that made the boy feel excited.
The little girl stood up and gently pulled the boy's clothes on his shoulders with her hand. The boy stood up with inexplicable happiness, hugged the little girl tightly in his arms, and stared at Xiao Qianyou's movements.
The crowd relaxed and dispersed with sighs.
Little Qianyou came to Mother Chu, took her sleeves with her little hands, and said in a baby voice, "Mom, this brother is so pitiful. The little girl has been poisoned. If she is not treated, she will die soon. Let's take them back."
"We don't have any extra money to pay for her medical treatment."
Mother Chu squatted down helplessly and hugged Xiao Qianyou.
"It doesn't cost any money. I can save her. Let's take them away from here and find a secluded place. I'll give them first aid and then take good care of them when we get home."
Xiao Qianyou said this with certainty, giving people an inexplicable sense of conviction, and it didn't feel like these words were coming from a child.
"Well, I'll listen to you. You can follow me with the little girl in your arms."
As Mother Chu spoke, she held Xiao Qianyou's hand and reminded the boy to follow.
The three of them left the street, walked into an empty alley, and stood at the base of the wall of a shop.
"Put her down first. Who is she to you?"
Xiao Qianyou pointed to a relatively flat and clean place and said to the boy.
"It's my sister."
The boy did as he was told, carefully put the girl down and knelt beside her.
Xiao Qianyou took out a few silver needles from her arms, picked up the needles with her short fingers and inserted them quickly. In the blink of an eye, five silver needles were inserted into the acupuncture points. The girl suddenly spat out a mouthful of dirty stuff with a slightly sour and rancid smell.
The boy looked at the girl who was younger than him in astonishment, his eyes widened in shock.
Mother Chu was also wondering where Xiao Qianyou got the set of silver needles from, and how he could insert the silver needles into the acupuncture points with just a few strokes.
The little girl on the ground's breath gradually became stronger. She slowly opened her eyes and moved her eyeballs to look for a familiar person.
"She must have eaten some poisonous grass or mushrooms. She has vomited it out and relieved some of the toxins. She will need two or three more treatments before she can recover."
Xiao Qianyou said to the stunned boy in front of her.
The boy was stunned for a moment, then suddenly knelt up, kowtowed heavily to Xiao Qianyou, then turned to Mother Chu and kowtowed solemnly.
"Mom, take them back. She still needs further treatment." Xiao Qianyou also turned to Mother Chu.
"I can work and won't eat too much." The boy quickly expressed his opinion.
"Oh! Okay."
Mother Chu, who had not yet recovered from Xiao Qianyou's acupuncture, continued.
The boy held his sister in his arms and followed closely Mother Chu and Xiao Qianyou. Together they got on the donkey cart back to Anji Village and rode along the bumpy road back to the dilapidated thatched house at the entrance of the village.
On the way, Xiao Qianyou looked at Mother Chu's still surprised eyes, and whispered in her ear that just now when her mother went to buy daily necessities, she went to the pharmacy and exchanged some herbs she picked up every day for silver needles.
As for medical skills, Xiao Qianyou did not explain.
But Mother Chu recalled that summer when Miss Yi Yi, who was pregnant, had to treat herself for acute poisoning from accidentally ingesting drugs, and she touched little Qianyou's head with relief.
Mother Chu took Qian You's little hand and walked into the dilapidated courtyard, looking down at the ragged boy and the girl on his back.
"I haven't asked you what your names are yet? Where do you live?" Mother Chu asked after putting down her things.
"My name is Qiao Mu and my sister is Qiao Nan. We also lived in Jishui Village, but we left a year ago. My parents died and we had no other relatives. Our house was dilapidated and uninhabitable, so I took my sister with me and left. We did odd jobs or begged for food and ate wild vegetables along the way. We had no fixed place to live."
The boy lowered his head and his voice became lower and lower as he spoke.
"Alas! They are all miserable children."
Mother Chu sighed, turned into the house and started preparing dinner.
"Put your sister in my and mother's room, and you clean up the storage room and live there." Qian You made arrangements like a little adult.
"How old are you?" she asked.
"I am ten years old and my sister is six."
"Oh! Then you are the older brother and she is the older sister. My name is Qianyou, I am five years old, and that is mother Chu." Little Qianyou said happily.
A few months passed in a flash, and Qiao Mu helped Chu's mother to chop firewood in the back mountain, and occasionally he could catch a pheasant or rabbit and bring it home.
Xiao Qianyou took Qiao Nan to collect herbs at the foot of the back mountain, and Qiao Mu helped Mother Chu to sell and buy herbs in the town. Their life was relatively stable.
One day, Qiao Mu was chasing a hare in the back mountain and ran into a cave.
A strong smell of blood hit him in the face. He looked deeper with caution and saw a man covered in blood lying on a pile of hay. It was unclear whether he was dead or alive.
He moved closer to the man and used his fingers to feel his breath. The weak breathing showed that the man was seriously injured and the situation was not optimistic.
Qiao Mu remembered that although Qian You was small, his strange medical skills were very strange. He made up his mind and quickly went down the mountain to find Qian You and Qiao Nan.
The two followed Qiao Mu to the cave and saw a person who had fainted.
Xiao Qianyou reached out to feel the man's pulse, flipped his eyelids, and whispered, "This man can still be saved."
She took out the silver needle she carried with her and asked Qiao Mu to take off the man's blood-soaked clothes. She then inserted the needle accurately into the acupuncture point, sealing the man's blood vessels and stopping the bleeding wound.
She quickly ran out of the cave and came back with a handful of grass in her hand. She put it on a slightly flat stone, picked up a small stone and crushed it, grabbed it with her small hands, and evenly applied it to the man's wound. She asked Qiao Mu to tear off a piece of her underwear and bandage the man's wound. She dissolved a pill she made daily in water and dripped it into the man's mouth. Then the three of them sat down and waited quietly.
Little did they know that the kindness of the three children would bring them different experiences in their future lives.
As it gradually darkened, the man moved his fingers slightly, his eyelids struggled to open, and he looked vigilantly at the situation in the cave.
A half-grown boy and two little girls sat around him.
The momentum he had gathered with great difficulty relaxed a little, he looked down at the cloth tied around his body, and looked at the people questioningly.
Qiao Mu said quickly, "I chased the rabbit into the cave and saw you. I called my two sisters over and they helped you treat your wound. Do you feel better now?"
The man blinked softly, proving that he felt better.
Under Qianyou's guidance, Qiao Mu found some branches to make a simple stretcher, and together they pulled the injured man from the cave back to the thatched hut at the foot of the mountain.
A month later, the man recovered quickly under Xiao Qianyou's treatment.
He was amazed at the little girl's miraculous medical skills, and felt sorry for the children's pitiful life stories and experiences. He was very worried about the three children, one old man, and stayed after his injuries healed.
Winter comes and summer goes, and ten years pass in a flash.
He took three children as his disciples and taught them martial arts.
Qian You has an excellent physique and trains extremely hard. He has the highest attainments in martial arts among the few people, and is not much inferior to him in a fight now.
Over a ten-year period, he moved his family with his children to the top of Yumai Mountain on the south side of the town and built several houses one after another.
He took in homeless children and those who had not yet lost their humanity while fleeing, and brought them back to a secret base in Yumai Mountain for training. He gradually built the Qianmai Palace, a martial arts sect that has been feared by everyone in recent years.
He cherished Qian You like his own child, and carefully trained her in the arts of music, chess, calligraphy, painting, archery, horse riding and shooting, and taught her all he had learned throughout his life.
He was often amazed at Qian You's learning ability and some of her knowledge that he was not aware of. It often seemed like he was learning while she was teaching.
During the years of mutual learning and growth, he gradually licked the deepest wounds in his heart and slowly lay dormant.
A satisfying hotpot meal and an impending separation with an unknown future left the four masters and apprentices feeling bored.
Looking at the crescent moon hanging on the top of the mountain in the night sky that seems so close, everyone is thinking about the past years.
Early in the morning.
Qian You took Chu's mother Qiao Nan to bid farewell to Master Baili Ming.
In the afternoon, the few of them returned to the entrance of Anji Village at the foot of the mountain. Qiao Mu was already waiting in the dilapidated thatched house.
The few of them exchanged information, changed into clothes that were washed bleached but clean and tidy, sat down to drink tea, and waited for the nanny sent by the Prime Minister's wife.
Qiao Mu rode away first to make arrangements.
A month and a half ago, Qiao Mu, the chief official in charge of the Qianmai Palace branch in Kyoto, brought news that Madam Li, the mistress of the Prime Minister's Mansion in Kyoto, had a selfish plan to have Yun Qianyou, the concubine's daughter who was thrown out of the house at a young age, marry Song Qingfeng, the eldest grandson of the old prime minister, instead of her biological daughter Yun Wanqing, the eldest daughter of the Prime Minister's Mansion, to complete this long-arranged marriage.
Song Qingfeng was a well-known playboy in Kyoto, and he frequented brothels every day. One year ago, he went hunting in the mountains with his friends, and was chased by wolves. He broke his leg, which was later reattached, but he became a cripple.
The current Prime Minister Yun Xuanzhi is the old Prime Minister's favorite student. Thanks to his promotion, he was steadily promoted from Minister of Rites in ten years. After the death of the old Prime Minister Song Ren'an, he successfully succeeded him and became the new Prime Minister of Dongcang.
The old prime minister's children and grandchildren are not very promising. After many operations, the eldest son Song Liu is only an assistant minister of the Ministry of Works. The eldest grandson Song Qingfeng is even more corrupt and is a well-known playboy in the capital.
Fortunately, the old prime minister's eldest daughter, Song Wan, became a royal concubine and was favored by the emperor. After the old prime minister passed away, she supported the prosperity of her mother's family.
The two governments have had a history of more than ten years. When the old prime minister was in office, he was attracted by Yun Xuanzhi's sophistication and steadiness, and arranged a marriage for them early on. When Prime Minister Yun's daughter came of age, she would marry his eldest grandson.
This marriage became a thorn in Mrs. Yun Xiang's heart. It hurt, but it was difficult to pull out.
With the sound of the shafts creaking, a dusty horse-drawn carriage stopped at the entrance of Anji Village.
An obese old woman of medium height got off the carriage with the help of a maid. She stood by the roadside, stretching her invisible waist with difficulty. She opened her drooping eyelids with difficulty and looked around the dilapidated mountain village with disdain.
She was the wet nurse of Prime Minister Yun's wife Li Yalan. She had been married to the Yun Mansion with Li for nearly twenty years. She had watched Miss Yun Wanqing grow from a hungry child to a graceful young lady, and become a famous beauty and talent in Dongcang Kyoto. She was deeply happy and proud of her, but she also felt sorry for the fateful bad marriage.
Li had a son and a daughter. Her son Yun Tianyi was studying at the Imperial College. As the only legitimate son of the Prime Minister's Office, he had a bright future.
My daughter, Yun Wanqing, is the eldest daughter of the prime minister's family and the only legitimate daughter. She has been over the age of 15 for a year.
The Song family had proposed marriage several times, but they had come up with all sorts of excuses to delay it.
Over the years, the Yun family has had three concubines, who gave birth to three illegitimate sons and two illegitimate daughters. The eldest illegitimate daughter is less than ten years old, which makes Madam Li very distressed and feels helpless.
Four months ago, Cai Bo, the steward of the Yun Mansion, went to Anxi Town on business. In the town, he met Mother Chu, who had left the Yun Mansion for fifteen years.
Accepting her invitation and remembering their old acquaintance, he went to visit and met Mother Chu with Qian You, who had grown up.
The conditions in the countryside are not good, but it cannot hide Yun Qianyou's gentleness and beauty. She behaves in an orderly manner. He is really happy for Mother Chu.
After returning home, Uncle Cai mentioned this matter to Nanny Li, but Nanny Li had a secret plan in her mind.
Li then sent people to Anji Village, Anxi Town, for a secret investigation and received a report that for the past fifteen years, Mother Chu had been living a hard life with the child named Qianyou and a pair of adopted siblings. The family was honest and abided by their duties.
Madam Li decided to bring Yun Qianyou back and let her marry the playboy in place of her daughter to solve her dilemma.
Nanny Li stood in front of the thatched hut, looking disdainfully through a handkerchief, pushed open the door, and saw three people sitting at a broken table drinking tea.
"Chu Ying, long time no see. How come you have gained a lot of weight?" Nanny Li said with a smile, her face full of wrinkles.
"Madam Li, why did you come to this remote place? It's rare." Mother Chu also replied with a smile and stood up to give her seat.
"Who are these two children?"
Nanny Li pretended to greet them, but she kept looking at the two girls with her triangular eyes since she entered the room.
"This is the child from the mansion, his name is Qian You. This is a child I picked up and raised, his name is Qiao Nan."
Mother Chu quickly called the two children over to greet Nanny Li.
"Oh my! Is this the child born by Aunt Yi Yi?"
Nanny Li pounced on Qian You exaggeratedly, patting her all over and looking at her.
Looking closely, she saw that Qian You's facial features were just right, and if she tidied herself up she could be called a beauty. However, she looked pale and timid, as if she had never seen the world. She was secretly happy in her heart.
She turned and looked at Mother Chu, raising her old face high.
"Madam has ordered that Yun Qianyou is the second daughter of Prime Minister Yun's residence and cannot stay out all the time. You should pack up your things and go back with me. Madam is waiting to see you in the residence."
There was a barely perceptible hint of mockery at the corner of Qianyou's mouth.
Mother Chu did not argue. She packed her things and wrapped them into two small bundles, then took the two girls to get on Nanny Li's carriage.
Nanny Li looked at the worn-out clothes she was packing the whole time, with a look of disdain and arrogance on her face.
When the carriage reached Anxi Town, Madam Chu carefully apologized to Madam Li, "Madam, can you please go back home first? I will take the two children to visit some acquaintances and say goodbye. Then we can rent a carriage to go to Kyoto. It won't take a few days."
Nanny Li was just thinking that the carriage was too crowded with three more women, and was worrying about how to make it through the four or five days on the road. When she heard this, she immediately replied, "It's okay, you all can get off. Don't delay too long. I'll go back to the Prime Minister's Mansion in Kyoto and wait for you."
Then she asked the three people to get off the car, took a deep breath, and asked the driver to ride away.
Qian You looked at the carriage going away, the dust it raised, and a meaningful smile appeared on the corner of his mouth. He thought silently in his heart, "Okay! See you in Kyoto!"
