My Rebirth and the Strange Adventure of Black Zhen
Chapter 363: Turbulence in Bathory Castle (Part )
After careful consideration, Sylvanas Windrunner decided to send envoys to various forces to seek reliable allies. Among the many camps, the kind-hearted Tauren living in Thunder Bluff were considered the most likely to accept them.
It is particularly worth mentioning that the Archdruid Hamuul Runetotem, with his outstanding diplomatic skills, saw the potential for redemption in the Forsaken. Although he knew that these Forsaken were insidious and cunning by nature, he still believed that through hard work, he could guide them onto the right path.
Hamuul then succeeded in convincing Warchief Thrall. Although Thrall still had his doubts, after some thought, he finally agreed to let the Horde form an alliance with the Forsaken.
At this time, Varian Wrynn and Broll Bearmantle also arrived in Thunder Bluff. In the mysterious Pool of Foresight, they went through hardships and successfully defeated a violent earth elemental. After the battle, Hamuul warmly invited them to his tent, where he told them the ancient legend of Lo'Gosh. Then, he solemnly gave them a precious hippogryph feather.
Varian was confused by this unexpected gift, but Broll immediately understood the archdruid's intention. They used this magical feather to summon a powerful horned beast, which freed them from their shackles and regained their freedom.
Time flies, and before long, Hamuul stood out as a druid and was successfully elected as a member of the new Council of Tirisfal. Since then, he has fully assisted the Council in fighting against evil forces, especially in the fight against Cho'gall. He also passed part of his power to Med'an together with many warriors.
When Hamuul first met Broll, they hit it off as if destined to be together. In fact, for Broll, Hamuul was not only a close friend, but also a family member, second only to Varian and Valeera. Whenever Broll was tormented by those terrible prophecies and nightmares, he would always confide in Hamuul and regard him as his confidant.
One day, Fandral Staghelm summoned all the archdruids to Teldrassil for a meeting, and Hamuul gladly went. On the way, he met Broll, and they went to the meeting together. At the beginning of the meeting, Fandral bluntly announced that Teldrassil was seriously ill, and attempted to heal the land through a mysterious ritual, while awakening the long-sleeping Malfurion. However, just as the ceremony was in full swing, Broll was suddenly confused by a terrifying hallucination and was completely immersed in it. At the critical moment, Hamuul anxiously shouted Broll's name, and finally succeeded in pulling him back from the virtual world to the cruel reality.
Later, when Broll was once again tormented by disturbing visions, Hamuul quietly approached him and subtly struck up a conversation with him, tricking those around him into thinking they were communicating, thus successfully covering up the fact that Broll was suffering from visions.
Afterwards, Hamuul thoughtfully hinted to Broll that these illusions might contain some real meaning, but he also understood that his friends might find it difficult to accept this fact. After all, for most people, illusions are often just an illusion that is difficult to relate to reality.
Hamuul's role in the first half of the story is not that big. However, when Broll suddenly makes a surprising decision to go against everyone and rescue their mentor in his own unique way, Hamuul's role begins to become important. Hamuul knows that Broll's plan may be more effective than Fandral's, so he always stands firmly on his friend's side, silently providing him with support and cover.
Unfortunately, the good times didn't last long. It didn't take long for Fandral to notice Broll's secret actions and he was shocked to find that he had stolen the idol of Remulos. This discovery undoubtedly added fuel to the already tense situation and made the development of the story even more complicated and confusing.
Fandral thought to himself, "Hamuul has been helping that Broll!" Although he did not make any public condemnation, the disapproving look in his eyes was enough to make the other druids start to distance themselves from Hamuul.
Although Naralex and a few others were reluctant to treat Hamuul in this way, Hamuul was afraid of bringing trouble to them, so he tried his best to avoid these friends. The situation in Teldrassil was still not getting better, and the druids were already exhausted.
One day, while Hamuul was resting, he gently placed a hand on the roots of Teldrassil. Something astonishing happened - he actually heard a whisper from the tree! However, this whisper was very different from the sounds of nature on a daily basis. In an instant, Hamuul suddenly realized: the world tree really had fallen into madness!
He was anxious and wanted to tell the other members of the council about this amazing discovery. However, Fandral scoffed at Hamuul's statement and even attributed it to Hamuul's own fatigue. Faced with Fandral's rebuttal, Hamuul felt helpless and angry.
After some in-depth investigation and observation, he and Naralex were shocked to find that Fandral was actually a man with a sweet mouth and a sharp tongue! It turned out that under the dual influence of the Emerald Nightmare and Teldrassil, Fandral had already fallen into a state of madness and could not extricate himself.
Faced with this situation, Shandris Feathermoon, Naralex, and Hamuul decided to secretly plan and prepare to launch a counterattack against Fandral. Unfortunately, the plan was discovered by the cunning Fandral before it was implemented, and he took the lead in attacking. Fortunately, at the critical moment, Hamuul was very smart and alerted Malfurion in advance. Malfurion rushed over after hearing the news and successfully rescued the three trapped people.
Although he was free, Naralex was seriously injured and fell unconscious. The anxious Hamuul immediately tried his best to treat him, but at this moment, there were too many problems in front of him to deal with.
Hamuul, Broll, Malfurion, and Shandris then traveled around to tell other druids about this astonishing fact. At first, the druids were skeptical, but as time went on, more and more druids who remained sober and rational gradually realized the truth behind the matter. Hamuul obviously supported Malfurion from the beginning and played an important role in the subsequent Nightmare War. While many people entered the dream to fight, Hamuul protected their fragile bodies in the real world. After these things passed, Hamuul took Luken Foxblood as his apprentice. , further helping him use his unique abilities.
After the Nightmare War was won at a great cost, Hamuul and other druids witnessed the wedding of Malfurion and Tyrande.
After the victory of the Northern Crusade, Garrosh held a grand celebration party and invited Hamuul and Cairne to attend. The atmosphere at the banquet was warm, but as the topic turned to the future direction, the atmosphere became tense.
Cain stood up and said in a loud voice: "We, the tauren and the night elves, are followers of the Way of Cenarius, and the druids represent the power of nature and balance. I firmly believe that they will become an important bridge between us and other races, and key negotiators in the final resolution of the dispute."
Hamuul then spoke, saying that he held an important position in the Cenarion Circle and was able to establish a channel for peaceful dialogue with the night elves. However, his words were mercilessly ridiculed and rejected by Garrosh. Garrosh believed that only force could solve the problem, and he disdained Cairne and Hamuul's proposal.
Soon after, Thrall left Azeroth for Outland. At this time, Cairne and Hamuul decided to meet at the Redstone to discuss the reconstruction of Orgrimmar. Both of them were concerned about the new Horde under Garrosh's leadership, especially the change in the style of urban construction.
Cain expressed his views frankly: "I do not like the old tribal style that over-emphasizes military power. We should pursue a more harmonious and natural lifestyle." Hamuul strongly agreed with this and revealed that he had contacted the Cenarion Circle and planned to arrange a meeting with a night elf archdruid.
Since Remulos was against bringing such strong hostility into Moonglade, the meeting was held in the relatively neutral Ashenvale. The dense forests here are full of life, which may provide a more peaceful environment for both parties to communicate. Cain and Hamuul hope that through this meeting, they can find a way to ease the tension between the Horde and the Alliance and jointly promote the revival of Orgrimmar.
Elerethe Renflair and Hamuul Runetotem each brought four druids, a total of ten people met at the meeting place. The two sides discussed the conflict between the Alliance and the Horde in Ashenvale and tried to find the possibility of peace. However, the originally beautiful and hopeful atmosphere was broken by the arrival of the enemy. The Twilight Hammer disguised as Horde orcs launched a surprise attack on the venue, and all the druids were slaughtered. In the end, only Hamuul survived. Hamuul wrote the story on a piece of parchment with his own blood, summoned an owl and gave it to Cairne Bloodhoof.
Hamuul recovered from his wounds at Camp Taurajo. There he learned of Cairne's death, and the true culprit behind the death of his childhood friend and tauren warchief, Magatha Grimtotem. Hamuul immediately began to assist his son, Baine Bloodhoof, as he had done with Cairne. Hamuul's knowledge, wisdom, and druidic contacts played a vital role in the campaign to retake Thunder Bluff from the Grimtotem, and allowed Baine to legitimately inherit his father's position as tauren warchief.
Hamuul met his old friend Cairne again at Redstone's funeral. He then accompanied Baine Bloodhoof to meet Garrosh Hellscream.
As Orgrimmar was plagued by water shortages, Garrosh came to Thunder Bluff and asked Baine to deliver water. Hamuul and Baine believed that the only way to solve the orcs' water problem was to get the goblins to stop destroying the environment, which was flatly rejected by Garrosh. Hamuul and Baine had a fierce argument, but in the end Baine decided to provide water to Garrosh. As carts of water headed towards Orgrimmar, the boar began to attack the caravans continuously and killed all the caravan guards. Baine was worried about these attacks and called Hamuul to ask him if he had found anything, but unfortunately the archdruid did not find anything.
After many studies, Hamuul finally discovered that the real reason why the boars frequently launched attacks was because their water sources had dried up. So they explained this discovery to Hellscream. Baine firmly believed that a peaceful solution to this problem could avoid more sacrifices, but Garrosh believed that the losses suffered by the tribe must be returned tenfold and insisted on using force to solve the problem.
However, Baine's insistence on a peaceful solution led to more caravans being attacked, and some tauren lost faith in Baine and the Horde and attempted to leave Thunder Bluff. After a larger attack, Baine began to doubt his leadership, and Hamuul comforted him.
When Hamuul entered his room, Baine looked up from his thoughts and said sadly. "I am confused, Hamuul. I don't know if this is the right thing to do. Perhaps the Far Wanderer is right, and the tribe is no longer the same as it was when my father was High Chief." He paused. "I was wondering if I had the ability to lead the people, but now I am questioning whether I should continue to lead..."
Hamuul responded in his deep voice. "Now is not the time to confuse yourself, young Bane. Be as good as your father, and he would have no problem recognizing your wisdom and passion for doing the right thing." He waved his hand. "Let those who cannot see this go. They will find their own way."
Garrosh personally led a group of Kor'kron to raid the quilboar's lair, but as the battle deepened, more and more quilboars poured out from all directions, and Garrosh gradually could not resist. At the critical moment, Baine and Hamuul came in with the Sunwalkers to rescue Garrosh. After evacuating the cave, Hamuul cast a spell at the entrance of the cave, and groundwater gushed out and flowed into the cave. The emergence of a new water source solved the threat of the quilboar, and then Baine sent Garrosh away and returned to Thunder Bluff with other tauren. The clans that had previously expressed concerns about Baine's leadership and the future of the tribe personally came to apologize to him.
"There has always been a better solution, and you have been ignoring it. Open your eyes and see the blessing of Mother Earth!" With that, Hamuul took a step forward and roared, stabbing his staff into the ground.
A mighty fountain erupted in front of Hamuul, and with a thunderous roar, it rushed directly towards the albino quilboar, pushing them back into the crypts. Those who remained behind were knocked down by the eruption of the surface water, just like Garrosh, who was filled with resentment. As for Hamuul, he remained steady, anchored to the land he revered.
A new river flowed from the point where Hamuul had thrust the staff, flowing along the stone and the terrain into the depths of the crypt.
