Chapter 362: Little Pei's Dream
Mrs. Bai sneered helplessly: "See, I told you they don't trust me and won't tell me any arrangements."
Ai Wanxin had no time to talk nonsense with her. She clasped her five fingers together and the light thread tightened. Mrs. Bai wailed in pain and her whole body was cracked like an exquisite white jade porcelain vase. The cracks climbed up her pale and beautiful cheeks and extended from the corners of her rosy lips to her ears. At first glance, it looked like an extremely happy smile, but with Mrs. Bai's eyes covered with white film, it felt very strange.
However, the scene was fleeting. Mrs. Bai's body disintegrated in the air like weathered gravel. A red crystal core peeled off from her heart and fell straight into the dark crater. Before it fell into the lava, the crystal core had dimmed and shattered into floating sand, which was blown away by the wind.
Ai Wanxin suddenly felt that this scene was familiar, but she had no time to think about it. She had not obtained the Juedong Dream, the people here had not been rescued, and the Hell Well in Zhangcheng was opened again. She suddenly felt that Han Ce's supernatural power seemed quite useful. Could he give her a copy too?
Fortunately, Brother Han is by her side.
As soon as Ai Wanxin turned her head, Yin Yanhan whispered in her ear, "I'll go to Zhangcheng first."
After saying that, he gently touched her earlobe with his cool lips, took a step with his long legs, and jumped off the little fox.
A huge black beast with a tiger head, long tail and red eyes appeared out of nowhere and caught Yin Yanhan steadily.
Their eyes met in the air. Ai Wanxin nodded slightly. Taowu howled to the sky, the sound almost drowned out the roaring gale on the top of the mountain. Then he turned around and flew towards Zhangcheng.
The little fox leaned down and pressed down as hard as it could, passing over the blue crystal trapped in the lava like a red lightning. In the blink of an eye, the Juedong dream had fallen into Ai Wanxin's space.
Countless chaotic and noisy images flooded into her mind at the same time.
"——Evelyn was called by the Lord and rests in His arms. May the Spirit of the Lord be with her and lead her through the valley of death and into the kingdom of eternal life." Next to the black marble tombstone, the priest kissed the silver cross in his hand, and the white coffin was slowly lowered into the tomb.
A tall, middle-aged man dressed in black mourning clothes walked up holding the hand of a blond boy and threw the white rose in his hand into the grave.
He took one last look at the coffin, lowered his head and said to the little boy, "Junlin, say goodbye to your mother."
Pei Junlin, who looks no more than six years old, has tears in his light blue eyes. His fair skin makes the light red under his eyes and on the tip of his nose particularly obvious.
He opened his almost bloodless lips and called out softly in a childish voice, "Mom—" but he couldn't utter the rest of the words.
The man had no more patience. He leaned over, grabbed little Pei Junlin's hand, and dropped the white rose in his hand onto the coffin.
In an instant, two crystal tears fell from Pei Junlin's long and light eyelashes, splashing on the black marble surface and disappearing into the morning dew.
The scene changed. In the empty and classical large bedroom, the lights were off. A small figure was sitting in the center of the large bed with his knees hugged. The cold wind from the half-open balcony brought cheerful sounds of laughter, but it could not blow away the darkness that seemed to have solidified in the bedroom.
The door creaked open and a thin boy in a cloak walked in.
He was wearing a wizard robe and holding a small pumpkin lantern in his hand. The pumpkin lantern cast a warm orange light, illuminating the crystal clear eyes of little Pei Junlin on the big bed.
"Second brother..." little Pei Junlin called softly.
Pei Molin picked up the pumpkin lantern in his hand and asked, "Do you want candy? Do you want to go?"
The pumpkin lantern was very delicately made. The handle was carved into a magic wand, and the little pumpkin head was wearing a wrinkled wizard hat, exactly the same as the one on Peimerin's head. It was indeed quite attractive to a six-year-old child.
Little Pei Junlin hesitated for a moment, but still climbed down from the bed. He took the pumpkin lantern from Pei Molin's hand and flicked the tip of the wizard's hat with his fingers. An old and naughty voice came from somewhere in the pumpkin lantern: "Let me see which little wizard is teasing me?"
Only then did a little smile appear in Pei Junlin's dull eyes.
Pei Molin pulled the bed sheet over little Pei Junlin's head and said, "Just pretend to be a ghost."
Afterwards, he took little Pei Junlin through the long corridor of the castle, avoiding all the guests in the garden who were dressed as various ghosts, and the busy housekeepers and servants, and slipped to the lake which was covered with a thin layer of ice.
Little Pei Junlin was only wearing thin pajamas under the bed sheet. He was so cold that he wrapped himself tightly in the bed sheet. The white steam from his mouth wet his long eyelashes.
Pei Molin led him to the dock, jumped onto a sunseeker yacht, and pulled up the hesitant little Pei Junlin.
The yacht started with a roar, breaking through the thin ice shell and heading towards the center of the lake.
The freezing night wind made Pei Junlin's face look even more pale. He asked anxiously, "Second brother, where are we going?"
The yacht gradually stopped, and there was only a bleak crescent moon in the sky. Pei Molin walked behind Pei Junlin without knowing when, and pushed him off the yacht suddenly. Then he looked down indifferently at the little Pei Junlin struggling in the dark lake, and said coldly: "Of course I'm sending you to see your mother."
The cold and struggle soon exhausted the six-year-old child, and he sank into the icy lake along with the extinguished pumpkin lantern.
There was only a satin sheet on the lake, drifting away with the waves.
The yacht started again. After turning, Pei Molin stood on the bow, grabbing the side of the boat with his slender pale fingers. Suddenly, he heard a "plop" sound.
There was a sound of heavy object falling into the water from behind. Pei Molin turned back suddenly, but found nothing. There was only the yacht breaking through the white waves on the lake and smashing a crescent moon.
