Infinitely Criticizing the Villain for Being Like My Ex-Boyfriend
Chapter 18 I Want to Be With You Forever
"Get out." The third young master was in a good mood and had no intention of killing his servants.
After all the servants had left, he turned to look at Zhang Chunliang and motioned for him to go and make the food himself.
Zhang Chunliang was a little confused. He looked around and found that this was a large courtyard with many rooms used for storing ingredients and making food.
It was completely different from the small courtyard of the beautiful monk he had seen before.
He walked around the yard but couldn't find any back door.
Is there two kitchens in the City Lord's Mansion? Zhang Chunliang muttered as he turned around and bumped his forehead with the Third Young Master behind him.
He was startled. The third young master walked without making any sound and he didn't even notice him behind him all the way.
The third young master was following closely behind, wanting to see what the little servant was looking for, when he was suddenly hit hard. With a "wuuuu" sound, he squatted on the ground, covering his nose, and it took him a long time to recover.
Zhang Chunliang knew that this guy deserved it, but he still couldn't help but squat down and comfort him.
When the third young master finally calmed down from the pain and was willing to pull his head out of his legs, Zhang Chunliang couldn't help but let out a "puff" and his whole body began to tremble.
This guy had two lines of nosebleeds and his nose was red. He looked miserable and a little funny.
Seeing that the Third Young Master had narrowed his eyes dangerously, in order to prevent him from suddenly going crazy, Zhang Chunliang tore off a piece of his clothes with trembling hands and wiped his face clean.
"Master, is there only one kitchen here?" He has not forgotten the purpose of his visit.
"There should be a few more in the kitchen." The third young master rubbed his nose and started to lose his temper, "One can't finish smashing everything. If there are a few more, I won't have to do anything every day but smash dishes."
It seems that this guy is very dissatisfied with the dishes he eats every day.
Zhang Chunliang frowned and tried his best to describe it to him: "In this mansion, there is a monk who cooks delicious food. I remember he lives here, and I have eaten the food he cooked..."
When the Third Young Master heard Zhang Chunliang say that he had eaten other people's food, his face changed. Without caring about being angry, he frowned and pulled Zhang Chunliang to his side, looking at him carefully.
"You are fine." He was a little confused. "I haven't heard of any monks in the mansion."
He thought for a long time, and his dark eyes suddenly stared straight at Zhang Chunliang's face.
Zhang Chunliang felt a little uneasy when he looked at him, so he asked back, "Is there anything wrong?"
"There is only one guess." The third young master lowered his eyes, his long eyelashes hiding the look in his eyes, and then he spoke with certainty.
"You're so hungry you start imagining people who don't exist."
"..." Zhang Chunliang felt that he was just starving, otherwise why would he really want to ask this guy for his opinion.
In the end, the two returned empty-handed and took a bunch of pots, pans, and seasonings back to the yard.
The Third Young Master sniffed out these objects with his dog's nose. He could feel that these things had basically no effect on the body.
But he looked very disgusted and didn't understand how he was supposed to swallow the strange sour and salty powder and black liquid.
"It looks even worse than noodles," he commented firmly.
…It turns out this guy also knows that those bugs taste terrible, and he is just hypnotizing himself that bugs are food?
Zhang Chunliang looked at this unfortunate guy with some pity and decided to open the door to a new world for him.
He quickly found some stones and built a small fire in the yard.
He does this job with ease.
The orphanage was short of food, and most of the time each child only received enough food to fill their stomachs. When no one donated money, the children would often go hungry for several days.
For Shen Xingyi, who has been bullied for many years, these days are even more difficult.
Zhang Chunliang had finally gained his trust and was eager to help his friend.
So every day he saved some food for Shen Xingyi.
But as a growing teenager, he could only endure every night of waking up hungry.
Within a few days, his abnormality was discovered by Shen Xingyi.
This usually reserved and silent child got very angry and refused to accept Zhang Chunliang's food again.
Zhang Chunliang also understood that this was not a long-term solution, so he spent most of his time every day thinking about how to get some food.
Whether it was digging for insects, shooting birds, or catching fish in wild rivers, he tried it all.
Unfortunately, whatever he thought of, other children in the orphanage would follow suit and soon there was nothing to eat nearby.
On every weekend, he would sneak to the back door trash can of a nearby large supermarket and find something useful.
There were vegetables that were not fresh but edible, boxes of fruits that were infested with worms and had been thrown away, and expired bread and other foods.
He carefully selected the food that looked good and brought it back for Shen Xingyi to eat.
He even lied to the children and told them that he was doing part-time jobs outside and couldn't finish the food he brought back.
Shen Xingyi was half-believing and half-doubting, but still forced him to eat with him.
What impressed him most was one Valentine's Day, when a couple was arguing on the street. The girl angrily threw the gift given by the boy into the trash can and left.
It was really cold that day, but Zhang Chunliang was very patient. He squatted next to the trash can, silently waiting for the girl to regret her decision and come back to pick up her gift.
But until the cleaners came out to work in the early morning, no one went to pick up the pile of exquisite gifts.
That's mine, Zhang Chunliang thought calmly.
Then he quickly climbed onto the trash can and took away the entire pile of stuff before the cleaner could notice it.
When he walked back to the orphanage, it was already 5 a.m. The aunts in the orphanage didn't care where the children went, as long as they didn't cause trouble for the orphanage.
But he didn't expect that at 5 a.m., there was a small figure squatting at the door of the orphanage waiting for him.
"You still remember to come back?!" Shen Xingyi was more than furious. He was wearing thin clothes and was shivering in the sub-zero weather.
Zhang Chunliang only noticed his red eyes, and could imagine how scared and worried the child must be after not coming home all night.
He quickly put on an apologetic smile and told the child to go back into the house.
But he refused to go back no matter what, like a small stubborn stone.
Zhang Chunliang was troubled by Shen Xingyi's bad temper and was afraid that he would get cold, so he dug out a candle lighter from the gift and clumsily made a fire for Shen Xingyi in an open space to keep him warm.
The child was finally coaxed into calmness. He roasted the fire and glanced at the beautiful cake beside him.
Zhang Chunliang didn't let him wait long. He lit the heart-shaped candle and put it in. The two of them carefully ate up all the exquisite little cakes.
"Did you buy this for me?" Shen Xingyi narrowed his eyes and asked quietly, like a sated cat.
How dare Zhang Chunliang say that he found it from the trash can? He coughed dryly, his eyes wandered around, and he made a "hmm" sound, pretending to admit it.
"Then I agree, and you can't regret it." Shen Xingyi's inexplicable words made him a little confused, but Zhang Chunliang, who was feeling guilty, didn't think much about it and just wanted to turn the page as soon as possible.
Later, Shen Xingyi often secretly took him out to warm himself by the fire at night. Even in the hottest summer, he would ask Zhang Chunliang to light a small fire, as if it were some kind of ritual.
Over time, Zhang Chunliang's skills in making fire became more and more proficient.
It was also a long time later that Zhang Chunliang accidentally dropped the contents of Shen Xingyi's box when he was cleaning it.
One of the cards, which was wrapped tightly in plastic, attracted him.
"I want to be with you forever."
This is what the boy in the cake wanted to say to the girl, but Shen Xingyi mistakenly took it as Zhang Chunliang's confession.
Zhang Chunliang built a stove by the pond to boil water, and threw the long steamed buns mixed with various seasonings into the water.
I don’t know whether the young couple finally fulfilled their promise, but he will never have the chance anyway.
