Tomb Raiders Notes: If Innocence Had a Brother

When I was about to fall asleep, Li Rui came back and dragged me into the tent, covered me with a big towel, and went out again.

When I woke up, it was almost dark. Li Sian said that I had slept for five hours. They broke up the dry food and made it into porridge for me to drink. After drinking it, I fell asleep again, but I dreamed that I was bitten by the giant salamander in the water. I woke up in a cold sweat.

When I opened my eyes and looked towards the roof of the tent, I realized I was on the shore. A hand suddenly appeared on his forehead, and Li Sian's voice also sounded, roughly asking Li Rui if I had a fever.

I wanted to say I was fine, but my mouth felt like it was stuck. Li Rui took a towel from outside to wipe my sweat and gave me some water.

Early the next morning, I was woken up by Li Sian. The sky was just turning white outside the tent.

"Let's try to go back to Agui today. How are you?" Li Sian asked me.

I nodded, indicating that it should be fine.

Li Rui helped me fix my ribs. It's still unclear whether I have a rib fracture or not, so be careful.

At around ten o'clock, Caixia came to pick us up with her mule. Li Si'an lied, saying that I was playing at the lake and didn't pay attention to the fault under my feet and fell down. I was too panicked when I went upstream and was hit in the stomach by a stone falling from the fault.

The group of people waited until it was dark before returning to Agui's house. When Agui saw us returning with the mules, he ran out excitedly. Li Si'an asked Li Rui to help me back to the room, and he and Agui started talking.

Dinner was stew and sweet wine. The fat man drank too much and grabbed Agui with a big tongue and refused to let go. I listened to the fat man drinking like crazy below, laughing and sighing.

Wu Xie saw them eating together, and Agui introduced that it was the tour guide from the travel agency who came in to take the newcomers this time. The young man named Li Rui took out a bowl of porridge and some light food from the kitchen and went to the room. Wu Xie felt strange, grabbed the cloud and asked, "Is there anyone living up there?"

Yun Cai glanced at Li Rui and said, "The young tour guide who came with their travel agency was shocked when he stepped on the fault in the lake."

Wu Xie didn't think much about it, he just felt that this person was quite unlucky.

Due to drinking the night before, Wu Xie and the others didn't get up until eleven o'clock at noon. Li Sian left Miao Village by bus early this morning, and Li Rui and I stayed behind. Huo Sisi said that the most important thing might be in the underwater Chinese-style compound, and there was no need to take risks when the things were in hand, so she told me to evacuate as soon as possible.

"The fat man returned to the room with the box in his hand." Li Rui told me. Then it was heard from below that the three people were asking Caixia about the wooden building in Houshan, and they went out again after a while.

"Let's go too." Seeing the trio turning to the back mountain, Li Rui and I went downstairs and walked towards the wooden building.

After walking for ten minutes, I squatted under a big tree five meters away from the wooden building. Li Rui wandered towards the village and disappeared after a while.

The heat in the Miao village is gathering in the afternoon, and the young girls all go to the stream in the back mountain to enjoy the cool air. It seems quiet here. I waited under the tree for more than an hour when I suddenly smelled the pungent smell of kerosene, and then a thick smoke came out of the wooden building window.

A strange figure ran past the low wall of the wooden building, and Li Rui chased after him. I yelled "Zhang Qiling!" at the figure, and the other person ran towards the dense forest without stopping.

Li Rui was about to chase him over there, but some villagers here had already seen the thick smoke starting to gather. I greeted Li Rui and asked him to come back quickly.

"Put out the fire first." I glanced at the direction in which the other party was jumping, then looked back at the burning wooden building. I took Li Rui to look for a bucket at Agui's house and fetch water to put out the fire.

When we returned with the buckets, many villagers gathered around the wooden building, and everyone actively controlled the fire within a certain range to avoid causing a mountain fire. The stilt building was filled with flames amidst the billowing smoke, and the heat was soaring into the sky. All we could do was wait for it to burn out.

There was a burst of exclamation in the crowd, and a person rushed towards the wooden building, rolled into the space under the stilt building and disappeared without a trace. There were two people running behind me, trying to get in.

Five or six meters away from the house, a scalding heat wave hit my face. Rushing into a fire so recklessly is no different than committing suicide. My face instantly turned pale, I put down the bucket in my hand and ran over. He grabbed one foot of Fatty and Wu Xie who were about to climb in, trying to pull them out.

Li Rui poured a bucket of water on Fatty and Wu Xie and quickly pulled them out. As soon as they helped the two people up, they heard a loud crashing sound from the fire scene, and then Zhang Qiling rolled out from the gap of the wooden building, with white smoke all over his body, and stumbled towards the crowd.

Someone immediately poured water on him. When Wu Xie saw the person coming out, he pushed me away and ran towards Zhang Qiling, regardless of whether he was injured. The fat man finally turned around and said thank you to the two brothers.

I watched Wu Xie pointing at the black ash on Zhang Qiling's left hand, and I guess he took it out. I heard Wu Xie yelling: "You don't want to live anymore!"

What Zhang Qiling said later, the surrounding environment and distance no longer allowed me to hear it. My body has not recovered yet. I was anxious and angry just now, and now I feel weak. He told Li Rui to go back to Agui first.

When we got back, Caixia poured me a glass of water and prepared two wet towels for us to wipe our faces with. I just went to pick up Wu Xie and Fatty, and the heat wave hit the pavement. My hair and eyebrows were all frizzy, and there were still traces of smoke on my face.

As soon as I drank the water, I vomited and felt sick to my stomach. Li Rui was afraid that I had a recurrence of internal injuries, so he didn't dare to delay, so he and Caixia sent me to the village office to find a doctor.

When they arrived at the place, the doctor treated Zhang Qiling's burns again, while the fat man stood aside. Wu Xie stood outside the door with an ugly expression.

"Grandpa, take a look at him quickly." Caixia came in and greeted the doctor.

The fat man was initially dissatisfied with someone cutting in line, but after seeing clearly that it was me and Li Rui, he quickly moved out of the way.

After vomiting once, I felt uncomfortable in my stomach and was sweating a little. I told him again about falling off the fault line. The doctor took my blood pressure and then performed a simple set of sight, touch and listening.

"What I can do is limited. The best situation is that he has no abdominal bleeding at the moment. Specifically, you should go to the city as soon as possible. This cannot be delayed." The doctor said to Li Rui.

After returning, Li Rui asked me if I wanted to go back as soon as possible. I said wait and told him not to go to the woods or leave Agui's wooden building.

I woke up in the afternoon and Caixia came in with the ground ointment. I asked her if the fire was out? Caixia said it was almost done, and a barefoot doctor came in the afternoon to treat the wounds of the injured with herbs. Seeing that my wrists were blistered by the fire, she also asked for some.

When Caixia was dressing my wounds, I looked at her and said, "I heard that the fat boss likes your sister."

Caixia was stunned and said, "That's all a joke."
