When it comes to spiritual practice, it is best to let nature take its course in the beginning, because the more you want to gain something, the less you will get.

In Deng Weihong's opinion, it was a bit unnecessary for Tian Qingyong and others to ask her for advice on spiritual practice. The true God was clearly right before their eyes, so why did they seek outside?

However, what Tian Qingyong and others didn't know was just right. For some things and resources, the less outsiders knew about them, the more benefits those outsiders could gain.

Because of this, Deng Weihong wanted to get Zhang Lan's permission even more. She had been to Qingshan Village several times. After hearing about the Bodhisattva's appearance, Deng Weihong, who was staying in Zhongyue Temple, ran over as soon as possible.

After confirming that the rumors were true and witnessing a miraculous event with his own eyes, Deng Weihong became even more determined to practice in Qingshan Village.

But the lineage she cultivated was different from others. If she went to someone else's place and offered sacrifices and cultivated without the owner's permission, who knew what kind of spirit would come when she was cultivating.

Even in spiritual practice, there is a saying that some people fight for a breath, and Buddhas fight for a stick of incense.

Dharma, wealth, friends and place, each one is indispensable.

In Taoism, there are four key points in practicing Taoism: Dharma, wealth, companions, and land. A Taoist practitioner needs to go into seclusion, which is called "entering the seclusion room" in Taoism, and it means entering the seclusion room completely. It is difficult for Taoists to enter the seclusion room, as they need Dharma, wealth, companions, and land.

Dharma is the method, and it requires the guidance of a wise master.

Wealth is food for the Tao, that is, money. You need money to live. You want to be in seclusion for three or ten years. Although you can go without food for several days, you still need to eat.

A companion is someone who greets you. You cannot find an ordinary person. This person must understand the Tao, and his Tao may even be higher than yours. He can see what level you have reached in the pass, and will not call you when he shouldn't, and will not touch you when he shouldn't. Only then can you be a Taoist companion.

So it is very difficult to be a fellow practitioner. When you sit there and enter into a state of concentration, others can’t see it, and they are used to joking with you, pushing and shaking you, and it’s over! Maybe you will die there! So it is very difficult to be a fellow practitioner, and you must know how to protect the Dharma.

The ground is the location. When it reaches a certain level, it must be airtight and air-conditioned. Sometimes I feel like I am dead in the confinement room. The so-called ground refers to the geomantic omen, or the earth's magnetic field, in today's popular terms.

So Sakyamuni Buddha looked for a place everywhere, and finally he attained enlightenment under the Bodhi tree. According to Buddhist scriptures, since ancient times, the area under the Bodhi tree has been a diamond land, with earth energy rising up. The Buddhas of the past, present, and future all attained enlightenment at that location.

At the beginning, "ground" is important. After you have achieved some success, it will be different. There are temples everywhere and you can achieve success anytime and anywhere without being restricted by these things.

Therefore, the path of practicing Taoism is very difficult to walk. It is easy for ordinary people to brag about it, but if they really want to practice Taoism, they can only practice it slowly.

The so-called dedicated practice means to stay away from all worldly affairs and all perfection.

What is the perfect place? It is called a forest, or under a tree, or an empty room. A cave in a valley, a pile of rice stalks, etc. are called an empty room. In a large forest, it is called under a forest. Sitting or lying on the edge of a remote grave is called a forest. You should know that valleys, caves, rice stalks, etc., in a large forest, sitting or lying on the edge of a remote grave, or a forest, under a tree, or an empty room are all called places. There are five kinds of perfect places.

These pure temples are not visited by ordinary people. To become a monk and practice, one must first choose a place, which evolved into a Taoist saying: "Dharma, wealth, companions, land, and teacher". To practice, one must first have a place, and this place can make the practice complete. There are five conditions in total.

It means that if a place has been dignified in appearance since its inception, pleasing to the eyes of all, clean and free of filth, with complete gardens and ponds, it is clear and pleasant, with no high or low ground, no poisonous thorns, and no many bricks, stones, and rubble, it can make those who see it feel pure in their hearts and live there happily, cultivate the practices of cessation, feel happy and joyful, and abide in cessation. This is called the first perfect place.

Feng Shui is not something that should be considered when practicing Buddhism, but this section is all about Feng Shui. Where can one find it? It is so difficult to find a good place. If the practice place is perfect, once you live in this good place, your mind will gradually stop thinking about the outside world, and you will have fewer and fewer concerns, or even no concerns at all. So it does not mean that you can live in any grave mound. This is the first condition.

Moreover, if the place is quiet during the day, with few sounds at night, and with few evil and poisonous substances such as mosquitoes, flies, wind, sun, snakes, and scorpions, this is called the second perfect place.

A place with good feng shui, where there is no noise during the day, few sounds at night, no mosquitoes, and no poisonous snakes or ferocious beasts, will naturally be like this. This is the second perfect place.

Also, if there are no evil lions, tigers, leopards, wolves, enemies, thieves, non-humans, and other terrifying things in the place.

There is a place where there are no wild beasts, thieves, or troubles from humans or non-humans. It is a place where you can live in peace. Speaking of human troubles, if you live in a temple, the abbot, or the old monks or nuns will bother you and talk to you. These are human troubles. Speaking of "non-humans", they refer to invisible spirits and ghosts.

In this state, the body and mind are at ease, without any doubts, and one dwells in peace and happiness. This is called the perfection of the third state.

To practice, you need to find a good place. The ancient masters built temples for the purpose of purifying the place. Building a temple is like planting trees. The predecessors planted trees and the descendants enjoyed the shade. Building a good place for the descendants to practice is to provide for the descendants. You need to find a "perfect place" before building a temple, so that many practitioners can live together in one temple to practice.

Become a monk and practice Buddhism, everyone will support you, someone will earn money for you to eat, and all the places will be perfect, then you can practice Buddhism. Living in this world, where are you not bothering others, where are you not owing debts? Therefore, we must repay the fourfold grace, and tell you not to be complacent, not arrogant, this is the reason. A pure temple must be maintained well, the people who founded it before have worked so hard and have great merit! This is the third good place.

Furthermore, if the place is suitable and one can easily obtain the necessities of life, it is not difficult to obtain clothes, and there is no lack of food and support, this is called the fourth perfection of the place.

In that temple, when it is cold in winter, it is easy to beg for clothes; when there is no rice, it is also easy to beg for some rice to eat. There are also people to protect the Dharma. This is the fourth perfect place.

Furthermore, if one is in a place where one is under the guidance of good teachers and where there are wise and ascetic people, they can enlighten people on things that have not yet been enlightened, and make clearer and clearer things that have already been enlightened. They can explain the profound meanings of sentences with wisdom, understand them with skillful means, and diligently explain them so that one’s wisdom and insight can quickly be purified. This is called the perfection of the fifth place.

To cultivate the Way, you need good teachers to give you guidance, and you also need fellow practitioners. For things you don't understand, your teacher will help you understand, and once you understand, you will be able to go deeper and clearer. Only with these conditions can you cultivate. Therefore, the founders of the great monasteries in the past were all masters who built good places to support their disciples' cultivation.

People who practice Taoism say that there are four conditions for practicing Taoism: Dharma, wealth, companions, and land. One must have a good teacher (Dharma) and good fellow Taoists (companions), because one has reached a certain stage in Taoism. One needs to be looked after by fellow Taoists who are experts. Practicing Taoism requires money. Before becoming a Buddha, one must have food (wealth) and a suitable place to live (land).
