But choosing one now almost means giving up the other.

It's not as simple as just giving up one model.

It will also deal a huge blow to the technology development route behind the model.

If we can retain these two technology lines at the same time through cooperation, it will obviously be a win-win choice.

GT25000 is just not very suitable as a ship power source, it is not really very backward.

With the development of the national economy, if the demand for industrial gas turbines increases in the future, they will still be able to play a role due to their relatively low cost and the fact that Soviet products are not generally picky about fuel.

Moreover, even if we only consider it from the perspective of the navy, retaining the gas turbine R&D capability of the ship system will leave more options for the future.
