Therefore, it is imperative to obtain its own digital precision machining capabilities.

In the first half of this year, this research, which was originally aimed solely at high-precision spiral bevel gears, was included in the Seiko Project and expanded into a broader "new principle and new method of digital precision machining of high-performance complex curved surfaces."

After obtaining new resources and funding, Professor Li Zhihong finally began to change the last step of the traditional three-step process of "gear milling-heat treatment-grinding" to gear grinding, and trial-produced a gear that met the requirements in a laboratory environment. Finished products, but they have never been able to be transferred to industrial production.

The most difficult part of this process is that the gear grinding process must be coordinated with the heat treatment process to correct the deformation error generated during the latter process. However, the grinding process itself will generate a large amount of grinding heat, affecting the correction accuracy and subsequent stress release. process.

Relevant foreign manufacturers have been deeply involved in this field for decades or even hundreds of years, and each has a set of fairly accurate grinding processing models. Even so, for different specific products, a large number of experiments are still required to determine the processing parameters.

Domestic research has only started less than 20 years ago, so it can be imagined how difficult it is to catch up in a short period of time.
