In fact, when I married Xiaoshui's mother, she was only six years old, still very young. I was afraid that the child would not be willing to accept the new family, so I tried hard to be a good father. I couldn't beat or scold the child, which would make the child resentful or rebellious. I couldn't let the child go, which would make the child feel the father's love and discipline.

In fact, when Xiaoshui was little, our father-daughter relationship was very harmonious. Xiaoshui was a little lively, very energetic and very cute. Although she was naughty sometimes, she was a good child overall.

Shui's mother: I can testify that my ex-husband treated Xiaoshui very well. In order to prevent Xiaoshui from feeling alienated, we decided not to have any more children. Shui Ma: We went directly to the boy's parents and made our attitude clear to them from the perspective of elders. On the surface, they were reasonable and did not want their children to neglect their studies. But they did not believe that their son took the initiative. It happened that girls developed early and Xiaoshui was pretty and loved to dress up, so they thought that Xiaoshui was seducing the boy.

I don't know where I got the news that her father was her stepfather, so I made up a lot of unpleasant things to say about her. You know, she said this and that about how her father treated her. Anyway, I tried to spread the word and force Xiaoshui to transfer to another school. That era was still very conservative. After all this, Xiaoshui's condition did not get better, but worse. She said there was a ghost in the house before, and we deliberately slept in separate rooms, letting her mother accompany her, and I slept alone in the so-called haunted room. But her mother and I didn't find anything, and everything was normal, so we suspected that she had a mental problem.

That night, after not getting enough sleep for many days, she finally couldn't stand it anymore and went to bed early, just after 8pm. You know, she is less than 14 years old, and she is in the growth period, so she should get enough sleep. Taking this opportunity, her mother and I went to the living room to discuss how to talk to her tomorrow morning. As we were talking, we heard unusual noises in the room.

It happened to be a cloudy and rainy day. We lived in an old building. A lightning strike caused a short circuit and the whole building was plunged into darkness. We finally found a spare candle and heard Xiaoshui talking. She spoke very fast and we couldn't make out the specific content. It sounded like she was roaring in a low voice, which was not like her usual voice at all.

Her mother and I quickly held a candle and went over to see her lying straight. The straightness was not something a normal person could have during sleep. It was like a taut bow that could snap up at any time.

Shui Ma: She did jump up, so fast that I was startled and the candle in my hand fell to the ground, and the room was plunged into darkness again.

But probably because of the rain, the raindrops could also reflect light, and after our eyes adjusted to the darkness, we saw her sitting upright on the bed, waving her hands constantly, as if she was trying to push something away. But she seemed unable to do so, and at the same time she kept shaking her hands and crying out in pain, as if she was hurt.

The scariest moment was when, in the dark, we could see her rolling her eyes. Under the dim light, the whites of her eyes were actually shining brightly, like a wild animal in the forest, with its eyes reflecting a strange light when it encounters light, which was particularly scary.
