Hogwarts: Don’t panic, Old Deng, I won’t be the Dark Lord
Chapter 18 Transformation Magic
The one-hour theoretical class was over. The little wizards in the classroom shook their dizzy heads during the ten-minute break, so that they could be in a better state for the next class.
"I feel like my head is about to explode. You two actually listened to this?" Harry said in disbelief as he looked at Sisley and Hermione who were acting like nothing happened.
"What's this? It's just so so." Sisley took out a piece of parchment and started to deduce it.
"In this case, wouldn't it be better to take out the wand and test it?" Ron said as his head became more and more swollen as he looked at Sisley's deduction results on the parchment.
"It has been practiced. This is a deduction record." Sisley said without raising his head.
"It's a world of geniuses... Hey, Nassy! Are any of your Ravenclaw students better than these two?" Suddenly Ron stopped a passing Ravenclaw and asked.
Ravenclaw looked at the densely packed symbols on Sisler's parchment and felt a rare feeling of fear. He thought about it for a while before saying, "We don't have any in this class. The seniors don't know."
"Okay, I understand." Ron covered his head and said decadently.
"Ron, if you had used the time you are complaining about now to study, you would never be like this." Hermione raised her head and said.
"No, no, no, geniuses are in the minority, and ordinary people like me are the majority. No matter how hard I study, I probably won't be able to catch up with you two." Ron quickly shook his head and said.
Hermione rolled her eyes helplessly, and then continued to read.
Not long after, Professor McGonagall returned to the classroom, and the little wizards quickly found their seats and sat down, waiting for Professor McGonagall to give orders.
Seeing this, Sisley put the parchment away and waited for Professor McGonagall's next step.
Professor McGonagall took out a match, and with a flick of her wand, the match automatically floated in front of everyone.
Sisley caught the match and waited quietly.
"Everyone should use the magic spell we learned in the last class to turn the match into a needle." Professor McGonagall said.
"Simple." Sisley said while chanting a spell, and a red light hit the match.
The match began to change shape, eventually turning into a... toothpick.
"The shape has changed, but the physical properties have not changed." Sisley bit his lip and said quietly.
"Need help? Mr. Thorne?" Professor McGonagall's voice sounded from behind Sisley.
"Thank you, Professor, but I want to think about it for a while." Sisley smiled at Professor McGonagall and said.
Professor McGonagall nodded and said, "Well, I wish you good luck. If you have anything you don't understand, feel free to ask me."
"Professor! I succeeded!" At this time, a Ravenclaw on the other side of the classroom raised his hand and said.
A strange color flashed in Professor McGonagall's eyes, but the color disappeared after seeing the so-called needle.
"Mr. Kyle, do you think I can't tell whether it's a needle or a toothpick? Do you think your idea of changing the color of the toothpick is clever? You have to pay for your academic misconduct, ten points from Ravenclaw." After Professor McGonagall finished speaking, she walked back to the podium.
"Children, I hope you learn magic for your own sake, not to deal with me. This will not do you any good." After that, he walked off the podium and started to patrol.
"What kind of transformations have I done before? At most, they change the quality and shape of objects, but I haven't really tried any transformation involving materials. What should I do?" Sisley's wand was between his fingers. Whirling around, he muttered to himself.
"Hermione, why is Sisley muttering to himself suddenly?" Harry noticed the murmur in Sisley's mouth and asked Hermione.
"He likes to ask repetitive questions to himself when he's thinking about things. Just get used to it," Hermione explained.
"I see." Harry nodded.
"I see! What Professor Flitwick said isn't entirely right!" The wand between Sisley's fingers suddenly stopped spinning.
Sisley then pointed his wand at the toothpick on the table, began to chant different spells, and at the same time began to think about a metal sewing needle.
"Huh? Professor McGonagall! Sisley succeeded!" Upon seeing this, Hermione quickly raised her hand and called Professor McGonagall over.
Soon Professor McGonagall came over and took the sewing needle in her hand and looked at it carefully, with a sparkle in her eyes.
"Very good, ten points from Gryffindor! Mr. Thorne, it seems you are much better than I thought." Professor McGonagall said with praise.
"Thank you for the compliment." Sisley said generously.
Professor McGonagall left and continued to patrol the classroom, while Hermione quickly asked: "What's going on? You didn't even recite the spell correctly just now!"
Sisley smiled slightly and explained: "Because this is actually the same as Black Wind Whip. Although it is not an emotional magic, it needs to be associated with the target of transformation."
"The meaning of this transformation spell translated into runes and then translated into English is to transform it into a needle. I just recited the transformation in the runes."
"At the same time, I think of a sewing needle made of metal. It sounds complicated to say, but it is actually very simple to practice."
"Hermione, Harry and Ron, recall the feeling when you used the Black Wind Whip on the train, and think of a steel needle in your mind." Sisley shared the experience with his companions in a low voice.
Hermione nodded and began to pick up the wand and start operating it, while Harry and Ron closed their eyes and began to recall the feeling of using Black Wind Whip before.
As an obscure spell sounded, Hermione smiled in relief.
"Professor McGonagall! I succeeded too!" Hermione said excitedly, raising her hands.
Soon Professor McGonagall came over, looked at Hermione's steel needle and nodded: "Congratulations, Miss Granger, you have won five points for Gryffindor."
Hermione complained to Sisley with some disappointment: "You have ten points, I only have five points."
"What's the matter? I was the first to succeed, and you were the second. Of course it's different." Sisley shrugged and explained.
"It's always been like this." Hermione said a little disappointed, remembering that it was the same in the Muggle primary school before. Sisley had always been firmly in first place, but she could only be second.
"What's so sad about this?" Harry and Ron asked with confusion as they looked at Hermione who was in a bad mood.
"I've always been depressed since I was little." Sisley explained, stroking Hermione's hair.
"Oh~ growing up~" Ron and Harry said with curved lips.
