Lords of Camelot

Chapter 646 What must be done

Two months later, Davidian has recovered a lot. At least now as long as he doesn't move vigorously, the pain in his back is not so obvious.

Merlin was helping him apply ointment on his back at ease. This ointment was adjusted by Merlin herself to maximize the removal of scars. By then, only a few shallow marks would be left. She didn't want to see Davian's many rugged and strange wounds.

She even felt a little hatred towards Gao Wen. Why did he use such harsh force? This is what a rigid model student is like, right?

"Don't be angry with Gawain, he just did what he should do." Davian could feel the indignation in Merlin's heart, so he spoke to comfort her.

Hearing his words, Merlin sighed and smiled again, saying, "Is it me or you who have the blood of a nightmare? Your ability to see through people's hearts is getting better and better."

"After what happened to her, I started to learn to read people's expressions more carefully. I can't always suffer losses in this situation, right?"

Davian laughed, and Merlin laughed with him. Then the two began to talk about other things. Although Davian was no longer the Lord of Camelot, thanks to his wife, he still knew more or less what happened in the Camelot court.

Mordred has been getting busier and busier lately, and Davian often complains that he has become a mature little adult. But Mordred doesn't feel anything. The capable should be in the right position, and he is the capable person now, so he should do his best to complete his father's unfinished business.

The Lord of Camelot and the Lord of the First Legion, these two positions were placed on him, and his efforts were also seen by Davian. Davian often felt that he had not made a mistake in choosing a son, and that his son was excellent beyond words.

"I'm free now. I don't have to do anything now. I just need to accompany you." After the ointment was applied, Davian held Merlin in his arms again. Now he was living a retired life.

Although it was a very dishonorable and shameful retirement, Davian was still satisfied with his current life. Life with Merlin by his side made him feel relaxed, and he felt at ease.

However, Merlin still mentioned another thing at this moment, something that Davian would not say, but was always thinking about. His child, the child still in Guinevere's belly, was estimated to be six or seven months old at this moment.

Hearing this, Davian's face was filled with sorrow. He took Merlin's hand and kissed it gently before saying, "After a while, we will go to Canterbury. This is for Guinevere and my unborn child. We will name him and let him be accompanied by his father at the moment of his birth."

"I knew you couldn't let it go. You're always too responsible." Merlin smiled. She didn't really care about this matter. If she wanted to go, she could go. After all, he was Davian's offspring, although Merlin wouldn't have any feelings for him.

Davian's sorrow did not subside. He still said to Merlin: "But I still feel guilty, Merlin... This shouldn't be the case."

Merlin pulled her hands away at this moment. She held Davian's face with both hands and said to him: "I am your woman. I have my principles and stubbornness. I have loved you like this all my life. I will never be unfaithful to you. I can only allow myself to love only you in my life. After meeting you, no other man can really enter my life."

Just as the couple were saying these cheesy words, there was a gentle knock on the door.

"Father, Mother, King Arthur is here."

Gareth's voice came from outside the door, and Davian responded that he would be down soon, and asked King Arthur to wait in the living room for a while.

Arthur sat there as Davian came down after getting dressed. Seeing Davian's face regaining some vitality, he smiled with relief.

"I am injured and cannot perform the salute. Please forgive me." Davian bowed his head slightly as a salute, and Arthur signaled him not to be so polite. They were all family, and it would be too formal to be like this.

"I'm not here for anything else, Davian. Please go to Canterbury on my behalf when the time comes. Guinevere should be giving birth in about three months."

Hearing this, Davian nodded and told Arthur that he had intended to do so. Arthur was naturally relieved to receive Davian's reply.

"She is also a pitiful woman. It is not easy for her to live firmly for the child in her belly after being exploited like this. I hope that her future life will not bring her more pain."

Arthur and Davian could both understand Guinevere's sadness. During their honeymoon period, they happened to see Morgan seducing Arthur, and she kept this secret in her heart for more than ten years.

Coupled with her own gradual aging, the pressure of not being able to walk with Arthur to the end, and the loneliness of having no children, although this disaster finally happened, Davian and Arthur still couldn't blame her for anything.

Perhaps if we really have to blame her, we can only blame her for not being brave enough. If she had explained what happened that night at the beginning, none of these things would have happened.

"If you can stay by her side at that time, it will surely bring her more spiritual comfort. It would be too pitiful if the child was born without the company of his father. This is an unfortunate thing. Don't let him suffer such torture."

Davian nodded and said he would. Although he did not have any love between a man and a woman for Guinevere, he would do what he should do out of other emotions and a sense of responsibility.

"Arthur, this is really sad for you. Perhaps I should apologize to you. I originally arranged a marriage for you with good intentions, but in the end it turned out like this."

Arthur held out his hand to signal Davian not to say that. It was not their intention for things to develop like this. But then Arthur laughed again and said, "But this may also confirm what I said at the beginning. If you were not so devoted, you would have a lot of beautiful women around you."

After saying this, Merlin's eyes were full of sharpness and glared at him. Arthur immediately stopped talking. Davian shook his head. Arthur would be frivolous in front of him and Merlin and say things that a king shouldn't say, but it didn't matter. It proved that he was loyal to him.

"If I wasn't so devoted, how could I have caught your teacher's eye? I am very satisfied to have her love, and I don't ask for anything more. Well, if you have nothing else, stay for lunch. I have recovered a lot now, and it's time to cook to prove that I still have energy."

Arthur burst into laughter when he heard this, and while he was laughing he wanted to have a couple of drinks with Davian. But Merlin immediately said that Davian couldn't drink alcohol right now, as he hadn't recovered yet, so how could he do that?

After being taught a lesson by his teacher, Arthur naturally stopped saying such strange things. He didn't want to make his teacher angry again.
