Lords of Camelot

Chapter 638 The Second End

For Davian, daily life passed by peacefully. His spirit was still strong, his wife still loved him, and his two children were growing up healthily. Nothing could be more satisfying than this.

The only thing that bothered him now was Britain's own problems, which were too frustrating and too bad. This was not something that could be changed by human power, and at this moment they were fighting against the will of the world.

However, today is the day when Tristan returns, and the result is still the same as before, they still fail to find the Holy Grail.

Davidian couldn't help but sigh at the helpless fact, but after that sigh, he returned to his normal self and went to personally greet his good friend.

It has been a tiring journey for him. After the military power and related affairs are handed over, he should be allowed to return home so that Tristan can be reunited with his wife and children.

The warhorse rushed to the front of Davian. After Tristan dismounted, he said helplessly: "I'm sorry, old friend. I can only do this much. I'm not even as good as Gawain. You have to send Mordred and Wincenrib to help me clean up the mess."

However, Davian grabbed his hand and asked Vincenrib to handle the delivery. The two went to the camp of the First Legion. Davian had prepared wine and food, and he wanted to have a good drink with Tristan.

"Thank you for your hard work. I have no way to repay you for your dedication. Please drink this cup to show my gratitude."

Davian filled his glass, but Tristan just said that there were not many people in Britain who were qualified to have Davian cook for them. Even King Arthur didn't have many opportunities to taste Davian's cooking. After all the hard work along the way, it was enough to have this meal to comfort him.

"Hahaha~ They're just some home-cooked dishes, not worth mentioning. Come, I'll toast to you!"

Davian raised his glass, and the sound of the two clinking glasses echoed in Davian's tent. After drinking the strong liquor, Tristan's face immediately turned ruddy.

This time it was not ale or wine, but real strong liquor. Britain did not produce this kind of liquor because there was not enough food. Davidian asked Lancelot to bring it back from the European continent. This kind of liquor was strong enough.

"This wine is too strong. I have only drunk this kind of wine a few times in my long life."

Tristan was shaking his head, and Davian signaled him to eat a few bites of food. He thought Tristan would not get drunk so quickly, but he didn't expect this guy to get drunk so quickly.

The two began to chat about family matters, such as Tristan's journey, Davian's life in Camelot, Morrison's gradual growth, and Isolde's anticipation for Tristan's return.

If Morrison was here today, he should have come to welcome Tristan. But he was unlucky because he, Gareth, and Mordred followed the Second Company to deal with the Saxons who had secretly landed on the island. They had all reported to Camelot, so they had to deal with it.

Davian told Tristan all these things one by one. After listening, Tristan suddenly complained about himself: "I am really an unqualified man. I actually abandoned my important son like this. Really..."

"What nonsense are you talking about? I was just taking care of him for you. Now that you are back, you will naturally take up your responsibilities again. Sir Tristan, I have never seen a knight in Britain with more delicate feelings than you. You have always been a good father and a good husband."

Davian spoke, and although he was speaking words of comfort, his attitude was quite stern. Being sentimental is sometimes a good thing, as it can make Tristan more empathetic to the grief of others and allow him to do more good deeds.

But at this time, sentimentality is completely a Debuff, and Davian will of course immediately correct his mistakes and prevent his thoughts from going in the wrong direction.

After hearing what Davian said, Tristan immediately returned to normal. He couldn't help but smile bitterly. After being away for more than two years, he himself was a little confused. What was he thinking?

I love my wife and my children, and I love them and work hard for their future. This is a normal relationship. I just feel a little lonely because I have been away from home for a while.

After returning home, everything naturally returned to normal.

Davian breathed a sigh of relief when he saw Tristan return to normal. He was afraid that this guy would doubt his wife again, and then he might have to slap Tristan in the face to let him know how strong he was.

Isolde is a brave woman whom she respects very much. Her calmness, generosity, bravery and kindness are all qualities that Davian respects. For such a lady, any questioning of her is a great disrespect.

Not long after, Tristan was drunk like a puddle of mud. Davian sighed, it seemed that he was really too tired in the past two years. Yes, the pursuit of the Holy Grail is such a job, a test for oneself, and also a test of how to face others.

Because this was a job that had a high chance of failure, and a troublesome job that would only prove that he was not a knight worthy of the Holy Grail.

Davian called the guards at the door in silence, and the soldiers of the Seventh Company helped Tristan up. Then Davian opened the fantasy book, and the blue lion jumped out.

"Thank you for your help, please send him back." Davian asked the Blue Lion to do him a small favor, and the Blue Lion naturally would not resist.

As long as drunk Tristan doesn't vomit all over it, that would be really unbearable...

Davian put Tristan on the back of the blue lion, and it started walking towards Tristan's home. Its steps were quite steady, and Tristan, who was drunk and sleeping, did not move.

The initial worry of drinking too much and vomiting did not happen at all, and the man and the lion arrived safely at Tristan's door. When Isolde saw her drunk husband while watering the flowers, she couldn't help but burst out laughing.

She walked slowly to the lion's side and helped her husband up. At the same time, she couldn't help pinching her husband's cheeks. Stupid, he must have been drunk by Lord Davian because of sentimentality and strange words during the banquet. Only he would be like this, Lord Gawain would not.

While her husband was so outstanding, God still gave him some shortcomings. This sentimentality has both positive and negative aspects. But it's also good, because it makes him look more like a normal human being, unlike King Arthur, who is too easily alienated by people.

It is not easy for a king. He protects his people but is alienated by them at the same time. Fortunately, the princess, Lord Davian, and Lord Merlin are here. With them around, the king can still feel more relaxed.

"Thank you. You should also return to Master Davian soon. When he sees you, he will surely understand that Tristan has reached home safely."

Isolde let the Blue Lion go back, and it was her job to take care of him. He was her husband, and it was her duty to take care of him.
