Lords of Camelot

Chapter 630 Married Life

"It seems that Gawain is not the chosen one. The Holy Grail is unwilling to appear in front of him." Arthur sighed helplessly, but Davian just smiled and acted as if he didn't care about it at all.

"Then let Tristan go and give it a try, and let him take Palamedes with him. I don't know if Tristan can do it, but I hope everything goes well."

Davian said it very simply, if it fails once, try again. If it weren't for Lancelot's mission to trade with the mainland, he would have asked Lancelot to try it as well, as it was a necessary mission.

"You are very strict with them in this regard. It is hard for me to imagine that you are the calm and humble Davian who gave such an order."

Arthur started to tease him, but Davian just said that he would not show any mercy in these necessary things. After all, everyone has their own tasks, so what do you want to do if you don't do your job well?

"I've taken care of Morrison to relieve his stress, but he still doesn't want to go out and work properly? We can't let him relax too much~ It's not a good thing for him to always indulge in Isolde's gentleness, right?"

At this point, the three people at the scene burst into laughter. But then Arthur mentioned another thing, that is Mordred.

"Why don't you let him come back? Isn't it time?" Arthur was very worried about the child who was traveling abroad. He knew how much Davidian loved the child and how much he wanted the child to be his heir.

But his previous actions really hurt Davian's heart. This was the first time that Arthur had exiled him since they met. This showed how wrong Mordred had been at that time. Davian could not easily let go of that incident.

"It's not that I don't forgive him, but whether he can truly grow up and become the person I hope he will be. Even Venar doesn't care much about that matter, how can I blame him?

But if he can be so cruel to his compatriots, how can he become a good knight in the future? He can't just fight for my approval."

Davian explained the matter very clearly. Mordred was much less mature than Galahad at that time. It might also be due to the environment in which he grew up. Although they were both raised by their mothers, Galahad was obviously more mature.

The warmth that Davian gave to Mordred made him temporarily go astray, so he had to think calmly and figure out why he was fighting and what the responsibilities on his shoulders were.

After all, he is the son of the Lion, the one Davian hopes will become the future leader of the First Legion.

"Speaking of which, Galahad... he should be qualified to take a seat, what do you think?" Arthur mentioned this again, and Davian fell into deep thought.

Since the creation of the Round Table, only Palamedes has sat at it. Davian thought for a while and then said, "Then let Gareth sit at the table as well. She is now qualified. What do you think?"

Arthur nodded and said that this was good. He had seen Gareth's growth. She was qualified to have a seat at the round table, which was a good thing.

When talking about the location of the round table, Merlin beside her just smiled and said nothing, because these things were already in her plan, and now was the time.

In the midst of understatement, the two men had already secured two seats at the round table. This was a position that other knights envied, but for those who took the seats, this was a responsibility they had to bear in the future.

"Oh, now that I think about it, your First Legion is simply a training base for mid- and high-level officers. Bedivere is responsible for training new recruits, and you are the one responsible for training officers. This is really... No wonder you two have always been good friends."

As for Arthur's linking of these two things, Davian could only say that it was an accident. At first, he didn't think about such a far-fetched thing. He also thought that he didn't need to do so many things and could live a more relaxed life. But now it seems that it has indeed become a distant dream.

When he said this, Arthur's expression became solemn. He couldn't help but say, "Davian, I have no way to repay you for your dedication. The position of Lord of Camelot is just a simple responsibility for you without any benefit. I have always known this, so please accept my gratitude at this moment. This is the only thing I can give you in return."

Davian smiled and told him that he didn't need to do that. He had fought all the way to this point because he wanted to do the right thing. The reason he hadn't run away until now was because what Arthur did seemed to him to be to his liking, and he was not wrong.

"So don't pay too much attention to what those people say. I have always understood. The king's inability to understand human nature is just a sin they impose on you. For you, everything you have done so far is correct."

Hearing this, Arthur first showed a look of surprise, and then his expression became helpless.

"I wanted to comfort you, but you ended up comforting me instead. Lord David, I have no doubt that if it weren't for your devotion, you would have more than just Merlin by your side. Your charm is just too terrifying..."

At this point, Arthur shut up and stopped talking. Merlin was already staring at him, and the horror of his gaze was really hard to describe. It was obvious that if Arthur said anything weird next, Merlin would lose his temper.

"My Davian is not like Lord Kay or Lord Lancelot! He is very loyal and the best man and knight in Britain! Arthur, if you talk nonsense again next time, I will hit you on the head with my staff!"

After Merlin finished speaking, Davian had already laughed and hugged him into his arms, and told her that Arthur was just joking, so why bother? Not to mention that all his love was focused on Merlin, so he would never be unfaithful.

Merlin's face suddenly turned red when Davian held him in his arms so gently yet powerfully.

In Davian's arms, she muttered something about how she knew it ~ but when she heard those words, she couldn't help herself and lost her temper ~ she won't do it again next time ~ Such words stunned Arthur who was standing beside her.

Needless to say, Merlin is very beautiful, but Arthur has never regarded Merlin as a real woman. That's because Merlin's sense of alienation was too obvious when she was educating him.

But now seeing this scene... Arthur understood that it was not that Merlin could not become a real woman, but that he was really too incompetent.

Didn't Davian make Merlin so beautiful? She was now Davian's proud wife and a loving mother in Gareth and Mordred's eyes.

Arthur decided to improve his relationship with Guinevere and make their life more harmonious. He must not let her feel alienated, as that would be his fault.

However, what he didn't know was that at this moment, Guinevere was lying on their bed, staring at the ceiling above with empty eyes. At this moment, her heart... was filled with nothingness.
