HP: Embrace the Darkness

Chapter 905 Extra: Excessive Paranoia

Something was not going right.

For the sixth time, Athis stood at the door of the potion room, staring at the closed door and lost in thought.

He's been having a pretty bad few days.

In a twenty-four hour day, he could only see Snape for less than eight hours.

Those eight hours are still sleep time!

There is nothing he can do.

Well, except for kisses and hugs.

Although the Potions Master did not reject his kisses and hugs, his attitude was much colder than before, and he would sometimes go to the Potions Room to hide from him.

They've only officially been together a week!

Less than a month!

Ases squatted in the corner, carefully reflecting on what he had done recently, but found nothing.

Helplessly, he could only blame it all on the fact that his previous apology had not yet calmed the other party.

"Well, it's really my fault anyway."

Athis stood up, dusted off the dust on his body, straightened his collar, and knocked on the door of the potion room with a fearless attitude.

"Sev, let's talk."

The sound of glass colliding inside suddenly disappeared, but there was no sign of the door opening.

Aces waited a moment.

It was still quiet, as if no one was inside.

He knew it.

Ases rubbed his brows and continued knocking on the door.

"Sev, am I in?"

As he spoke, he grasped the door handle and pretended to open the door.

The door was suddenly pushed open from the inside, causing a whistling sound of wind. Ases calmly took a step back, skillfully dodging the attack from the wooden door.

There were only dim candles lit in the potion room, and shadows were spreading. Aces couldn't see Snape's expression clearly, but he vaguely felt that he seemed to be in a bad mood and his aura was a little aggressive.

Bad mood?

It seems that his apology was not strong enough.

Aces sighed inwardly, took Snape's hand and walked into the potions room, closing the door behind him.

As soon as the door closed, the potion room fell into complete darkness.

Ases noticed that there was only one candle lit inside. In the dim light, he saw that the crucible that should have been emitting steam was silent, the various materials were neatly placed in their original places, and the potion table was even cleaner.

You don’t even have the mood to make potions?

Aces couldn't help but become worried and held Snape's hand tighter and tighter.

"Where else are you going?" Snape shook off the overly hot hand on his wrist, sat down, and lowered his eyes listlessly. "What do you want to talk about?"

"Sev? What's wrong? Are you feeling unwell?"

Ases noticed his unusual behavior, parted his hair, touched his forehead, and only took it away when he didn't feel it was hot.

When the heat source left, Snape subconsciously wanted to move closer, but when he thought of something, he stopped and leaned against the cold chair back.

Ases watched his actions and became more and more confused, "Sif, are you angry with me?"

Snape was silent for a few seconds, "...No, it has nothing to do with you."

Not angry?

Nothing to do with him?

Why doesn't he believe it so much?

"Is it because I stayed up late before? Or is it because I kept so many things from you?"

Since Snape didn't say anything, Aces had to guess one by one, but Snape never had any special reaction, and he couldn't figure out what Snape was thinking for a moment.

At the end of the guessing, Asis was just about to say "I was wrong" to Snape, but Snape still didn't react. He just sat there in a daze with his chin supported.

Ases had no other choice but to suffer: "Sif, you have ignored me recently. I can't eat or sleep well. As soon as I close my eyes, I see the image of you leaving me. Sif, I told you that you have the right to choose. If you don't like being by my side, I won't stop you from leaving--"

The more Snape listened, the tighter his brows frowned. Finally, he seemed to be unable to bear it anymore and interrupted directly: "I never said I was leaving."

Seeing that Snape finally responded, Aces breathed a sigh of relief. It was good enough to have a response, he was afraid of no response.

After a pause, he continued to patiently persuade her: "Is there something you can't tell me?"

"Have."

Snape's unexpected frankness interrupted the words that Athis had prepared.

As a last resort, he forced himself to change his words.

"It doesn't matter if there is. I respect your privacy. If you can't tell me, then you don't have to tell me."

"About...you want to know?" Snape did not play by the rules again.

Ases reacted quickly and changed his words again: "If you want."

In the darkness, the two looked at each other.

"What if..." Snape's fingertips tapped the tabletop rhythmically. A dark light flashed in his dark eyes. His deep gaze wrapped around the man's limbs in the dim environment. "What if I asked you to open up all your memories to me? Would you be willing?"

Ases didn't answer immediately.

Seeing this, Snape's eyes darkened and he turned his head. He was about to explain that he was joking, but Asis opposite him laughed, and his laughter was indescribably relaxed.

"Of course I would. It's my pleasure."

Snape looked up in surprise. Aces leaned down and gently touched his lips. His eyes sparkled in the dark and dazzled the man opposite.

"So you've been avoiding me recently because of this? Why can't you tell me this? I never wanted to hide anything from you. I just had to hide it because of the situation. Now everything is over. You can see it if you want. I'm willing to do so."

"Really?" Snape asked uncertainly.

Ases couldn't help but kiss him again, "When have I ever lied to you?"

Snape relaxed visibly, leaning back against the familiar waist. Aces stroked his hair, looking thoughtful, and suddenly asked, "If it was just a memory, you wouldn't hide from me."

Snape was silent for a long time, but trust finally prevailed. He awkwardly expressed his feelings during this period, "When you leave my sight, I will... want to lock you up."

Ases paused, then understood, "I scared you some time ago, didn't I?"

Snape remained silent, which was considered as his agreement.

"I'm sorry." Aces' heart softened into a pool of water, bubbling. "I was careless and didn't notice your emotions."

"It's none of your business, it's my problem."

Snape shook his head. He was stubborn in some ways. It wasn't Athis's fault, and he was unwilling to blame it on Athis.

Aces smiled and didn't dwell on this question. "I'm a little busy these days... maybe you can try to use the bond to control my location first, and when I'm free later, we can find a place where only we are and give ourselves a vacation. How about that?"

Snape didn't say whether he agreed or not.

But a week later, they spent a month at the Chateau de Ses, where they were the only ones.
