HP: Embrace the Darkness

Chapter 772 A breakfast of great joy and great sorrow

On the day when the savior Harry returned to Hogwarts, Dumbledore came to the Great Hall for the first time.

The little wizards all looked at the unfamiliar yet familiar headmaster. When they saw Snape and Slughorn beside him, the eyes of the well-informed little wizards lit up and they began to spread the news they had heard.

"I heard we are getting an extra professor."

"Yes, that's the one next to Snape. He seems to be the former Head of Slytherin and Potions Professor. Maybe Snape will be fired."

"Merlin, my potion finally saved me."

"Don't use professors as an excuse. If you don't study seriously, no matter how many professors you change, it will be useless."

The auditorium was like a boiling oil pot, and the noise was endless. Voldemort's high excitement because his dream came true suddenly disappeared.

He hates trash, which is both useless and annoying, especially noisy trash.

These losers should be left to die.

The cruel and cold gaze swept across the auditorium.

Everyone felt bone-deep fear, and the auditorium fell silent instantly.

The little wizards cowered their necks in fear, performing what is called a cowering quail for Dumbledore and others. Even Slytherin was not spared, and lowered his head under Voldemort's mental pressure.

Draco lowered his head along with the crowd, but he didn't have much fear. No matter how stupid he was, he knew that Voldemort couldn't do anything with Dumbledore by his side.

At most it's intimidation.

Bluff threats were of no use to him.

Draco curled his lips disdainfully.

On the stage, Professor McGonagall frowned when she saw that her college was being focused on by Voldemort.

Several times he tried to stop Voldemort, but was pulled back by Professor Sprout.

Professor Flitwick stood behind the two of them, standing on tiptoes and smiling reassuringly at the students below.

Although the Ravenclaw students were still afraid, with the presence of their dean, they gained confidence. Slowly, they raised their heads.

Dumbledore broke the silence.

"It seems that our appearance is a bit sudden. Come on, Severus, Horace. Let's sit down and enjoy a hearty breakfast first, and then we can announce your affairs."

Voldemort, who made the auditorium fall into silence with just one look, was very proud of himself and was the first to sit down domineeringly.

Dumbledore ignored him and sat down while chatting and laughing with Horace, and then also beckoned other professors to sit down.

The three Professors McGonagall took their seats, followed closely by the other professors, who took their seats one by one.

Not long after, the teacher's table was filled with professors, and the sounds of the students eating below suddenly became much quieter.

While they were eating, they observed the professor above, especially Slughorn, whom they met for the first time. The number of layers of clothes Slughorn wore was clearly counted by the meddlesome little wizard.

When the meal time was over, Dumbledore reluctantly put down the pumpkin juice and stood up.

Professor McGonagall tapped the silver cup at the right moment.

The crisp sound reached everyone's ears with the blessing of magic power.

"Dang——dang——"

His eyes converged on the teacher's desk.

Dumbledore wore a white wizard robe and a red wizard hat today. When he stood up, he looked like a burning candle, which was particularly eye-catching.

The little wizard studied Dumbledore's new clothes intently, and his fear of Snape dissipated a lot.

Snape stood next to Dumbledore, his black figure like the shadow of a candle, quiet and silent, without any aggression.

"I hope you don't mind taking up a moment of your time." The human-shaped candle said, attracting everyone's attention to him.

Dumbledore said Slughorn's name with a smile on his face. Slughorn immediately stood up and waved kindly to the little wizards.

At the same time, Dumbledore announced loudly: "Professor Slughorn will take over the Potions class in the future. Everyone welcomes Professor Slughorn."

After speaking, he took the lead in applauding.

The calm was broken, like a drop of water falling into a pan of oil. Warm applause sounded in the auditorium, mixed with jubilant cheers.

Voldemort, who felt he was being discriminated against, curled his lips coldly, glared maliciously at the little wizards who shouted the loudest, and forced them to shut up with his eyes.

The little wizards shut their mouths as expected, but they couldn't hide the gloating and happiness in their eyes.

Dumbledore went on to make a second announcement.

"In addition, Professor Snape, who used to be the Potions Professor, will take over the position of Defense Against the Dark Arts professor this semester and will co-teach Defense Against the Dark Arts with Professor Bagshot. I would like to thank them for their efforts for Hogwarts. Please support me. They applauded."

One second the little wizards were happy that they didn't have to suffer torture in Potions class, and the next second they felt like they were in hell, looking at Voldemort in despair.

Facing the looks of fear and disgust from all directions, Voldemort accepted them all calmly.

In his opinion, fear is the best recognition for him, even if he is now using Snape's body.

Seeing the silence, Dumbledore once again took the lead in applauding, but this time not many people gave a positive reaction.

There were boos and boos at the Gryffindor table, but the Ravenclaw students remained silent.

The warm little badgers looked at each other, not wanting Snape to fall into too embarrassing a situation, so they raised their hands and clapped. The sparse applause inspired individual little eaglets to also applaud.

Slytherin was the happiest of the four houses. He clapped his hands, tapped his cup, and tried his best to give his dean a decent appearance.

What they were thinking was: Snape's obsession with being the Defense Against the Dark Arts professor was completed, so he should be happy anyway, right? Are you going to take it out on them?

During this period, the person who suffered the most harm from Voldemort besides Gryffindor was Slytherin.

They were too close. Snape was still the head of Slytherin. Even if other professors wanted to help, there was nothing they could do. Dumbledore had to step in and use heavy work to occupy Voldemort's time to find trouble. Only then did Slyter Lins have breathing room.

It can be said that the place Dumbledore visited the most during this period was the Slytherin lounge. Every time he appeared, he received rare friendly looks from the snakes and the anger that was about to burst out from Voldemort.

Over time, as soon as Voldemort saw Dumbledore, he remembered the work that was coming one after another. He was not very willing to see Dumbledore and always walked around him.

Professor McGonagall held the spoon in her hand and looked down at Gryffindor who expressed her dissatisfaction directly, feeling a little worried in her heart.

Voldemort's oppression, prejudice, and deductions were more powerful than Snape's, which had made many students increasingly dissatisfied. She was worried that one day Snape would come back and have to accept the consequences left by Voldemort.

The consequences should not be borne by Severus, who knew nothing.

The stern witch is as fair as ever.
