HP: Embrace the Darkness

Chapter 72 Malfoy Manor (Part )

His father had something to do at the Ministry of Magic today and couldn't entertain them.

And his mother went to have tea with other noble ladies and had no time to entertain them.

After explaining, Draco still had a straight face and solemnly apologized for his parents' rudeness.

Aces narrowed his eyes slightly. Is it really such a coincidence?

Looking at Draco who was in high spirits in front of him, Aces didn't say anything after all. He just told Draco that he didn't mind.

Draco happily walked in front with the little Golden Snitch, and Aces and Carter followed him side by side.

Aces gave Carter a look, and Carter understood and stepped forward to chat with Draco about Quidditch.

Aces walked behind, quietly touched his pocket, and turned on the alchemy tool inside to detect the smell of black magic.

Since detecting Horcruxes is not possible, then detecting black magic can be done.

Aces calculated secretly.

Afterwards, he wandered around curiously. The two people in front of him were chatting enthusiastically and did not pay attention to his behavior.

But Asseth knew that as long as he was in the manor, his actions were definitely being monitored.

After walking around the manor for a long time, Draco was a little tired. He stopped chatting with Carter and looked back at Artes.

"I'm tired, let's take a rest first?"

Aces had no objection, so the group returned to the living room.

In the living room, the elf was pouring tea for them, and Draco was still chattering about Quidditch.

"Draco? Is there anything fun at your house?"

Carter suddenly asked.

Draco, who was still talking, suddenly got stuck. He stared at Carter for a long time and then said in confusion.

"Does it count if I have a Quidditch pitch?"

Now it's Carter's turn to get stuck. Quidditch pitch? At home?

Looking into Draco's ignorant eyes, Carter was speechless. It was because he had little knowledge.

Just as several people were looking at each other, footsteps came from the door.

Aces looked up at the door, and a well-dressed man who looked exactly like Draco walked in.

It's Lucius.

Aces was the first to react, stood up, and greeted Lucius with a slight nod.

"Mr. Malfoy, I'm sorry to bother you today. Thank you to the Malfoy family for the hospitality."

Carter followed closely and stood up to salute Lucius.

Lucius walked into the living room in a dusty state, glanced at the two of them, paused at Asseth, and took a deep look at him.

Then he returned the greetings to Asseth and Carter respectively.

"Welcome, I hope you won't be disappointed today."

"Mr. Malfoy is worrying too much."

After a brief exchange of greetings, Lucius left the living room and gave up the space to a few children.

Aces waited until Lucius had completely left before looking at Carter.

Carter understood and led Draco to the Quidditch pitch.

Aces did not move, but waited for them to go away before getting up and following Lucius in the direction he left.

When I came to the study, as expected, the door of the study was slightly open, as if waiting for the arrival of guests.

Aces stood at the door, straightened his clothes, and after making sure he was not rude in any way, he raised his hand and knocked on the door.

"Please come in."

There were sounds from inside the house, and Asseth opened the door and walked in calmly.

His fingers quietly touched his pocket and turned off the tool that detects black magic.

Merlin, how many dark magic tools were placed in Lucius's study? It burned him to the point of pain.

Lucius sat on the sofa, looked at Asseth who walked in slowly, and nodded secretly.

"Master Malfoy."

Aces touched his chest and bowed slightly, then stood up straight and looked at Lucius for a moment.

"I don't know what kind of thing it is. Why would the head of the Malfoy family try so hard to find me, a nobody?"

Lucius was stunned for a moment by the exact same tone as Snape.

He looked at Asseth in confusion, but did not explain immediately. Instead, he made a gesture to sit down and chat.

Aces hesitated for a moment, then sat down on the sofa opposite, waiting silently for Lucius's explanation.

"This is just a father's love for his child. I believe Duke Cavendish can relate to me..."

Lucius knew that the child in front of him was not easy to fool, so instead of being secretive, it was better to be honest with him.

Seeing that the warmth in Lucius's eyes didn't seem to be fake, Artes was thoughtful.

His eyes unconsciously looked around the study, and when he saw the bookshelf next to the fireplace, some scattered fragments suddenly flashed in his eyes.

Um? This is.

Aces looked away calmly, his eyes slightly lowered to cover his eyes.

Lucius was still explaining that he had no bad intentions and was just doing it for Draco.

Aces did not interrupt him, but waited seriously for him to finish.

After finally expressing his emotions in a long speech, Lucius took a breath inaudibly.

Then he quietly looked at Asseth opposite, trying to find a hint of movement on his face.

But Asseth kept looking at him with a smile, and it was hard to tell what he was thinking.

Lucius was a little frustrated that his rare heartfelt words were not appreciated.

Aces waited until he finished looking at it before curiously pointing to the books on the bookshelf and asking.

"Mr. Malfoy, I see there is a book on your bookshelf that I have been looking for for a long time. Can I have a look?"

Lucius's eyes lit up slightly, and he was worrying about how to get involved.

Without hesitation, Lucius agreed.

After receiving permission, Asseth stood up, walked to the bookshelf, and pulled out a book.

He didn't lie. There was indeed a book on the bookshelf that he had been looking for for a long time and was interested in. It was about curses.

Asseth took the book, flipped through a few pages at random, and wrote down the general contents.

He was still chatting with Lucius, and Lucius knew almost everything about Asseth's questions.

While chatting, Asseth seemed to have no intention of bringing the topic to the books on the bookshelf.

"Mr. Malfoy, what is this?"

Aces asked, pointing to a yellowed notebook on the bookshelf.

Lucius's voice stopped suddenly, and the study became quiet.

Aces turned his back to Lucius and could not see Lucius's expression.

But his sudden calmness told him that he, Lucius, knew that this notebook was not simple.

Thinking of the notebook that had just been prophesied to cause panic in Hogwarts, Artes sneered silently.

What a selfish Malfoy. He couldn't throw such a dark magic item into Hogwarts.

Asseth put away the expression on his face, turned around and continued to curiously ask about the origin of the notebook.

"Mr. Malfoy, is this your notebook from school? Can I see it?"

Lucius's lips moved, and after hesitating for a while, he agreed to Asseth's request.

Asseth picked up the notebook and felt the breath of the Horcrux before he even opened it.
