HP: Embrace the Darkness

Chapter 699 Surprise in the letter

The first letter was an invitation from the Dean of St. Mungo's to come and solicit donations.

Recently, Voldemort spared no effort to provide St. Mungo's with seriously injured patients. St. Mungo's funds were flowing out of half the budget for half a year, and they had to cast a wide net to find donations from wizarding families. Cavendi seemed to be very rich. Xu is also among their targets.

If we put it another way, Artes might have agreed. Anyway, he himself is not short of galleons, not to mention that he has the most profitable Mueller family behind him.

But getting to visit St. Mungo's?

Too much trouble.

Asses thought for a while and wrote a letter to decline the invitation to visit, but he donated a few galleons just in time.

This way neither side looks ugly.

The first letter barely had a good beginning, and Asseth's movements when picking up the second letter were less heavy.

The second letter was a letter of congratulations and invitation from the Alchemy Association.

The letter began by congratulating Arthur on his successful election as a member of the International Association of Wizards, then casually mentioned that his mother had become a member of the International Alchemy Association at his age, and finally invited him to visit and take assessments at the association.

Another invitation?

Asses had a headache, but his movements were not slow at all. He declined to delay to buy himself two years.

The next letter was an unshakable greeting from the president of the International Potions Association.

Ever since Artes invested a hundred thousand gold galleons, the powerful president of the Potions Association seemed to have got through some nerves. He wrote a letter every day asking for help. His words were artificial and his tone was gentle and considerate. burly chap.

"Well written, don't write it next time."

Asseth tiredly picked up his pen and wrote back.

The next letter didn't have the owner's mark on the outside, but since Joel would let it appear in the study, it meant that the owner of the letter, Artes, knew him, so he opened it directly without looking at it carefully.

The first word at the beginning of the letter is son.

A letter from mother?

Asseth's eyes lit up and he couldn't wait to read back. The first half of the letter was filled with concern, from concern for food, clothing, housing and transportation to love life, it was very detailed.

The handwriting at the back became sloppy. It must have been written by someone else. Asseth probably glanced at it to explain why he didn't go back.

Not much, just one sentence:

The day before she came back, Anna felt uncomfortable and went for a check-up and found out she was pregnant. Because Anna insisted that you be the first to know, she remembered to tell others for us, including grandparents and grandparents.

Oh, pregnant.

No wonder he didn't come back.

Asseth nodded, understanding.

His eyes then slid down and he saw a line of small words, signed "I still love your mother the most": You are going to be a brother, Asseth.

elder brother?

Wasn't he already Draco's brother?

Asseth smiled nonchalantly and was about to reply when his whole body suddenly froze.

Wait, pregnant?

Who is pregnant?

He looked at the front of the reply in disbelief.

The pupils suddenly dilated due to surprise, clearly reflecting the news of Anna's pregnancy.

hiss!

Artes stood up with a snap and ran towards the fireplace in a hurry. Halfway there, he remembered that Snape was not in the cellar, but in Spider End Alley, which was out of reach of the fireplace. He still needed some time to calm down.

Although regretful, he immediately changed his direction and went after Joel, who was trying to settle the score with Susanna.

Joel looked very agitated, but he actually didn't go very far. Asseth saw his back after several disembodiments and quickly chased after him, leaving several confusion spells and soundproofing spells on his hands along the way.

"Grandpa Joel, wait, don't go to your cousin yet. My mother, your Princess Anna, wrote a letter saying that she is pregnant."

Joel braked suddenly, turned around in disbelief, and grabbed Ass's shoulder with his backhand.

"What did you say? Say it again."

"My mother is pregnant."

Ace repeated every word.

Joel's lips trembled, and it took him a long time to squeeze out an "ok", but Artes across from him could clearly see his moist eyes and worried eyes.

Asses calmed down and thought about the many pains of giving birth. His smile gradually disappeared and turned into a worry similar to Joel's.

The two men looked at each other in silence for a moment.

Joel took out a cigarette from his pocket, put it in his mouth, lit it, and slowly puffed out a circle.

"This is a good thing. It is not as difficult for wizards to give birth to children as you know. Don't worry, young master."

Ases didn't smoke, so he took out a candy and stuffed it into his mouth. He used the sweetness to relax his nerves and said worriedly: "But giving birth will be painful, right?"

Joel nodded blankly and shook his head uncertainly.

"I heard that some will hurt and some won't. I don't know which one Anna has. When she gave birth to you, Mr. Mueller was still fighting, and I missed it too. Maybe it would be better to ask your father about this question."

Aces bit into the candy and continued to worry.

"My mother said she wanted to go back here... to wait for childbirth. It should be called waiting for childbirth, but there is so much chaos here. Wouldn't it be good for the mother and the child?"

Joel also became worried.

"How about killing Voldemort now?"

"Not yet, I still need Voldemort alive, at least for another four or five months."

Aces stuffed candy into his mouth distractedly. He finally understood why Dumbledore liked candy. Desserts can indeed relieve anxiety sometimes.

Joel said he didn't ask what Ases was going to do, so he just nodded and warned: "Pregnant people have greater mood swings and are more susceptible to external interference. Master, you have to pay attention to your safety and don't be scared. To your mother."

"This...I'll try my best." Artes turned the ring on his hand and sighed, "Voldemort's recent madness doesn't seem to be easy to end. How about we write a letter to persuade him? At least wait until a month later before coming back."

"Sooner rather than later, let's go back and write now!"

Joel completely forgot about Susanna, who was about to fly away, and apparated back to Cavendish Manor with Artes, and he started writing one letter after another.

It was getting late, and the lights in the study were turned on.

Susanna's face was touched when she came back from lunch and saw the lights. Is this what it feels like when someone is waiting at home? It’s really, really great!

Her footsteps became cheerful, and she ran to the study door in three steps and two steps at a time, and happily opened the door.

"I'm back! Did you miss me?"

Joel, who was working hard, gave a perfunctory "hmm" and never stopped writing. His hands were filled with torn letters.

Susanna walked over curiously, "Uncle Joel, what are you writing?"

"Letter to Anna, she's pregnant."

"What! Why didn't I know that my sister was pregnant!? That little brat William refused to tell me? Was he afraid that I would snatch my sister away?"

Susanna knocked on the table, and the solid wood desk made an unbearable creaking sound. Joel had a premonition that something bad was going to happen and hurriedly took away the letter he had not finished writing.

Then, the desk...collapsed.
