HP: Embrace the Darkness

Chapter 406 Karkaroff’s Anxiety

Karkaroff and Dumbledore finished their last battle and returned to their seats. A disembodied pain spread from his left arm along with anxiety and uneasiness.

After hesitating for a long time, fear finally prevailed, and he stood up and walked towards Snape.

"Severus, we need to talk."

Before the show was over, Snape was a little impatient and said, "Say it here."

"It's not convenient here. You know what I'm going to say. Let's talk somewhere else."

As Karkaroff spoke, he looked around anxiously, as if someone would jump out of a corner and attack him, like a frightened bird.

Snape finally looked up at him.

"Just outside in the corridor." Karkaroff saw him looking over and quickly added.

Snape nodded in agreement.

Karkaroff loosened his tension slightly and walked quickly outside.

"Sev?"

It's a message from Asseth.

Snape shook his head imperceptibly, "No need to follow me, it should be because of the Dark Lord."

Snape didn't give a more detailed guess.

He also has the Mark of the Dark Demon on his body. During this period, the Mark of the Dark Demon became clearer and clearer, and there was burning heat from time to time. This was what Karkaroff should tell him when he came to him.

Although Asseth was already involved, he still didn't want that ugly mark to be seen by him.

"it is good."

After watching Snape leave, Artes looked at the figure he had just found - Wendy.

Wendy has no interest in dancing now, and she only stays here to accompany her roommate.

Suddenly, a voice appeared in her head.

"Miss Croney, can you come out for a moment?"

Wendy was frightened, and the glass in her hand slipped and fell to the ground.

Just when the glass was about to touch the ground, invisible energy lifted it up and returned it to Wendy's hand.

"Be careful."

The voice in my head was a little helpless.

He didn't want to attract other people's attention, especially Dumbledore and Grindelwald. One liked to watch the fun, and the other didn't mind it.

Staring at the lost cup in her hand, the reflection of the glass vaguely reflected the girl's blank expression.

After a while, Wendy suddenly smiled.

She took the cup and followed the voice's instructions to a secluded window sill.

There was already a person standing on the window sill, with his back to her and his eyes downstairs. From her perspective, that person's eyes were full of tenderness.

Wendy walked to the window sill but did not look down.

"Professor Cavendish, if my guess is correct, are you looking at Professor Snape?"

Asseth didn't answer, still looking downstairs.

Wendy didn't even think about asking for his answer, so she continued speaking in a very low voice.

"You come to me to explain that my idea is correct. The person who can make you look at me so tenderly is Professor Snape."

The following chat was about something unpleasant. Snape threw off his robe and left, leaving Karkaroff in a daze and clutching his left arm.

"You are very smart." Asseth looked away and looked politely into Wendy's eyes. "Basically, your guess was correct, but you made a mistake."

"You shouldn't just come to someone else's appointment, especially if that person is stronger than you."

Wendy was stunned for a moment, then smiled bitterly.

"I think I fairly understand the character of the alchemy professor who taught me for almost a year, and I also like him. Isn't it normal to not be wary?"

Artes did not comment on her quibbling words. If any Slytherin received his invitation today in Wendy's situation, they would not go to the appointment.

"So will you hurt me?" Wendy asked, her voice still low.

"You can speak normally. I have placed a magic spell nearby. As for whether I will hurt you..."

Aces' tone became gentle again, no different from when he was in class.

"You haven't stepped on my bottom line, so no, I came to you just because of your speculation."

"Bottom line...is it Professor Snape?"

"Yes."

Aces answered quickly. Anyway, this part of Wendy's memory will be erased by him in the end.

Girls are more sensitive to emotions than boys.

For example, now, Wendy could clearly feel that Ass's tone was completely different when he answered this sentence and when he answered her related questions.

"Okay, even though I've guessed it, I'm still a little discouraged. I lost my first crush."

Wendy had just drank a little wine in the auditorium, not much, but under the fermentation of emotion, the alcohol was completely over her head, and she felt drunk.

The grief and anger of being rejected mercilessly one after another and the fear of being intimidated by the eyes burst out.

"I thought about 10,000 possibilities of pursuing failure, but I didn't expect you to like men. From this point of view, it's not my problem, it's your problem."

She managed to retain some sense and did not say anything inappropriate.

Asseth really didn't know what to do with this little girl's emotional venting, so he simply remained silent.

But he had no objection to her other words, except for one thing he wanted to correct.

"I don't like men, I just like him."

Growing up, he had never had any feelings for men beyond being friends, with the only exception being Snape.

Even the thought of holding other men made him feel sick.

So he doesn't like men.

Wendy said quietly: "If you say this, it will make me have the illusion that Professor Snape is not a man."

"Don't talk nonsense! I didn't mean it."

When Aces heard Wendy's words, his back felt cold, and he hurriedly gave a cold warning.

"I know you don't mean it..." Wendy forced a smile, "Are you looking for me to warn me not to tell anyone?"

"Yes and no, I won't let this get out, but the warning may not be enough."

When Wendy heard this, her expression turned bitter.

"You don't believe I won't tell?"

"No, I know you won't say it, otherwise you wouldn't be so quiet."

Assel paused.

"Do you know Legilimency? I don't need you to tell me. As long as I look at you, I can use Legilimency to access all your memories."

Wendy's expression became a little better, at least she didn't suspect that she was deliberately exposed.

"Is it important?"

"Very important."

If possible, Asseth wouldn't want to violate the school rules and forget about a student, but there was no way, Wendy guessed it.

"It's very important, okay."

Wendy knew that even if she refused, it would be useless. Instead of making such an ugly scene, it would be better to leave a good impression on Asseth in the end. She was the one who disturbed him before.

Different from the misconception that Artes had due to his refusal to admit defeat, Wendy liked him.

Sometimes there is no reason for the heartbeat, maybe it is just because the sun is just right and the breeze is blowing. The person standing in the light smiles unintentionally, with picturesque eyebrows and smiles, and the sunshine and breeze are reduced to foils.

Now she can only be grateful that she is not in too deep and will not be too sad.
