HP: Embrace the Darkness
Chapter 399 Warning and Gift
After barely apologizing, Draco stared at Wendy warily, and if it wasn't for the fact that Artes was taller than him, he would have even wanted to block Asses from behind.
He didn't care about his identity and wanted to rob his brother.
After Draco finished speaking, Artes took a serious look at Wendy for the first time - this Gryffindor who had been frequently making a presence in front of him recently.
Before that, he only knew that there was such a person in his class and Gryffindor.
"Miss Croni." He said suddenly and raised his chin towards the corner not far away, "Follow me."
After saying that, he turned around first.
"elder brother!"
Draco's eyes widened in disbelief, and he was about to follow him, but was froze in place by a look from Aces, and could only stare at Wendy unconvinced.
Wendy didn't have the intention to pay attention to him. She clenched her clothes as if to cheer up, and then followed Artes to the corner.
Standing at the corner, Asseth glanced at the environment.
Although get out of class had just ended, there was no one here, only shadows.
"Professor, you..."
"Miss Croney."
Ace interrupted Wendy.
His position was further inside, and almost his whole body was hidden in the shadow. Wendy couldn't see his face clearly.
"You don't seem to understand what I mean."
The calm voice echoed between the two of them. There was obviously no ups and downs, but Wendy could hear a little impatience for no reason.
She thought she heard wrongly.
She had never seen him look impatient for so long as he had been a professor.
No matter how simple the mistakes made in class, no matter how many times they were made, they would just have to do it again, and even the smile would never disappear.
But now she was suddenly unsure.
"In consideration of the presence of others, I didn't say anything too harsh."
"There's no one else here right now, and I'm clearly warning you not to waste your time on me."
"But if you don't try it, how do you know it's a waste of time? What if-"
"Nothing unexpected."
Aces's voice was a little colder. He rarely needed to speak so clearly.
"It only takes three. I hope this is the last time, otherwise I don't mind using other means."
Aces dropped the last sentence, no longer paying attention to Wendy, and had a clear goal of taking away Draco who was eavesdropping.
"Let's go. Your godmother sent me the Christmas gift and dress for you and asked me to give them to you."
Draco finally knew why Asses turned back just now.
He said it couldn't be because of that Gryffindor, but it turned out to be because of the gift given to him.
Gift?
A gift from your godmother?
Draco suddenly realized what Aces had said. The latter was looking at him with a half-smile, his eyebrows narrowed.
There was no need for anyone to shout now, Draco walked quickly to the front.
He didn't forget to turn around and urge Asseth to move faster.
Watching their figures leaving one after another, Wendy was in a daze for a moment.
If there was no comparison, the impatience in Asseth's tone just now would not have been so obvious. Now that there is a comparison, the difference can be noticed.
But such unique differential treatment is far more attractive than the gentleness of treating everyone equally.
……
The corridor leading to the basement was quiet and long. The calm was quickly broken by two figures. To be precise, the one who broke the calm was the slightly shorter man.
The man had a platinum-blond head and couldn't stop chattering. He was chattering around the other man like a sparrow, and all kinds of questions came one after another.
Everyone around him responded to every word.
"Brother, what gift did your godmother give you?"
"You'll see for yourself later."
"Then what gift did you give me?"
"Put it together there and see for yourself."
"Brother, do you have someone you like?" Draco suddenly inserted a test into his usual words.
Asses paused imperceptibly, missing his temptation and instead couldn't help but laugh.
"Is this why you asked so many questions along the way?"
Draco was a little regretful, but not surprised.
If he had tricked him so easily, Asses would no longer be his brother.
Just call him brother.
"Yes, so there is?"
Asses said nothing, looking at the end of the corridor quietly, and after a long while he nodded lightly.
Draco answered naturally, "I knew you didn't—"
"Wait, you do!?"
As he said this, he suddenly realized that Asseth was nodding, not denying as he imagined.
"How come I don't know! I didn't attend the engagement party either. Didn't you invite me?"
Draco's voice gradually got louder.
"You didn't invite me!"
These purebloods will basically make an engagement around fifth grade, and some will hold engagement parties so that they can get married directly after graduation.
Now hearing Artes' confirmation, Draco subconsciously thought that Artes was engaged.
"What are you thinking about? If I get engaged, will you not know, and your father will not know?"
Aces looked at Draco with a funny look.
"Or do you think I won't invite you?"
"That's good."
Draco breathed a sigh of relief, as Frizzy's round eyes were filled with curiosity.
"But that's not right. Why aren't you engaged yet?"
"What? You want to go to the party?"
Aces did not directly answer the question of engagement and casually diverted Draco's attention.
But this time Draco was very persistent, "Who wants to go to the party? I mean the engagement party."
Sure enough, he has grown up and is not easy to fool. Asseth suppressed a smile and thought about how to answer this question.
"Now is not the right time."
"What's inappropriate? Isn't it easy to get engaged? Or does the godmother not agree? She is not a pure blood?"
This was the most difficult gap Draco could think of to cross.
Aces looked at Draco deeply, his eyes complicated and difficult to distinguish.
For the first time, he felt that Draco was so well protected by them that it would be an understatement to say he was ignorant of the world.
But that's not bad either.
If you have the capital and confidence, why should you wrong yourself and just be the proud and wanton young master of Malfoy and Cavendish forever?
After all, they are still there.
Draco didn't understand the look in Asseth's eyes, but he knew he was wrong.
"Is that because her family is unwilling? It shouldn't be? Are you blind?"
Draco silently counted the advantages he had taken advantage of in Aces over the years and muttered unconvinced.
Aces scolded with a smile, "If you can't speak, don't speak. Just go and open your gifts quietly."
While the two were chatting, they had already reached their destination.
Draco looked up and saw that the door in front of him was suddenly stuck, and he blinked suspiciously.
The second time I saw it was the same door.
"No, brother, are you going to the wrong place? This is the cellar! It's the dean's office. Your office is next to it, next to it!"
"You're right, go in, your gift is inside." Asses nodded to Miss Medusa at the door as a greeting.
Miss Medusa spit out the message and opened the door.
