HP: Embrace the Darkness

Chapter 37 The End of Confinement

Snape was curious as to what was written in the letter.

This was the first time he saw this calm old man showing such an expression.

"You go back first, Severus. I may be away from school a lot during this period, so I'll leave the child's affairs to you."

After Dumbledore finished speaking, before Snape could reply, he summoned the phoenix and disappeared.

Snape was originally angry at Dumbledore for leaving this mess on him.

Although he did promise to keep an eye on the giant monster before, this was not the reason for his inaction.

But seeing Dumbledore leaving impatiently, he didn't even have time to wait for him to leave the principal's office.

He was a little worried.

The one who could make Dumbledore like this couldn't be Potter, that troll.

Snape quickly dismissed the idea.

If it had been Potter, it wouldn't have been an owl delivering the message, and Dumbledore wouldn't have left him alone.

What could that be?

Snape returned to the dungeons, still pondering the question.

When Asseth came to the cellar, he saw that Snape seemed to be in a daze.

For the first time, I saw Snape not revising papers or making potions, but thinking about something.

Aces is a bit of a novelty.

So what was he thinking, was it Dumbledore?

Aces thought of Dumbledore's abnormality and probably guessed it.

He did not disturb Snape, but walked to the workbench beside him in a familiar manner.

He skillfully transformed himself into work clothes similar to a Muggle apron, put on his dragonhide gloves, and began to process the potion materials.

The movements are so skillful that it makes people feel distressed.

During this period of confinement, he managed almost all of Snape's potion material processing.

When Snape came to his senses, Asseth had already processed half of the materials, and his processing speed was always very fast.

Snape walked over and checked, seeing that the materials were handled cleanly and completely, he didn't say anything.

I turned around and went back to my desk to correct my paper.

Neither Aces nor Snape are talkative people. When they are serious, they don't pay attention to the outside world, let alone chat.

No one spoke in the cellar, but it didn't seem deserted. The sounds of processing materials and the sounds of correcting papers were intertwined, giving it a faint warmth.

After Asseth finished his work, he wiped the workbench clean.

Snape didn't like others using wands in his cellar, so except for the transformation spell at the beginning, he even cleaned it himself.

The pampered young master has adapted well to this aspect.

Aces looked up at Snape. He was still correcting the paper, and frowned from time to time. It seemed that he had made some random papers.

Aces actually likes confinement. When he repeatedly processes materials, he feels an indescribable spiritual tranquility, and that kind of spiritual tranquility often allows him to have sudden inspiration.

Feeling Arthur's gaze, Snape took out part of the paper without raising his head.

"Come here and correct the paper."

Aces is quite qualified as a coolie. He rarely raises questions and usually just follows the instructions.

Snape was quite satisfied with this, he hated people who had too many questions.

Asseth conjured up a quill and started correcting the paper.

It has to be said that some papers are far more outrageous than he imagined.

For example, this is to verify whether the potion can be brewed through cooking.

The little wizard should be lucky that he was the one who changed this paper and not Professor Snape.

Otherwise, he will be thrown into the crucible to see if he can cook the potion by himself.

Unqualified, nonsense, next one.

Artes revised papers much faster than Snape, because he usually didn't spend time writing sarcasm.

After changing it, he looked up at Snape again.

Snape was correcting the fifth and seventh grade papers, so he corrected them very seriously and had a serious expression on his face.

His brows furrowed slightly and his lips pursed tightly.

Aces had learned microexpressions in Muggle psychology courses and knew that pursed lips were a sign of self-inhibition or dissatisfaction.

It seems that the paper made the professor very angry. Asses's rambling thinking.

"Have you seen enough?"

Snape asked, caught off guard.

"Huh? Oh? Sorry, Professor."

It seems that admitting mistakes in front of Snape has become a habit, Artes said subconsciously.

When the words came out, Asseth himself was stunned. Merlin? Why am I so skilled?

He froze in place.

Snape raised his head and glanced at him, seeming to think that Arthur was a little funny.

The corners of his mouth were raised slightly, forming a smile that wasn't really a smile. The smile was so shallow that you couldn't even see it if you weren't paying attention.

But Artes had been looking at Snape since just now, so he saw this fleeting smile.

This must be the first time he has seen the professor smile since he met him, Artes thought a little absent-mindedly.

"Professor, you look so pretty when you smile, why don't you smile more."

Involuntarily, Asses blurted out.

Upon hearing this, the smile on Snape's lips disappeared and was replaced by a cold look.

No, Asseth immediately realized that these words went too far.

This is not what a moderate Slytherin should say.

"Mr. Cavendish."

Snape had just begun to speak when he was interrupted by Artes.

"I know, professor, don't be so self-righteous as to interfere in a professor's private affairs."

Artes said in a low voice, imitating Snape's tone.

This was not something he usually did, but he wanted to see that smile again.

Unfortunately, this joke is not funny at all.

Not only was Snape not amused by this cold humor, but he looked at Artes with an idiotic look on his face, his eyes full of contempt.

The despised Assasi shut his mouth.

Merlin, did I lose my mind just now?

The atmosphere gradually became awkward, and Asseth couldn't bear to look at himself just now, so he quickly changed the topic.

"Professor, I've changed it. Can I leave first?"

Snape looked away and continued to revise his paper.

"You can go, you don't have to come tomorrow."

"Don't want to come?"

Could it be that the professor thought he was too stupid just now, so he didn't let him come?

Aces felt a sense of abandonment in his heart.

"Professor, I will definitely not imitate you next time."

"Do not be angry."

"Mr. Cavendish, have you fed your brain to a troll today?"

"Today is the last day of lockdown."

Snape said unbearably.

So quickly, Asseth realized that the confinement was over.

He was a little reluctant to give up.

Asses lingered at the cellar door as he left the cellar.

I was debating whether I should make a mistake and have fun in confinement.

Forget it, the professor would definitely be angry again if he knew that he made a mistake deliberately just for the sake of confinement.

It doesn't matter, who said he can't come to the cellar without being put in solitary confinement, and the school rules don't prohibit him from coming to the cellar.

Aces had a small calculation in his mind.
