HP: Embrace the Darkness

Chapter 175 Gathering at the Manor

The three of them dressed up and went out to the place decided by Lucius.

It was a small manor under Malfoy's name.

As soon as they arrived, they were spotted by Draco who was waiting outside.

"Aces!"

He happily rushed towards Artes, and when he was about to pounce in, he saw the Duke and Anna beside Artes.

The little cannonball stopped instantly and looked at Anna and the Duke cautiously.

"Good day, Duke of Devonshire."

"Good day, Mrs. Cavendish."

The broken hair that was scattered while running fell on his ears, fluffy and dazzling like a shining little sun.

Seeing the cute little peacock saying hello, Anna instantly felt like she was being hit in the heart.

So cute, help.

It's the kid she likes.

Anna raised a gentle smile, squatted down and looked at Draco, "Are you my future godson? Can I call you Draco?"

Anna's gentle gaze made Draco so nervous that he almost bit his tongue. He stammered, "Of course, Duke...Duchess."

"Don't be so unfamiliar. Just call me godmother. It will be a matter of time anyway."

"Teacher...godmother."

Anna wanted to laugh a little, but considering Draco who was so nervous that he looked at Artes frequently, she held back.

"Don't be nervous. Speak slowly. Do I look scary?"

As she said that, she rubbed Draco's head soothingly, using a comforting method similar to that of Artes to help Draco relax.

"no!"

"Godfather, godmother, I was rude."

Draco, who had regained his composure, was like a little prince, reserved and elegant.

"Well done, Draco."

Seeing that he did a good job, Anna habitually praised him.

Draco, who was praised, looked at Anna with bright eyes, and his godmother praised him.

Anna couldn't resist his gaze and pulled him into a caring chat, while Draco answered her questions obediently.

In front of his elders, especially the elders he likes, Draco will usually put away all his temper and be extremely well-behaved. No one can dislike Draco like this.

Anna is no exception.

Aces and the Duke seemed to be forgotten, standing aside and watching Draco and Anna interact.

The Duke's sharp eyes pierced Asses.

Is this the godson you found for us? Isn't it enough that you dominate your mother's sight?

Aces was absent-minded and kept looking inward. Feeling the Duke's eyes, he glanced back at him casually.

Isn't this great?

Then he looked inside again, with doubtful eyes.

Where is the professor? Why didn't you see anyone? Did he guess wrong? The witness is not a professor? Shouldn't it? That handwriting sounds like a professor?

Thoughts were running through his mind, and he didn't even notice the Duke next to him glaring at him.

The neglected Duke finally couldn't bear it any longer and lowered his voice and yelled angrily in Artes's ear, "Artes Cavendish! Have you been wandering lately!"

Although he has always been the lowest-status member of the family, he has never been wronged as much as during this period.

And all of this was brought to him by Asseth!

Thinking of this, his eyes flashed with anger and he stared at Asseth.

Asses came back to his senses and quickly reached out and patted his angry father, "It's not floating, it's not floating. I was just thinking about something. Let's go in first, and I'll call my mother."

The Duke gave a loud "hum" and raised his head towards Anna.

Aces had no choice but to step forward and interrupt Anna and Draco, "Mom, should we go in first?"

"Yes, let's go in first. Come on, Xiaolong, follow me."

Anna put her arm around Draco's shoulders and led him inside. The Duke and Ass were left behind and could only look at each other and followed.

In the manor, Lucius, Narcissa and Snape were talking about something. When they saw the four people approaching, they immediately stopped talking.

"It's an honor to meet you, Mr. Cavendish."

Lucius took the lead to greet him and greeted the Duke. The Duke also changed his anger towards Asseth just now and greeted Lucius with a smile.

"Just call me William. You're welcome Mr. Malfoy."

The two of them wore the same fake smile, as if they had hit it off immediately.

Narcissa followed Lucius closely, greeted a few people, and then praised Anna's dress.

The common topic made the two equally noble and beautiful women start chatting, talking about everything from clothes to children. Draco obediently stood beside his mother to keep him company.

There was chatter all of a sudden, and in a fancy aristocratic accent, Artes walked straight towards Snape who was sitting on the sofa.

"It turns out that the professor was really the witness."

"I thought that with Mr. Asseth's cleverness, he wouldn't doubt this."

"I can't help it. The professor hasn't replied, and I'm not sure whether my little cleverness is correct."

Artes sat down on the sofa near Snape and looked at him seriously.

"Why should the professor be a witness?"

Snape raised his hand and threw a piece of parchment over, and Artes hurriedly caught it, "This is it?"

"Of course...the answers to your questions that make me wonder whether you have studied potions seriously."

In one sentence, it was the long and convoluted yin and yang of the Potions Master.

Aces was keenly aware that something was wrong.

Snape would not normally taunt him like this. Usually, such words would be used by him to taunt the students who blew up the cauldron.

And when he was scolded, he was usually more direct.

His eyes passed over Lucius who was paying attention without leaving any trace, and Asses was convinced.

"Professor Lao, please take care."

Holding the parchment, Asseth politely thanked him.

That gaze was still surrounding him, and Artes calmed down to read Snape's reply.

Vigorous and powerful fonts are densely covered on the letter paper, and the answers are also mixed with a lot of sharp sarcasm.

You really deserve to be a professor

Aces laughed in his heart, but his face remained calm, as serious as if he was facing an academic problem.

Although it is indeed an academic question.

After reading the last word, Asseth raised his head and asked in confusion.

"Professor, won't such an improvement method destroy the properties of the medicine? Whether it is the first step or the second step, the damage to the properties of the medicine will be serious, right?"

Snape stretched out his hand, touched a small sentence with his fingertips, and spoke slowly, "Your performance makes me question the use of the two round objects on your head."

Aces followed his finger and saw the small line of annotation: Note, this method is used on herbs with abnormal medicinal properties.

"Abnormal properties of the medicine?"

“Well, although it is not recorded in the book, in fact the medicinal properties of herbs growing in each region are different.

"But……"

Asses hesitated to speak, but Snape interrupted him directly, "There is no but, don't take your poor knowledge as everything, it will only make you look ridiculous."

"Oh, Severus, don't be so harsh on Artes, he's still a child."

Lucius came over and reconciled the two of them with a smile, and then introduced him to the Duke.

"This is Severus. You should know him. He is the Head of House and Potions Professor of Arsace."

Snape nodded to the Duke, who returned the gesture politely.

"Of course we know each other. Aces has been thinking about potions at home every day recently. He said that his professor gave him homework."

"Asais is so eager to learn. He doesn't even relax during the holidays. I really don't know how you can teach such an outstanding child?"

"Hahahaha, we didn't teach him much, it was Asseth who obeyed himself."

The Duke smiled and praised Draco, who was standing between the two ladies.

"I think Draco is a very good kid, obedient and well-behaved. Look, my wife is extremely satisfied with him."

The two complimented and tested each other for a while, going back and forth, laughing constantly.
