Slytherin's salvation is nothingness

Chapter 3 The world is indifferent

In Nottingham Forest, located in the East Midlands, England, a giant wolf walks through the jungle and is wary of its surroundings. It came to the lake to drink water. There were many other animals near the lake. It didn't attack, and the other animals just stayed away from it.

The lake supports surrounding wildlife and naturally creates a peaceful area. The animals that come here don't attack each other. The wolf seemed old and injured.

It was crawling in the grass some distance away from the lake, staring at a rabbit not far away. It was originally the alpha wolf in the pack, but was defeated by the grown-up wolf and expelled from the pack. It is too weak now and desperately needs food.

It stared at the hare, and suddenly it bit the hare's neck with all its strength. The warm blood spilled from the fangs made its eyes red, and it began to feast.

At this moment, there was a sound from under the tree in the distance, and it immediately made a defensive posture, leaned down, and let out a threatening growl. Just when it was concentrating on the bush, a strong wind blew in its ears.

When it turned back, a gleaming silver dagger pierced its throat from below to above. Just as it was about to bite the arm where the dagger was lying, it felt its throat being twisted by a strong force. The dagger thrust vertically into its throat was turned and pulled sideways.

The alpha wolf that once led the pack fell to the ground, its throat completely penetrated. At the end of its life, it saw a little girl with bandages on her eyes and even her forehead.

A girl put away her dagger and looked at the trees opposite, "Angus, you don't need to act as bait, it's too dangerous." There was no blame in her words, the girl spoke softly, full of tenderness.

She looked at the dog walking out of the grass. The dog had black fur on its back and rust-colored hair on its chest. Angus called out and came to the girl. The girl lovingly touched the head of Angus, who was even taller than her. Then she skinned and deboned the wolf in three strokes, and very skillfully tied the giant wolf, which was much stronger than her, behind her back and left with Angus.

The girl had long black hair tied into a high ponytail and was wearing black long-sleeved trousers despite the scorching heat. She is like an experienced hunter who often hides in the mud or grass for hours in the forest to hunt wild beasts.

This also made the whole body dirty, and even the straps tied around the face to cover the eyes and forehead were dusty. But she never seemed to care. Gradually, one person and one dog walked out of the forest and entered a nearby small village.

It was already late at night, and she walked along the deserted path to the most remote and simple hut from the village. She carefully checked the door for any signs of entry, and then checked around the house. Finally, he entered the house first, checked it out before asking Angus to come in.

It's said to be a hut, but it's actually more like a small warehouse. Even the roof is leaking. There was only a shabby wooden table in the room that seemed ready to collapse at any moment. The floor next to the wooden table was covered with a thin layer of leaky sheets. There were no candles or lights in the room.

But it does not affect the girl's movements. In the dark, she accurately picked up two pieces of dried meat that fell from the ceiling and shared them with her friends. After that, she cut off a small part of the wolf meat and hung it up. She said to Angus, "Stay here. If I don't come back at night, hide in the forest immediately and wait for me to come to you. Do you understand?"

Angus purred as if to object, and after meeting the girl's expressionless face, he leaned forward and licked her. He didn't stop shouting until he saw a slight smile on the girl's lips. Then she pretended to be struggling and dragged the giant wolf's body out.

She dragged the giant wolf corpse into a bar, and as soon as she opened the door, the thick smell of smoke and pungent man's body odor poured into her nose. The girl didn't react at all. She walked closer and faced a middle-aged wizard sitting leaning at the bar.

The wizard was cursing something drunkenly. He felt the cold wind brought in when the bar opened and turned to look angrily at the girl who walked into the bar. Then he swung his thick arm holding the wine glass and hit the girl firmly on the head. The noisy people around him suddenly calmed down, and everyone looked this way. But the moment he saw the girl, he withdrew his gaze and ignored the man's violence to a little girl just now.

There was noise all around again, as if nothing happened. A line of blood gradually flowed from the girl's head. She dragged the giant wolf corpse to the man and stretched out her hand.

A disdainful sneer appeared on the wizard's face. "A giant wolf that is about to die of old age? You still want to sell such a thing for money... But that's all you have." Then he took out a few from his pocket. Scattered coins were thrown out, some hit the girl's body, and some fell on the ground.

The girl silently knelt down and rubbed her body on the ground, the blood on her head dripping onto the already dirty floor.

"Don't make my floor dirty!" Then a heavy leather boot stepped on the girl's hand that was lying on the coin. The rest of the people in the bar watched the girl silently wipe the floor with her sleeves and fumble for the coins on the ground awkwardly. Ridicule, indifference, sympathy but indifference.

"Useless mute! Squib who can't use magic! Sean supported you for a year in vain, and he didn't even learn how to hunt!!" All kinds of insults rang in the girl's ears. The moment she walked out of the bar, someone even said Kicked her out from behind.

"It's really useless. Are you still raising that beast? A beast raised by Muggles doesn't even have any value for its fur, so just sell it for magic experiments!" Unexpectedly, as soon as these words came out, the girl immediately turned around and stared. To men. When she was about to pull out the dagger from her waist, there was a sound of "Woof!" in the distance. She hesitated for a moment and then turned and ran towards the place where the sound was.

The man didn't react. He spat, turned around, cursed and slammed the wooden door of the bar.

Snape walked into the principal's office with a dark face and looked at Dumbledore who was chewing candy and looking at him with a smile on his face.

"If I remember correctly, there is still one month left before the start of school. So what urgent matter does the principal have to take up your poor staff's vacation?" He gritted his teeth and said each word from his mouth. out.

"Ha, Severus. Are you having a good rest during the holidays? Would you like some sizzling honey candies?" Dumbledore waved and pointed at a large plate of golden wrapped candies on the table.

Snape's expression became even more gloomy, and he stared at the old man in front of him with sharp eyes. "Thank you, this is very unpleasant!" Then he turned around and left. "Can you accompany me to a place that will interest you?" Dumbledore stood up and walked to Snape and extended his hand.

Dumbledore took him to the edge of a forest and stood there without explaining. Snape frowned and was about to have a seizure when there was a noise from the trees nearby. Both he and Dumbledore were under the influence of the Disillusionment Curse.

He suppressed the thought of attacking Dumbledore and stared at the bushes. Then a short, thin little girl came out with a dog. She was dirty and smelled of blood. What caught Snape's attention was the bandage that was tightly tied on the little girl's face, occupying almost half of her face.

Snape stared at the girl carefully and found that there was a giant wolf tied to her back. He watched the girl's figure walking further and further away, and it gradually overlapped with the memory of Spider End Alley five years ago. She had grown a little taller and was still very thin, but not as weak as she had been then.

Then countless questions appeared in his mind, and Dumbledore's slow and steady voice came, "That little girl with the ability to petrify and is very dangerous seems to have never appeared in this world... Last year, the hunter in this small village picked up Arrives and adopts a little Squib girl who is blind and unable to speak.”

There was a moment of silence, and Snape and Dumbledore followed the little girl and witnessed the scene. They stopped at the door of the bar and saw the little girl running towards a dog. Then he hugged her tightly and said

"Angus, I didn't tell you not to come out to find me."

Then the little girl took the dog into the forest.

Hearing that name, Snape was sure that this was the child who almost killed him and finally cured him. Snape wanted to follow but was stopped by the old man beside him. He motioned to Snape to wait.

Not long after, they saw a man and a dog again. But they didn't get too close before they hid. I don’t know how long it took, but a man and a dog were hiding in the darkness at the end of the alley. Two people were standing vaguely not far away. There was a noise in the bar, and then the door was kicked open. The middle-aged wizard from before dragged the body of the giant wolf out staggeringly.

The girl followed up, following cautiously. Her experience of hunting in the forest made it easy for her to remain invisible while approaching the enemy. The girl's injured head was simply bandaged, and the blood on her face was cleaned up.

Snape saw the dagger on her waist, and there was a... long-barreled shotgun on her back? Was it hidden in the forest? Snape remembered that there was no such gun in the girl's humble house before. After the man walked into a dark alley, the girl leaned down, in a posture to charge forward and attack.

Snape didn't know why but wanted to stop him, but he saw the dog following the little girl taking the lead in blocking the girl. The girl watched Angus standing in front of her without giving in. She stood up silently and looked at the middle-aged wizard who was gradually walking away. Then he immediately took out the long-barreled shotgun behind him, loaded it, and took aim. He completed these actions in less than 2 seconds, but he still didn't pull the trigger, but he didn't put down the shotgun either.

"Why? If you don't kill him, sooner or later he will hurt you."

A cold and steady voice came out, and the girl spoke softly as if talking to herself. Then she felt her trouser legs being pulled, and she looked at Angus and touched his head. Snape watched as the girl who had just been as cold-blooded as a poisonous snake, hiding in the dark and gathering strength to wipe out the enemy, finally showed some warmth that a human should have when facing his pet. After the girl walked away, Dumbledore waved his hand to lift the disillusionment spell on the two of them, and said

"According to my recent observations, this child's situation can be said to be...unfortunate. She was adopted by Mr. Orion Sean, and within a few days Orion was attacked and killed by a wild beast in the forest. She lost her guardian, but in the small village The people didn't seem to care about this. They divided up Orion's inheritance and then made room for her to live in a small warehouse. Because she had lived with Orion before, this child knew how to hunt and live in the wild.

The village barkeeper would pay little or no price for the fruits of her hunt. If she failed to deliver any useful beasts each week, she would be taught a lesson. The people around... seemed to ignore her only when they were teasing and laughing at her. But the strange thing is that she did not choose to escape or resist. With her previous skills, she wouldn't be trapped here even if she couldn't use magic. "

"A person who is like a doll. I can't feel any emotion from her." Snape was silent for a moment and said, "What matters is where she went and what happened after she left five years ago. How did you find her?" ?" Dumbledore looked into the distance, as if remembering something.

"The Book of Admission and the Pen of Acceptance never fail. Come, meet your new students."
