Chapter 367 Secret in the Mist
Arthur and the others left the Elf Forest and continued their adventure. On this day, they came to a valley shrouded in thick fog. The valley was full of mystery and unknowns, and Arthur and the others couldn't help feeling nervous.
Suddenly, a mysterious traveler appeared in their sights. He was wearing a dark cloak, and his face was covered by the brim of the hat, leaving only a pair of bright eyes exposed. He held a magic wand in his hand, the tip of which shone with a faint light.
"Who are you?" Arthur asked vigilantly, holding the hilt of his sword tightly, ready to deal with possible dangers.
The mysterious traveler didn't answer. He walked toward them slowly, his steps heavy but steady. He stopped in front of them and slowly took off the brim of his cloak.
His face was full of wrinkles carved by time, but his eyes were still sharp. His hair has turned completely white, but his body is still upright. He looked at Arthur and the others, his eyes shining with wisdom.
"I am Herman," he said, his voice low and powerful, "I am the guardian of this valley."
Hearing his self-introduction, Arthur and the others breathed a sigh of relief. They knew that although this man was mysterious, he was not an enemy.
"We are adventurers, looking for clues to solve the mystery of the fog." Arthur said, and he put down the sword in his hand.
After hearing this, Herman smiled. He tapped the magic wand lightly with his fingers, and then said: "Then, come with me. Maybe, I can help you."
Hermann led them deeper into the fog. Arthur and Kate followed closely behind, while Anna held the violin gently and stared nervously ahead. The fog became thicker and thicker, and their vision became blurry. They could barely see the road ahead.
Suddenly, a strong wind blew through, taking away most of the fog. They found themselves standing in front of a huge stone door. The stone door is engraved with complex runes, exuding an ancient and mysterious atmosphere.
"What is this?" Kate asked in surprise. She reached out to touch the stone door, but Herman stopped her.
"This is a trial." Herman said, his eyes becoming serious, "Only by passing this trial can you find the clues to solve the mystery of the fog."
He turned to look at Arthur and said: "Arthur, you need to touch the stone door with your sword, and then answer the questions it raises. Only if the answer is correct, the stone door will open for you."
Arthur nodded, he stepped forward and gently placed the sword on the stone door. Instantly, the runes on the stone door began to glow, and a deep voice sounded in their ears: "Brave, what are you most afraid of?"
Arthur was stunned. He didn't expect the question to be so direct and profound. He looked at Herman, but Herman just looked at him silently.
He took a deep breath and replied, "My greatest fear is losing someone I hold dear."
As soon as he finished speaking, the light on the stone door became brighter, and then slowly opened, revealing a road leading to the depths of the mist.
"You passed the trial." Herman said with a smile, pointing to the road behind the stone door, "Now, you can move on."
After passing through the stone door, they followed Herman to a huge cave. A faint light emitted from the inside of the cave illuminated their front. At the end of the cave is a huge stone tablet with ancient runes engraved on it.
"This is the clue to unlocking the mystery of the fog." Herman pointed to the stone tablet and said.
Both Arthur and Kate frowned at the stone tablet, but they couldn't understand the meaning of the runes. Anna nervously held her violin against her chest, her heartbeat echoing in the cave.
Herman stepped forward, his hand gently touching the stone tablet, as if feeling its veins. After a moment, he turned to look at them: "These runes are actually an ancient magical language, representing a kind of power. Only by understanding this power can the fog be truly opened."
He turned to Arthur: "Arthur, your answers in the trial have told me that you have understood this power - love. You are most afraid of losing the person you cherish, and this is your power. Only with love Only with strength can we dispel fear and open the fog.”
After hearing this, Arthur felt moved in his heart. He looked at Kate and Anna, then at Hermann: "I understand, thank you, Hermann."
For the rest of the journey, Arthur leads Kate and Anna forward with new understanding and determination. They know that the fog is not the real obstacle, the real obstacle is themselves. Only by overcoming their inner fears can they find the true path.
The violin is still by their side, and its music always reminds them that they can find joy and hope no matter when and where they are, as long as they have love.
