Harry Potter: The Legend of Demigods

Chapter 61 Don’t do to others what you don’t want others to do to you

At night, Harry dragged Ron and Anakin to the room again. Ron saw himself holding the House Cup and the Quidditch Cup in his hands, as well as the medal of the Head Boy. After hearing the sound, Harry quickly put on the invisibility cloak. Just as Anakin had cast the Disillusionment Spell on himself and Ron, Mrs. Norris's bright eyes turned into the door. After a while, Mrs. Norris finally turned and left.

"It's still not safe - it's probably gone to Filch, I'm sure it heard us. Let's go."

Ron pulled Harry and walked out of the room.

By the third night, Harry was well on his way. He walked so fast that he didn't realize that he made a lot of noise, but he didn't meet anyone.

In order to complete the mission of the night tour, Anakin and Harry went out to find the magic mirror. Anyway, he can read a book or make his own card game.

Anakin has decided that his card game will imitate a famous game from his previous life, Three Kingdoms. Of course, Anakin will make some small changes to its rules, such as changing the name of the camp. In an environment as devoid of entertainment as the wizarding world, a new card game would be particularly profitable. After all, money is not everything, but nothing is impossible without money.

Before they knew it, they were in the room again, and Harry sat down on the floor in front of the mirror. Anakin found a chair and sat down. He picked up the alchemy book in his hand and started reading, studying how to turn the pictures on the cards into three-dimensional and moving ones. There was no memory that Dumbledore was in the room.

Anakin decided to make a "master set" of cards later. He recalled the time Hermione used the Transmutation Charm when she was in DA. She had cast the spell on fake galleons, and whenever she changed the contents of the galleons, the other galleons would change accordingly. This inspired Anakin that he could change the cards he sold later through his "master card". Of course, it will take some time to learn the transformation spell, but this has become one of his future plans.

"So - you're here again, Harry, Anakin?" a voice said from behind them. Anakin immediately closed the book in his hand, cursed himself, and turned away.

Harry also looked behind him. Sitting at a table by the wall was none other than Albus Dumbledore.

"I'm sorry, Headmaster," Anakin said quickly, standing up from his chair. The last thing he wanted to meet now was Dumbledore, fearing that he would have a sudden idea to see what was going on in Anakin's head.

"I-I didn't see you, sir." Harry looked particularly nervous.

"It's strange that you have become short-sighted after becoming invisible." Dumbledore said. Harry saw a smile on his face and couldn't help but breathe a sigh of relief.

"So," said Dumbledore, sliding off the table and joining Harry on the floor, "you, like hundreds of others before you, have discovered the joys of the Mirror of Erised."

"I didn't know it was called that, sir."

"But I assume you know its magic by now?"

"It - oh - makes me see my family -"

"And made your friend Ron see himself becoming Head Boy."

"How do you know... Oh, did you also use the Disillusionment Curse? Sir?"

"That's right, Harry, and Anakin, you used the Disillusionment Charm very well. It took me a while to find you." Dumbledore said gently, "So, can you Think about it, what does the Mirror of Erised show us all?"

Anakin said quickly: "Thank you, Headmaster."

Harry shook his head.

"Let me explain. The happiest man in the world can use the Mirror of Erised as an ordinary mirror. That is to say, what he sees in the mirror is his own appearance. Do you understand something?" Lido said.

Harry was thinking. Anakin replied: "This mirror will show our deepest and most intense desires. Erised stra ehru oyt ube cafru oyt on wohsi is engraved on the frame. The reverse reading is I show not your face but your heart 's desire (I'm not showing your face, but your inner desire)."

Professor Dumbledore clapped his hands: "Good answer, Anakin." He turned his head and looked at Harry. "The mirror will be moved to a new place tomorrow. Harry, I ask you not to look for it again. If you happen to see it one day, you must be mentally prepared. Indulge in illusory dreams and forget about reality. Life is useless, remember that. Well; why not put on that marvelous cloak of invisibility and go back to sleep?"

Harry stood up. Anakin quickly followed.

"Sir - Professor Dumbledore? Can I ask you a question?"

"It goes without saying that you just did that." Dumbledore smiled, "But you can ask me one more question."

"What did you see when you looked in the magic mirror?"

"I? I saw myself holding a pair of thick woolen socks."

Harry's eyes widened. Anakin smiled secretly, Dumbledore was bullying Harry for not knowing German. You know, in German, Gellert Grindelwald sounds almost the same as Woolen Socks.

"You can never have enough socks," said Dumbledore. "Christmas came and went without me receiving a pair of socks. People insisted on sending me books."

Harry and Anakin walked to the door. Suddenly, Dumbledore stopped Anakin with words: "Anakin, I don't think you are willing to stay with me, an old man, for a while? Why don't you go?" How about giving it a try?"

Anakin stopped, hesitating, then reluctantly turned back to Dumbledore. He didn't want to expose too much in front of this old man. Anakin frowned, trying to find a tactful way to refuse.

"Principal, actually I have some other things to deal with, and time is a little tight." Anakin tried to find a high-sounding excuse.

Dumbledore smiled slightly, as if he had read Anakin's mind. "Anakin, sometimes we get lost in the joy of the past when pursuing our goals. You have an important mission for the future, but don't ignore your true desires because of this mission."

Anakin's mouth moved slightly, feeling helpless at Dumbledore's words. He doesn't like to be known too much, especially about his deepest desires. This is a privacy and a burden for him.

"Principal, I really want to go back to the dormitory and read for a while, and I don't want to do it tomorrow morning..." Anakin tried to find more firm words.

Dumbledore waved his hand and interrupted him: "Anakin, I understand your desire for knowledge, but sometimes we also need to stop and take a look at what we really want. The Mirror of Erised is not just Showing desire, it is also a tool for self-reflection. Young people always like to hide their true wishes. This mirror allows you to see the deepest desire in your heart, and it may enlighten you. There are many times when you need to directly Depending on your desires, you can’t just run away and turn a blind eye.”

Anakin frowned, feeling a little disgusted. He didn't want to be taught how to think by others, especially Dumbledore, an old man who always revealed a kind of indifference in his words. In fact, Anakin also understood Dumbledore's worries, it was nothing more than fear that Anakin would disrupt the wizarding world again.

"Thank you, principal, for your suggestion. I will consider it. But there is an old Chinese saying, don't do to others what you don't want others to do to you. You can go and find out about it." Anakin grinned, with a hint of sarcasm in his tone. Then he said goodbye politely and followed Harry towards the end of the corridor.
