Warhammer 40: Mortal Gods

Chapter 848 Good News and Bad News

"Another quagmire of war."

Ryan tried his best to hide his anger and impatience. His expression was calm, but his voice and tone allowed others to sense his emotions at the moment.

"It seems that Bloom, who we captured earlier, is in a good situation. At least we speculate that the big melee was caused by that bastard Fabius and the situation got out of control again."

"Instead of the current situation, a traitor legion that is good at fighting defensive battles designed such a weird thing specifically for us."

As he spoke, Ryan paced back and forth in front of the projection displayed by Chuck, and many questions and complaints appeared in his mind.

"why?"

"How could those traitors who were scrambling to wear power armor come up with something like this? It doesn't look like it has much psychic energy, and it seems to be able to work in the real universe. And this damn thing is actually a huge ring that encompasses seven planets!"

"Where did they get all the resources and labor to build such a thing?"

Guilliman and Qin Mo only agreed and shared the same sentiments about Ryan's complaints, without any intention of persuading Ryan not to complain like that or to settle down.

In Qin Mo's opinion, there was something wrong with what Ryan said.

Most of the traitors in the Eye of Terror don't have a good life. They have to rely on robbing for weapons, equipment, and survival supplies, and even for reinforcements. But not all traitors have such a hard life.

The Black Legion that was taken over by Vashtor didn't suffer so much, and the Iron Warriors who believed in Undivided Chaos didn't suffer so much either.

But Qin Mo still agreed with the Lion King's complaint because even if the Iron Warriors had Chaos Embryos to replenish their members and their blacksmiths to manufacture a large number of weapons and equipment, they still should not be able to come up with such a large amount of money at the moment.

It could only be that someone else helped them.

For example, there is a lesser god in the warp who is anxious to become a righteous god, the guy named Vashtor.

"Maybe Vashtor helped the Iron Warriors build this thing." Qin Mo bluntly stated his speculation.

"Why did it do this?" Ryan asked, "I mean, I understand that Vashtor is trying to bring together the traitors so that the Eye of Terror won't be in internal strife when we're about to close it, but why is it so concerned about the Eye of Terror, a traitor nest?"

The reason why Ryan asked this was because he knew that Warp creatures and traitors were often short-sighted.

"For the Eye of Terror, for the Warp, for the great cause of fighting against the enemies of the Warp, we unite!" Such an idea could never appear in the mind of a Warp creature.

Vashtor was running around everywhere, delivering equipment and weapons, and even helping to build giant defensive projects, but it was obviously not for a great reason.

"I don't know why it helps the traitors defend the Eye of Terror. I only know that it does help the traitors defend the Eye of Terror." Guilliman ended the discussion about Vashtor's motives. "Forget about his motives. How can we understand the brain circuits of a creature from the Warp?"

Hearing "How can we possibly understand the thought processes of creatures in the subspace", Ryan subconsciously looked around and stopped looking around when he saw that someone was not there.

The topic was now brought back to the defense line created by the Iron Warriors.

Qin Mo looked at the projection and thought about a question, that is, whether such a huge line of defense could be maintained by the Iron Warriors alone?

The answer is obviously no.

Although the Iron Warriors have a vicious method of replenishing their forces called Chaos Wombs, there is no way their numbers are sufficient to maintain the operation of such a large line of defense.

After realizing that there must be more than just the Iron Warriors in the defense line, Qin Mo began to speculate about which human traitors from which forces might be assisting the Iron Warriors, or serving Vashtor intentionally or unintentionally together with the Iron Warriors.

But this kind of thing obviously requires the support of the Inquisitors and many intelligence departments in the Tyrone Sector. Just relying on the brain to think about it can only lead to the conclusion that all the traitors are likely to maintain the defense line together.

Qin Mo's thinking process was a bit slow. Guilliman on the side thought about it at the same time and extremely quickly, and immediately realized it.

Guilliman thought about more things, then looked at Qin Mo. Just as he was about to speak, he guessed from the latter's eyes that the latter was aware of what he was going to say next.

This is the tacit understanding between Lord Talon and the Regent of the Empire.

Guilliman turned around and told everyone what he had figured out: "I found that Vashtor has been intentionally or unintentionally gathering more traitors together, just like on Brume."

"Eisenhorn's apprentices discovered several webway exits on Brume. Many of the traitors who later rushed to Brume appeared in those webways. Otherwise, if we controlled the void outside Brume, how could the traitors send reinforcements to Brume?"

After Guilliman finished speaking, he looked at his brother and Qin Mo.

After hearing what he said, Qin Mo also realized it.

He even knew more, such as not all hostile forces on Brume were fighting voluntarily. Many people or war gangs came to Brume inexplicably and were forced into the battle by the situation.

"As you said..."

Ryan stroked the beard on his chin and stared at the two people who were discussing with him.

The three of them realized one thing at the same time.

That is, if the speculation is correct, then Vashtor may throw many human enemies onto the battlefield, forcing the latter to participate in the battle.

For example, you could stuff a tough guy or a war gang into an occupied network and throw them onto the battlefield when the war breaks out.

"Forget it, let's stop guessing. We have to fight this war." Ryan stopped everyone's speculation and then expressed his own thoughts, "We have to prepare well before we start the war."

Speaking of preparations, Guilliman, who rarely interferes in war affairs, has something to say.

"There are not enough Blackstones. This is fatal," said Guilliman.

Ryan asked: "What about Huangquan No. 8..."

"Not to mention Acheron VIII, even the output of several other planets with black stone deposits is not enough because the efficiency of the Mechanicus is too low."

"You could have Kaur ..."

"I gave the order to Cawl when there were enough black stones. He installed something around a planet with black stones not long ago. These things allow the planet to be towed by the Explorer King to the Eye of Terror."

"That's enough..."

"Not enough. There are places in the Eye of Terror that need Black Stone everywhere. There is simply not enough."

Every question of Lion was interrupted and answered by Guilliman, because Guilliman was too familiar with these logistics and resource mobilization matters.

Now that Ryan has decided to make good preparations before attacking the Iron Warriors' Star Defense Line, the need for Blackstone is imminent.

"I have two pieces of news about Black Stone. Do you want to hear the good news or the bad news?" Qin Mo suddenly spoke.

"Good news!" Ryan demanded decisively.

"The good news is that a planet with extremely high black stone reserves has been discovered in the Talon star region." Qin Mo said.

Guilliman and Lion both breathed a sigh of relief.

Since the establishment of the Talon sector, no planet with black stone deposits has ever been discovered, but now one has finally been discovered.

If the Tyrone people were to mine black stone, their efficiency would be extremely high.

But Qin Mo also said there was bad news...

"What about the bad news?" Guilliman asked cautiously.

"The planet with the black stone deposits is very close to the zone, but it is not within the zone."

Qin Mo raised his hand and projected an image on the table.

That was a report from the star zone resource exploration department, and the report date was September 29, seventy-third of the Eye of Terror time, which was the day before yesterday.

The above reports the location of the black stone mining planet.

"In a new colony of a non-human civilization called Tau."
