Harry Potter: The Atypical Alchemist
Chapter 69 The agreement is reached and the boss takes the flight
Judging from the dialogue, there is nothing suspicious about Snape.
What's questionable is why he's here. Students have a curfew, and professors won't wander around the school late at night unless...
Stone pinched his chin and recalled who the night teacher was today.
Oh, yes, it's Snape.
Reasonable. But whether he can escape suspicion depends on what he does next. Stone decided to spend some time with him.
The conversation stopped and footsteps began. Stone lowered his head and hid in the darkness.
When the footsteps faded away, Stone stuck his head out of the corner, looked left and right, and followed Snape's direction.
He always kept a corridor distance from Snape, and followed him quietly every time he reached a corner, following three or four corridors.
During this period, Snape did not show any suspicious behavior and was just patrolling.
According to Harry, the people who want to steal the Philosopher's Stone have gotten a lot of information.
If this person is Snape, then as the night teacher, his best time to take action is undoubtedly tonight.
'Well, Snape's suspicion can be reduced. ’ Stone thought.
He stopped following and turned towards the corridor on the fourth floor.
Suddenly, there was an explosion deep in the castle, and a lot of ash fell from the ceiling.
'what? ’ Stone was stunned for a moment and thought: ‘Is this going to explode? ! ’
The explosion also alarmed Snape. He turned around quickly and saw a sneaky figure.
"Who's there?" Snape shouted, drawing out his wand at the same time, "Come out! Or I won't be polite!"
"Ahem." Stone walked out of the darkness, "Calm down, Professor Snape."
"Cape?" Snape lowered his wand and strode over, "Why would a Ravenclaw student like you appear here in the middle of the night?"
"Before I answer your question, may I tell you a story?"
While asking, Stone slowly put his hand into his pocket and held a baseball. Snape's suspicion has been reduced, but it has not been completely eliminated, so he must be on guard.
"What trick do you want to play?" Snape demanded.
"It's just a story," Stone said. "After hearing this story, we have the need to continue talking."
Hearing this, Snape frowned and said displeasedly: "You tell me."
"Okay." Stone smiled: "This is a story about love - once upon a time, there was a mixed-blood wizard who fell in love with a Muggle-born witch. They were assigned to different colleges. The wizard had a Haters..."
"Shut up!" Snape yelled, "Where did you hear that?!"
"It does not matter."
Stone still had a smile on his face, but the veins in his hand holding the baseball were exposed. He controlled his tone and said:
"The important thing is, do you want Harry Potter dead?"
"What?" Snape had an expression of disbelief on his face, "Of course I don't want him to die."
"Um......"
Stone believed in his observation ability. When he asked the question, Stone had been observing Snape's reaction. His surprise was genuine and his tone was not fake.
There was room for conversation. Stone breathed a sigh of relief and said:
"I will forget your story, and in exchange, can you also forget that you saw me tonight."
Of course, forgetting here is not really forgetting, but secrecy is the condition in exchange for the right to move freely tonight, and no points will be deducted.
After hearing Stone's conditions, Snape stared at him for a while and slowly uttered:
"can!"
"Okay." Stone let go of the hand holding the baseball, took it out and clapped his hands vigorously: "The agreement is reached!"
"So, can you now explain why you came out and what happened with the explosion just now?" Snape asked with a cold face.
"Oh! It's Harry and the others. He was afraid that Voldemort would get the Sorcerer's Stone, so he went to the forbidden area on the fourth floor first. As for the explosion..."
"boom--"
Just as they talked about explosions, there was another dull explosion deep in the castle.
Snape stopped and thought for a while, then his expression changed drastically:
"Oops, Quirrell!"
With that said, he quickly walked towards the corridor on the fourth floor.
As they walked, Snape asked without looking back:
"Why didn't you say such an important thing earlier?!"
"Well..." Stone replied with a smile: "You need to know that in everyone's eyes, you are the most suspicious person."
"..." Snape fell silent and walked forward in silence.
Stone, on the other hand, followed him, looking intently at the road under his feet - mainly because he was afraid of stepping on Professor Snape's bat wings.
They walked to the stairs in silence and went upstairs in silence.
Turning a corner, a white-robed wizard appeared in front of them.
—It was Dumbledore.
"Oh -" Dumbledore said calmly: "It's quite lively at night."
Then, he turned his head and looked at Stone behind him, "A night outing for Ravenclaw students? It's a bit rare. Why did you come out?"
"It's Harry. I learned that Harry and the others were looking for the Philosopher's Stone, so I came to ask Professor Snape for help." Stone lied without blinking and continued: "I heard Harry say that you are not here. School."
"I just came back." Dumbledore said with a smile: "Since everyone is here, that's good, let's go and see it together."
One white and two black, three figures walked into the corridor on the fourth floor.
Deep in the corridor, Dumbledore opened the door.
There was a harp in the room, which had stopped playing for a long time. The three-headed dog Luwei seemed to be irritated by something, and frantically grabbed the trap door on the floor.
The moment the door opened, Lu Wei rushed towards them.
Dumbledore took a step forward:
"It's okay, Lu Wei, step back."
His voice seemed to be filled with magic, and the three-headed dog immediately restrained its anger and retreated into the corner.
The three people stepped forward, and the trap door opened automatically, revealing the deep passage below.
"Come on," said Dumbledore, and jumped down.
Then there was Snape.
Stone looked at the entrance of the cave, gritted his teeth and jumped in.
In the dark and lightless environment, he fell rapidly. Just as he was about to throw out his wand to deal with it, his speed slowed down and he saw two figures below.
I didn't see any movement from them, but a fire suddenly broke out in the cave.
In the light of the fire, Stone saw the scene below, a devil's net shrinking into a dark place.
They passed through the devil's net, stopped in mid-air ten centimeters above the ground, and then landed steadily.
