Harry Potter: The Atypical Alchemist
Chapter 32 Diamond Carving Knife
The first day after Christmas.
Early in the morning, the Ministry of Magic sent someone over.
The visitor was wearing a neat dark gray suit and was carrying a briefcase. He had a stooped figure and a solemn and meticulous expression, as if he was engaged in some kind of secret work.
"Hello, Mr. Capet."
The man took out an envelope and ten gold galleons from his briefcase.
"This is Saifa's information and contact address. This is your travel expenses."
"What do you mean?" Stone was a little confused, "I have to contact and go by myself?"
"This is what the ministry means. You can confirm with Mr. Dumbledore. I am only responsible for conveying the news."
"...Okay." Stone nodded wordlessly, "Thanks, what is your name?"
"you do not need to know."
After saying that, the man waved his wand and disappeared.
"Okay..." Stone muttered into the air.
After returning to the bedroom, Stone opened the letter, which was written in Arabic.
In other words, the organizer of the event sent the event information to various ministries of magic, but the British Ministry of Magic did not even read it and forwarded it directly to him.
Fortunately, he understands Arabic, otherwise, just reading the letters would be a big hassle.
What's even more interesting is that the information coming out of Cairo is much more detailed than what the person just explained.
——Contestants can go to the competition venue through the passage of the Ministry of Magic, or they can go by themselves, but they need to inform the arrival time and place in advance, and they will send reception staff.
It seemed that the Ministry of Magic of the country did not take this competition, or in other words, did not take him, a certain first-year contestant, to heart, at least not much more than those who held it.
"Then go by yourself." He weighed the things in his hands, "I've already given you ten gold galleons, what more can you ask for?"
However, since you are going by yourself, there is no need to stick to the rules of the wizarding world.
He wrote a letter to Sai Fang's address, and when Nyx came back, he tied the letter to her leg.
The letter indicated the manner and approximate time of his journey to Cairo.
——The day after tomorrow, take a plane.
You can also save ten gold galleons, which is not bad.
He had always renewed his passport and so on. When Nicks flew out, he asked his father to take him to buy a ticket to fly to Egypt the day after tomorrow.
"Are you going by plane?" When he came back, Karl asked with a smile: "Are wizards' travel methods so modern, such as trains and planes?"
"No way." Stone shook his head, "Those teleportation techniques can only be learned when you are older. Our Ministry of Magic doesn't care about this competition."
"Ha!" Karl sneered, "It seems that your official department in the wizarding world is not very good either."
"Who knows? Anyway, I'm not competing for them, so let's do whatever I love."
... ...
The next afternoon, Nyx flew back to the manor with a reply. After handing the letter to Stone, she lay down on the sofa to rest.
Three consecutive days of intense work, including a cross-regional task, exhausted her.
"Be good~" Stone sat on the sofa, stroking Nyx's head with one hand, and opened the letter with the other hand.
The text is long, but the content is simple.
The previous paragraph is full of shock at Stone's choice of Muggle travel. The last line reads:
[Okay, I understand, we will make arrangements]
Stone did not express surprise at the other party's agreement. Although he is not taken seriously by the Ministry of Magic in his country, as a person recommended by Dumbledore and the only privileged dog in this competition, it is normal for him to receive such treatment.
"Get a good rest." Stone's hand has already rubbed the back of Nyx's neck. "You won't be needed for a while. Just don't gain weight anymore."
"Hululu--" Nyx flapped his wings comfortably.
Another two hours later, the doorbell rang. It was a friend of Stone's father who came, and he brought a ready-made diamond carving knife. Karl invited him to sit in the living room.
"Here." The man took out an oak box and Stone's original knife bag from the suitcase. "In order to meet your needs, the best masters in our company have terminated their vacations. You guys can see if it suits you." ."
"Okay, thank you." Karl patted him on the shoulder, and then looked at Stone, "Open it and have a look. If it doesn't work, I'll just wait for a while and give it to you when school starts."
"Well, let me see."
With that said, Stone opened the oak box.
The first layer is a knife bag, which is similar to the original one, but more exquisite and of much better quality than the original one.
He took out the sandwich and revealed a row of diamond knives underneath.
The dimensions are exactly the same as the original metal carving knife, so there is no problem if there are any differences, it has no impact on performance.
He picked up his commonly used medium-sized carving knife and placed it in front of his eyes.
The completely colorless gem carving knife shone with dazzling brilliance. Through the surface, he looked at the inside of the carving knife and inspected it carefully.
After a long time, even with the keenness of Stone's eyes, no impurities were found, which is rare in any material. This means that at least there is no problem with the hardware.
He glanced at the three people present, activated the magic power in his body, and scratched the original almost disabled carving knife.
"Ding--"
Amidst the pleasant sound of metal collision, a straight score was drawn on the steel knife.
There was no problem with the transmission of magic power, or in other words, it was excellent. Stone instantly felt the difference between steel and diamond.
Now, only one final question remains.
He raised the carving knife and looked at the tip of the carving knife.
"no problem."
As he spoke, Stone roughly checked the other carving knives:
"No problem at all."
"Huh -" After hearing Stone's words, the man who came with the carving knife breathed a sigh of relief, "It's no problem. If you use it as a tool, diamond is the best choice."
"Yeah! Thanks!" Karl patted the man's shoulder again, "Let's buy a few more sets when we find time, and also a set of natural diamonds. Then we can try which one is better."
"Emm... If there are requirements for purity, it needs to be the highest grade diamond. Plus, the shape is special, so the price will be very high. In that case, I won't be able to give it to you."
"What are you talking about?" Karl said displeasedly: "I don't intend to do this for nothing."
"..."
The two good friends went to chat, and Stone returned to the bedroom holding the carving knife.
He was leaving tomorrow and he had to pack his luggage.
And when he opened the suitcase, it was already filled to the brim with all-black suits, light-colored coats, and even some off-season clothes.
Stone pursed his lips, his nose sour.
