The van used for the kidnapping was found in a hidden alley. The NYPD quickly cordoned off the scene. When Jack and his team arrived, female forensic doctor Lanny Parrish and technicians from the CSI New York Laboratory were busy beside the car.

The appearance of the forensic doctor at the scene at this time was not a good sign. Brian was still calm, but Cassel was furious.

"Don't do anything to disrupt the scene." Jack led the two men across the cordon, took out rubber gloves and handed them to them while warning them.

The side door of the van was open, and Lannie was operating the test kit with her head down. The large pool of blood in the car was shocking.

"Oh my God!" Cassel's legs went weak when he saw this scene. If Brian beside him hadn't reacted quickly and held his arm, he would have collapsed to the ground on the spot.

"Whose blood is that? Did someone die in the car? Lanny!"

As Cassel asked the question in a tearful voice, Jack, who was also a little scared, opened the passenger door and looked into the driver's seat, carefully observing the situation inside.

"Casel, no body has been found. Lanny and I just arrived." Beckett arrived just one step ahead of them and was asking passers-by. When he heard Cassel's screams, he hurried over to comfort him.

"The amount of bleeding was not fatal. The blood dripped from the driver's seat to the car compartment. It looked like the driver was injured. Hasim shot him at least once."

Jack whispered to Brian, who nodded slightly, his expression visibly improving.

"Hey, Cassel, what's Alexis's blood type?" Seeing the great writer next to him so anxious that tears came out, Jack turned around and asked.

"A, Type A."

After getting the answer, Jack looked at Brian again.

"Same."

"Give me a minute, it will be ready soon." Lanny replied without raising her head as she was dripping the ABO blood type standard dilution solution into the test hole.

Jack winked at Beckett, who understood and took Cassel away from the van. Simply testing blood type is much faster than testing DNA, and the whole operation process will not take more than 5 minutes if you are proficient in it.

Seeing Lanny's expression after she looked up, Jack already knew the answer. Only Cassel, who was at a loss, was still asking with tears in his eyes, "Do the blood types match?"

"Type B, it's not your daughter's blood." Lanny's words made Beckett on the side obviously relieved.

"OK, don't get in the way here. Let Lanny and the others do their thing." Jack pulled Cassel and prepared to take him out of the blockade area.

"No, no, no, she might be around here, she must be around here." Cassel wiped his tears hard and looked around blankly.

"It's gone now." Brian, who was squatting at the front of the van, stood up and said, "The blood trail stopped here. They changed cars."

"It was a black Yukon." Beckett nodded. "A witness saw the car hastily leave the alley shortly after the van entered the alley, and it also knocked over a trash can on the side of the road."

Yukon is a full-size SUV under GMC. Because of its large interior space, it is often used as a nanny car for celebrities.

"Agent Tawal!" Sarah's parents, the Elmasri couple, also rushed to the scene. They were stopped outside the cordon and waved to Jack anxiously.

Jack nodded to the two police officers, signaling them to enter. "What is your daughter's blood type?"

"Type O." Sarah's father answered in a trembling voice, trying hard to hold back tears.

"Then she should be fine for now. The blood type found in the car is B." Jack's words made the couple feel relieved.

The parents of the three girls stood together. Sarah's mother looked at Cassel, who was wiping tears like her. "Then there is still hope, right?"

Cassel smiled through his tears and nodded repeatedly, "Yes, that's right."

"I'm sorry to involve your daughter." Sarah's father said to Cassell and Brian apologetically.

Cassel just waved his hand as if he didn't want to say anything more, but Brian hesitated for a moment and asked, "Don't you really know who did it?"

"I wish I knew too." Sarah's father replied through gritted teeth, his eyes narrowed slightly, and a hint of murderous intent flashed in his pupils.

A big businessman who would be treated with hostility by another force because of making friends with politicians is naturally not a good person. Being regarded as an enemy by one force itself represents a kind of strength.

"My family in Egypt is investigating and will inform the FBI as soon as there is any news."

Brian nodded silently and turned his gaze back to the van with bullet holes all over its windshield. For someone like him who came from an operational agent background, the feeling of holding a gun but not knowing who the enemy is and being able to only look around in confusion was extremely uncomfortable.

Stella Bonasilla was personally leading a group of technicians to collect evidence inside and outside the car. Jack had just introduced them to each other. Now they could only hope that forensic science could find some useful clues.

"Jack, Jack, watch this video."

Subconsciously making a defensive move, Jack blocked Cassel's hand that was reaching for his shoulder and stood up from the sofa.

He and Brian slept on the couch at Cassell's house last night. Most of the wanted criminals were also here. Hannah and Clay went to the hotel where Brian's ex-wife and her current husband lived, and there was also a group of FBI agents staying with Sarah's parents.

"What happened?" Jack straightened his coat and looked at the laptop that Cassel brought over. A video was playing on it. It was a personal Vlog of Alexis.

In the video, the girl happily shared her new friend Kim, and mentioned that she and Sarah would attend a speech on climate change and their recent travel plans. She also thanked her open-minded father for helping her take such a long leave from school.

"The kidnappers must have known their whereabouts through this video!" Cassel grabbed Jack's arm excitedly, his eyes bloodshot, "Ask your people to track the IP address that logged into Alexis's personal page after 2:36 pm the day before yesterday!"

"How do you think I knew Alexis had planned a week-long trip with Kim?" Jack yawned and poured himself a cup of coffee from the coffee pot on the table.

"The IP address has already been checked. Alice and her people followed various virtual jump servers around the world three times, but they still couldn't find the source."

What Jack didn't say was that he also contacted Justin directly, but so far there has been no results. It's not that he can't find the information, but that there is not enough time.

"You're not going to help find Alexis like this." Jack nodded at Brian who was sleeping on the other sofa, "He's also a worried father like you."

"Actually, I can't sleep either, but I know that being like him will only lead to wrong judgments at critical moments due to my confused brain." Brian opened his eyes and said calmly on the sofa.
