The company where the incident occurred was located on the third floor of a newly built office building. When Jack walked into the elevator, he noticed that there was a hole where the camera was supposed to be installed, with the reserved wires exposed inside.

"So you didn't collect any surveillance footage?"

"It's been less than two weeks since the renovation was completed. 'Senarock' is the first company to move in, and many of the equipment has not yet been installed."

The sheriff answered as he walked quickly out of the elevator, tucking the state police's standard-issue cowboy hat under his arm.

"There are only 9 people in this company including the CEO. Where did the other employee go?" Jiejie asked as she flipped through the two-page report that had just been handed to her.

"He is a software engineer in the company. Police officers went to his residence as soon as the incident happened, but his neighbors claimed that they hadn't seen him in the past two days."

As he spoke, the sheriff led everyone through the corridor. Just as he said just now, not only had the surveillance equipment not been installed, but even the company logo at the door had not been hung up.

The layout of this company is very simple. There is a public office area with partitions in the middle. The rooms on both sides are a reception room and a slightly larger conference room. The innermost room is a separate office.

"Like a small company with decent operations but not complicated business, what exactly do they do?" Aubrey asked, walking around a pool of blood near the door.

At this time, five or six hours had passed since the crime occurred. The body had already been sent to the coroner's office, and even the on-site investigation was nearing completion. Several forensic assistants were cleaning up the yellow evidence signs on the ground.

There were a total of 9 people in the company, 8 of whom were killed and 1 was missing. It is indeed difficult to understand the specific business of this company in a short period of time.

However, the sheriff pointed to the CEO's office at the back and said, "Adam Weiner is the CEO of this company. His office has been turned upside down. Perhaps you can find some useful clues."

"Jiejie and Hannah, go in and take a look." Jubal said as he handed the tablet to Jack. "Alice just got the photos of the scene. Let's see if we can reconstruct the scene."

The sheriff pointed to the large pool of blood at the feet of Clay, who was also holding a tablet, and said, "This is the first victim we found, Nathan Muntz."

"The body fell facing the door. He almost ran out of the office. It looks like he was the last one to be killed." Clay half-crouched on the ground, changing the direction of the tablet in his hand from time to time.

"The ones who fell here are Jane Bonnie and Winnie David. Jane also tried to escape, and her throat was cut from behind. Winnie hid under the table, but the murderer did not let her go."

Jack paused here and exchanged glances with Clay.

Clay shook his head, his face looking a little grim. "There should be only one murderer. He used a pistol first, and after emptying the magazine, he didn't replace it. Instead, he used a knife to finish it off."

At this point, his tone was somewhat reluctant. "The murderer's physical fitness is far superior to that of ordinary people. He has received rigorous training and is decisive and ruthless. It is very likely that he has a certain military background."

They noticed something was wrong when they walked into the company. Although the scene was extremely bloody and the carpet was covered with large pools of blood, there were no bullet holes everywhere like in a normal shooting scene, and there was not even a piece of broken glass. All the messy places were caused by the victims running away or falling down, such as the overturned cup of water and the laptop pulled to the ground by the power cord.

Even though the murderer attacked suddenly and the eight people he faced were all unarmed ordinary people, only Jack and Clay could complete such efficient killing in a short period of time.

Aubrey's mind raced, and he keenly sensed something was wrong. "This doesn't make sense. If the murderer had planned it, he wouldn't have prepared spare magazines in advance, which resulted in him having to use a knife to kill the remaining three people."

"This means that he is targeting someone, and the others are just collateral damage." Jack looked at the CEO's office that Jiejie and Hannah entered. There was a pool of blood with some brain tissue at the door of the office.

The photo shows that the body fallen here is the company's CEO Adam Weiner. If the deaths of other people can only explain the problem from the side, then the injuries suffered by this CEO are very intuitive.

Two bullets in the chest and one in the head. Many of the guys who died at the hands of Jack and Clay suffered similar treatment.

"I guess he was the murderer's priority target and the first victim."

Before Jack could finish his words, the glass door of the office was pushed open, and Jiejie held an open locked gun box in her gloved palm.

"Jack, Clay, does this thing look familiar to you?"

In the gun box lay an MK24 with a golden anchor logo. Jack had an identical backup gun, which was a souvenir given by SEAL Team B.

"It looks like we know why NCIS assigned this case to the Most Wanted Team." Jubal looked at the photos hanging on the wall of the office.

"Do you know him?" Jack asked Clay.

Including ordinary SEALs and the so-called SEAL Team Six, now known as "DEVGRU", the external identities of their active members are strictly confidential, and the same applies to other special forces such as Delta.

Even after retirement, their military service experience remains sealed, and most of the records that can be found, including by the FBI, are those that are deliberately left blank or are vague.
