Bottom exhaust bomb is the abbreviation of bottom exhaust bomb.

This design is also to eliminate the bottom resistance generated during the flight of the artillery shell, thereby increasing the range of the artillery shell.

However, unlike bottom concave bullets that focus on "self-exploitation" by changing the external shape, bottom row bullets use additional strength.

It is equipped with a powder block and a powder gas exhaust device in the tail of the bomb.

After the projectile is launched, it will generate and release gas, which is used to fill or partially fill the low-pressure area formed by the projectile tail, reduce the pressure difference between the projectile tail and the warhead, and disperse the vortex at the tail, thereby reducing bottom resistance.

Compared with rocket-extended range bombs, bottom row bombs have a relatively simple structure.

Because the gunpowder block at the tail of the projectile is mainly used to generate gas and fill the low-pressure area, it is not used to provide the power for the flight of the projectile, so it accounts for a small proportion of the volume.

This allows the bottom platoon bomb to use a warhead with a larger charge.

However, bottom row bombs also have their drawbacks.

After this kind of artillery shell is fired, the burning of the gunpowder block at the end of the shell will objectively cause some changes in the center of gravity of the projectile, thus affecting the accuracy of the shell's strike.

The bottom-row rocket compound extended-range projectile, as the name suggests, refers to a projectile that uses both bottom exhaust and rocket boosting designs.

After the bottom-row rocket compound extended-range projectile is launched, as soon as the projectile leaves the muzzle, it first flies at a low altitude with high air density. At this time, the air resistance is large, and the bottom resistance accounts for a large proportion of the air resistance, so it first Use bottom exhaust to reduce drag and increase range.

When the projectile enters a high altitude where the air density is less, the rocket engine starts and begins to accelerate it to obtain a longer range.

The bottom-row rocket compound extended-range projectile will also suffer from poor accuracy problems like the bottom-row rocket. In addition, the extended-range part of the rocket will occupy space, causing the warhead space to be limited and the amount of charge to be limited.

The artillery regiment's long-range 155 howitzer can hit 40 kilometers when using bottom concave rounds, and 50 kilometers when using bottom row rounds.
